party-goers well into the investigation. new details on the deadly bart officer shooting. the officer who mistakenly shot his fellow officer reportedly mistook him for an armed suspect. according to the san francisco chronicle, law enforcement sources say detective michael maes made a split second misjudgment. investigators tell the paper it appears two factors contributed to the shooting the apartment's unusual circular layout and the two entrances to the bathroom. police say maes shot sergeant smith on tuesday as they conducted a probation search into a dublin apartment. a new search for a 14-year- old teen accused of shooting and killing his 17-year-old sister. cristina rendon spoke to the boy's father, who is worried that the teen may be in danger. >> reporter: family of mario appears that the driver of a toyota rav4 crossed over the double yellow line and crashed into a lincoln navigator. the 30-year-old woman driving the toyota was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. a boy and a girl in the backseat of the lincoln were airlifted to children hospital as a precaution. people rallied in downtown san francisco in the 10th walk for life. >> the anti-abortion credit card hackers. kutv's debora villalon is live in san mateo and tells us this time the credit card information was stolen from the popular carats retailer michael's. >> reporter: there are 20 michael's stores in the bay area and more than 1200 nationwide. it's the biggest chain for arts and crafts, and now has a project of its own. >> i'm throwing a first birthday party for my daughter. our theme is stars. >> reporter: she spends hundreds of dollars monthly at michael's on her paper crafts business and to hear customers' payment information may have been stolen. >> i do use a credit ceo is urging. in an open letter, describing a potential issue with a data security attack, asking customers to "remain vigilant as the scope of the breach is investigated." >> superhigh-end neiman another retailer slipped up. >> free money, if people are going to steal they will steal from the big corporation and i guess it's better it's isn't local mom and pop stores. >> a huge percentage of reporter: michael's has not said how many credit cards may be affected or how far back it goes. three years ago hackers swapped out the pin pads at dozens of stores and stole almost 100,000 accounts. step of the way. . new details tonight about the shooting in maryland that turned a crowded mall into a scene of chaos and fear. police say the gunman walk into a skate shop and opened fire, killing two employees. one of those killed was 21-year- old brianna benolo. on her instagram account benolo describes herself as a mother and sister and says "live every day like today." the second victim was identified as 25-year-old tyler johnson. police have not yet released the name. gunman, but today said his bag held what they called crude attempts to make closive devices out of fireworks. as scott tompson tells us those in the mall as the shootings happened described it as terrifying. >> i saw three people shot fall. everybody ducked to the ground and i heard more than ten shots are police are investigating the fatal shooting that left three dead in a columbia, maryland mall according to police a man carrying a shotgun walked to the skate shop and killed two employees a man and woman and then himself. >> we do not know what caused the shooting exempt incident. >> reporter: when the gunshots rang out, customers and employees scattered or took shelter wherever they could. >> so i news. >> authorities say the boogie boardyer killed during high surf along the santa cruz coast had been warned of the dangers. 4-year-old james zenkf mountain view. sheriff's deputies say zenk was the median, crossed into the oncoming lanes of traffic and struck the pge power box before slamming into the side of this the home. the car rolled and landed into the yard next door. the crash knocked out electricity to five homes. pge crews spent the day restoring power. hazmat crews had to clean up the oil that poured out of transformer and homeowners had a lot to clean up too. >> my garage door is gone and half of my things were crashed into their house. >> reporter: cause of the crash is under investigation, but a resident says the driver's brother came back this morning to apologize. >> he said that his brother swerved to miss a car and i guess he overcorrected. >> reporter: eight hours after the crash, this mother still hadn't even noticed what happened. >> she is on medication. she just got out of hot and she slept through the whole thing, like the whole thing. she is still sleeping. >> reporter: there were a total of five people in the homes when the crash happened and no one into the woman at mission and 30th streets around 8:00 p.m. bell was arrested on suspicion of dui and hit-and-run. the 35-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with life- threatening injuries. a
