Breeders, exhibitors, county fairs and exhibitions need to know these changes in acquiring official identification for show pigs.

With the 2021 show season just around the corner, there are some important changes regarding swine tagging that breeders, exhibitors, county fairs and exhibitions must know. Public Act 466 (Animal Industry Act) requires pigs shown at fairs, exhibitions or shows must have official individual animal identification (ID). The requirement reflects a change in how the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) will manage the animal identification program.

Just six months after a crushing blow from the United States to Huawei Technologies Co.'s booming smartphone business, the company is now looking towards some less glamorous alternatives in order to offset the company's largest revenue contributor.
It was recently reported that Huawei had decided to go into the pig or hog farming business in China and now, it seems like Huawei is going a step further.

According to the story by Bloomberg, among the newest customers of Huawei are now fish farms located in eastern China that are reportedly twice the size of New York's very own Central Park.

WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) — Susanne Sager and her husband, Matt, were taking care of business. For more than a decade, they had owned and operated Palazzo’s 1837 Ristorante, a fine-dining location along Washington Road in North Strabane Township.
Then last spring, COVID-19 intervened, stirring vats of turmoil at restaurants across Pennsylvania. In an effort to mitigate spread of the disease, Gov. Tom Wolf shut down “non-essential businesses” across the state, including indoor dining. Palazzo’s, like most of its industry peers, strove to persevere, offering takeout and outdoor dining, but ultimately suffered.

GURUGRAM: In letters addressed to the local administration and the chief minister’s office earlier this month, about 50-60 residents in the southern Haryana district of Palwal said they did not wish to take the Covid vaccine. The serum, they feared, contains cow blood, meat or fat.
In Nuh, where inoculation drives have met with resistance in the past too, the health department has been informed of concerns that the vaccine “contains pig parts” and could cause infertility.
The Phase 3 turnout in the two predominantly rural districts has been dismal so far. While Nuh’s turnout is the second lowest in the state, with just 470 people vaccinated, Palwal is at 17th spot among 22 districts, with 1,252 inoculations. According to the 2011 Census, Nuh’s population is 12 lakh while that of Palwal is 10.5 lakh. Either district has a target of over 1 lakh for the ongoing phase.

The Minnesota based Prairie Livestock Supply, a subsidiary of Prairie Holdings Group, has been acquired by FBN.
That company provides feed and nutrition services along with pharmaceuticals for swine, beef, dairy and poultry. Its team of 40 veterinarians, animal health sales specialists and nutritionists with expertise in swine, beef, dairy and poultry will join FBN.
In addition, through this new deal, the organization said its members in select US states will be able to access clinical veterinary services for beef, swine, and dairy through a partnership with Southwest Veterinary Services.

Two years ago, Randy Koon who owns the Carquest Auto Supply and “Friendlee” and who is a well-known personality in Northeast Texas, and I decided an outdoor get together would be nice. We wanted the event to be outdoors, where we could have a campfire for folks to gather, drink cowboy coffee and sample some outdoor cooking, such as Dutch Kettle blackberry cobbler and pork fajitas. Our first event was much fun, and a good crowd showed up. Last weekend, the crowd from the first year tripled.

Boone County Fire battles 35 fires in 3 days

The first call was on Saturday at 11 a.m. Boone County firefighters battled five large nature fires burning at the same time across the county for as long as 14 hours. 
"We started putting out do not burn requests earlier in the weekend, even on Thursday and Friday of last week, telling people that this was not a good time to be burning because things are so dry out there," Blomenkamp said.
The fire district responded to 11 fires in total on Saturday. Over a 9-hour time span, the district sent 50 firefighters and 30 pieces of equipment.
On Sunday, the district responded to 12 more fires, which involved 60 firefighters and 31 pieces of equipment over a 10-hour period.
