Princess Diana sent a thank you note to Burt Reynolds for keeping her name out of the headlines during his very public split from ex-wife Loni Anderson.
The long-standing rumour was confirmed by Loni, 75, herself during Thursday's episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Burt, who died aged 82 in 2018, claimed in his 2015 memoir that Diana had thanked him for distracting the press with his highly-publicised divorce in 1993.
When quizzed on the rumour during a segment where fans got a chance to ask Loni questions, she confirmed that Diana had personally thanked Burt.

Actor Burt Reynolds' remains find home at Hollywood cemetery

Burt Reynolds finally reached his final resting place on Thursday (Feb 11) at a storied Hollywood cemetery in Los Angeles.
A small, private ceremony, with relatives taking part remotely via Zoom, was held Thursday morning at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, where Reynolds' cremated remains were placed in a grave next to a lake nearly 2 1/2 years after his death.
A temporary headstone simply reading "Burt Reynolds” now marks the site, but a bronze or stone bust of him is being commissioned, with hopes that it can be unveiled and opened to the public in September on the third anniversary of his death, Hollywood Forever president and co-owner Tyler Cassity told The Associated Press.

The Motion Picture & Television Fund and BrightFocus Foundation announced a special Valentine’s virtual concert featuring acclaimed multi-hyphenate and Grammy-nominated vocalist Seth MacFarlane in support of the two nonprofits working together on research and care around Alzheimer’s disease. This a collaboration rooted in science and compassion.
Valentine’s Concert with Seth MacFarlane: An Evening of Songs Benefiting MPTF and BrightFocus Foundation will be live streamed on Variety.com at 7:00 p.m. Pacific, 10:00 p.m. Eastern on February 13, and will offer a way to connect and share community with music and mission during these unprecedented and difficult times.
