was a category 1 hurricane. but they are now saying this region leg see this type of level of this storm for every seven years. for the poor people in plaquemines parish, what are they demanding? or what will they be demanding once this water recedes? >> the geography of this place, there's kind of a ring of protection, and that's what so many taxpayer dollars have gone to to fortify, but then plaquemines is the outlier. it's a long, thin county or parish that goes down south from almost the city limbs down into the gulf. it's just switchy, marsh, bayou, and they're more or less on their for the rains to lift out of here. even some showers and thunderstorms the bigger rains, that depression, that low, while the storm system is unwinding, you can see the showers extending through kentucky, even through areas of tennessee. saturday, there the showers move in, and sunday i think especially for the afternoon, monday right now, yes labor day we're talking tropical showers around our area. we're still days out, so it's hard to tell exactly where the heaviest rain will be setting up, but we are talking about the possibility of some rain at least 50 to 60% chance, don't go changing your plans just yet, but we are looking at at least some rain, 885 a high on saturday, 80 on monday, so again best chance of rain will be on monday, the latter part of this weekend. >> the beach is a fine area to go to. why not? certainly it will be nice. you want the last hurrah in, right? outside today, we had temperatures plenty toasty. if you want to wait for them to cool off before going out, we'll be dropping down to the mid 80s. a clear sky now, it's been toasty warm. in fact today was our hottest day since august 5th. we got up to 97 degrees, we're now at 96. west winds at 10 miles per hour, and again low humidity. the dew point temperatures under 60 degrees, so we are comfortable, but but this upcoming weekend we're going to move into slightly humid air, and to be turn more humid. you can see the early part of the showers around cincinnati, the bulk of the rain as the storm system starts to under wind, some moderate, heavy rain into missouri, around illinois, even been some isolated flooding there. what we're going to see this upcoming weekend is a weather front push in to help squeeze some of those tropical rains our way. and around the shenandoah valley. that front warrick out around us, and better chance foss shower on, but month carries the highest possibly. in the tropics too, we're keeping an eye on two storm, kirk, it's a been such a shock for the media, too, because -- and the fans, we've been talking about hightower as being a lock. he's been sitting out most of the preseason a blown niece took him out of the lineup. he did return in preseason game 3 this years versus the colts and picked up 28 yards on five carries. his first run in that game, late second quarter, an explosive 18-yard gain. it looked like he had returned to form. he doesn't even dress for the final exhibition game. everybody assumed, again, he was a lot. bad assumption, apparently. hightower is the biggest surprise. he's not the only one. we'll have more at 6:00. now to the nationals, steve strasburg is not the only pitcher people are talking about. another guy making headlines because of what's expected of him this draw drew storen, that in the end, but it really feels good. we'll see how it fans out. >> you've proven you're an effective closer. how do you compare the roles? is there just as much pressure in the eighth as the ninth? >> a lot of times the game is on the line in the eighth. just like i watched cliff do it last year, he locked down a lot of games and i came in and podished everything up. the hitters' approach will be different, but other than that, the appreciate i put on myself is all the same. >> tyler clifford must be one of the happiest guys, that you're doing so well and are back. i know he doesn't everybody on this department would do the same thing. >> reporter: between breathing, he talked to the woman to help her stay calm, but the apartment was about to reach a flash point. the carpet had begin to bubble from the heat. he was met by even more smoke and flames. i closed it. said a quick prayer, god help me get out of this. >> it was super-heated air and gases that rushed out of the on the fairfax county parkway, and should consumers be concerned about radiation leaking from your friday? we're going to ask liz all these things. >> thank you. the first question from denise. why don't public school buses have seat belts? >> good question. the national highway traffic safety administration filled us in. it says that seat belts are important for keeping people safe in passengers cars and trucks. while the government does allow seat belts on large school buses, it does not require them. that's because large school buses are heavier and handle crashes differently, so experts design buses using a concept called compartmentalization, that means padded energy-absorbing seats spaced closely together to create com parts so children are protected. >> i was going to take your badge off. we always end up on the air with those things. that would be the question. you can't get in any door without using that badge. we are so locked down here. >> sorry. >> our next comes from a viewer name lisa. why did the route numbers change from 7100 -- i remember that one, to 286. >> we turn to the virginia department of transportation for this answer. it says the route nim better changed from 7100 to 286 because the road was changed from a secondary room to a primary road earlier this year. as a primary road, the parkway can receive federal funding for pavement improvements and other prosdwrekts. roads can be considered for primary road status if they meet the majority of certain criteria like carrying a minimum traffic volume. the prince william county parkway and springfield parkway also became primary roads earlier this year. >> i just want to know that the lady on my gps is up to date, knows that and isn't going to tell me to take a route on 7100. >> just figure out where you are. >> well, that's different. our last question is from a viewers name jennifer. she had some issue with his her microwave oven. can you tell if it's leaking radiation? >> well, the food & drug administration gave us this answer. it says there is little concern about excess microwave leakage, unless the door handles, latches or seals are damaged. in the fda tests most microwaves showed little or no detectible leakage. if you think there might be a probable obviously contact your manufacturer or state health department, and a word of caution about devices that claim to test the radiation, the fda says don't buy them. they're typically unreliable. all right. well, have a nice weekend. >> and i'll take my back with me. >> so you can get out of
