黃金此走勢，係因美元交易疲軟，週五美元 ICE 指數下跌 0.2%，本週小跌到持平之間。
8 月交割的黃金期貨價格上漲 10.40 美元或 0.6%，收每盎司 1810.60 美元，本週收高 1.53%。
FactSet 數據顯示，本週是黃金連續第三週上漲，也是自 5 月 21 日止的當週以降最大單週漲幅，凸顯了黃金的上漲趨勢。
長期公債殖利率 (10 年期和 30 年期) 觸及 2 月以來最低水準，這也是黃金價格上行的部分樂觀因素。
策略師表示，Delta 新冠疫情蔓延，經濟前景持續令人擔憂，加上股市的高估值，這些有助於支撐貴金屬價值。
週五黃金收高之際，美股也反彈，在週四道指、S&P 500 指數和那斯達克綜合指數三大指數創下 3 週以來最大單週跌幅後，令人印象深刻地反彈。
對 Fed 貨幣政策的臆測 (包括削減每月 1200 億美元資產採購計畫) 也影響了黃金和其他貴金屬的交易。
ActivTrades 的技術分析師 Pierre Veyret 寫道，「投資者確實有很多要處理的事情，例如美國縮表、疫情病例增加、旅遊限制解除，全球經濟走向仍存在很多不確定性。所以到目前為止，觀望態度盛行，價格必須清楚的突破 1814 美元，或者跌破 1790 美元，市場走向才會更強勁。」
