Gene activity analysis helps to classify brain diseases: Study

Yashar Zeighami's research at McGill University in Canada gives a novel technique to characterise brain illnesses. The study, published in the open-access journal PLOS Biology, indicates that comparing transcriptomes (the map of activity for all genes in the genome) associated with different brain diseases can help us understand the mechanisms behind the diseases, as well as why certain ones are comorbid.
