The Pentagon Report on UFO Sightings Is Here but Doesn't Offer Any Answers

Izvješće, podneseno Kongresu i objavljeno javnosti, obuhvaća

US intelligence report says 143 UFO incidents remain unexplained

The incidents could fall into five different categories: airborne clutter, natural atmospheric phenomena, classified US programmes, foreign adversary systems from countries such as China and Russia, or other.
The report which was sent to US Congressional committees said the "limited amount of high-quality reporting" on the phenomena "hampers our ability to draw firm conclusions."
UFOs have long been part of science fiction folklore but recently officials have highlighted the national security concerns surrounding the unidentified phenomena, particularly near defence sites.
"It is critical that the United States maintain operations security and safety at DoD ranges," US deputy secretary of defence Kathleen Hicks said in a memo released after the report.

US mulls possibility of airstrikes if Afghan forces face crisis

(Last Updated On: June 10, 2021)
The Pentagon is reportedly considering seeking authorization to carry out airstrikes to support Afghan security forces if Kabul or any other major Afghan city is in danger of falling to the Taliban, the New York Times reported Wednesday.
According to senior officials, this could potentially introduce flexibility into President Joe Biden’s plan to end the United States military presence in the conflict.
Initially, Biden and his top national security aides suggested that once U.S. troops left Afghanistan, air support would end as well, with the exception of strikes aimed at terrorist groups that could harm American interests.

WASHINGTON — At Fort Bragg, one of the nation’s largest military installations, plans are afoot for its first commemoration of Juneteenth, highlighting the role of the Union Army in emancipation.
The Defense Department recently added a deputy inspector general for diversity and inclusion and supremacist, extremism and criminal gang activity. In February, Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III ordered the military to examine extremist activity in its midst and to ask troops for their views. Earlier, Mr. Austin had revoked a ban on diversity training for the military, and on Wednesday, he spoke at a Pride Month celebration at the Pentagon.

United States weighs possibility of airstrikes if Afghan forces face crisis

A potential fall of Kabul is the crisis most likely to lead to military intervention after U.S. troops leave, officials said. Intervening to protect Kandahar, Afghanistans second-largest city, would be far less certain, one official said. Encroaching Taliban forces have increasingly threatened several other urban hubs in almost every corner of the country in recent months.
