Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial is set to begin in the Senate this week, and while it will likely end in the former president’s acquittal, it will also be a revealing inflection point for the Republican Party.
Most Republican Senators have already signaled their willingness to acquit Trump—all but five signaled in a vote last month that they believe trial itself is unconstitutional since Trump has already left office. But the upcoming arguments will determine how Republicans will go on the record in siding with Trump.

Mr Trump continued by claiming the hearing was a “blatant attempt at free media attention”, and claimed the union has a “dismal record”.
He added: “This letter is to inform you of my immediate resignation from SAG-AFTRA. You have done nothing for me."
In response, the union issued a brief response and said: “Thank you.”
Ms Carteris issued a more detailed rebuttal, and cited the January 6 Washington riot from Trump supporters.
She alleged: “Donald Trump attacked the values that this union holds most sacred - democracy, truth, respect for our fellow Americans of all races and faiths, and the sanctity of the free press.

Icepack | Feb. 4-11 - Philadelphia Weekly

Icepack | Feb. 4-11
One lawyer who visited Jeffery Epstein in jail days before his suicide (Hey, isn’t that from “Godfather 2?”); one Montgomery County DA who declined to arrest Bill Cosby in 2005 after Andrea Constand filed her lawsuit against the Cos (hey, doesn’t that sound like something DA Krasner would do?); the men charged to lead Trump’s legal defense team in the upcoming impeachment trial: Come on down, Philly’s Bruce L. Castor and David Schoen.
If there is shiftiness to be had, the footprints of Castor and Schoen’s are muddy and still warm. And no matter if you’re on the Left, Right or what you believe in regard to a constitutional matter such as impeachment, WTF is with Trump and lawyers? Does Trump choose guys like Rudy Giuliani and Castor to make himself look less goofy or guilty? A thought. Carry on.

Matt Gaetz Would Resign to Defend Donald Trump in Impeachment Trial—If The Ex-President Asked

Matt Gaetz Would Resign to Defend Donald Trump in Impeachment Trial—If The Ex-President Asked
On 2/3/21 at 1:56 PM EST
told War Room Pandemic, a podcast hosted by Steve Bannon, that he would give up his seat in Congress if Trump requested he be part of his legal defense.
"If the president called me and wanted me to go defend him on the floor of the Senate, that would be the top priority in my life," Gaetz said.
He continued, "I would leave my House seat, I would leave my home, I would do anything I had to do to ensure that the greatest president in my lifetime—one of the greatest presidents our country has ever had, maybe the greatest president our country has ever had—got a full-throated defense that wasn't crouched down, that wasn't in fear of losing some moderate Republican senator but that was worthy of the fight that he gave to the great people of this country for four years."

: "[T]he Biden administration plans to significantly raise the cap on refugees allowed into the United States every year, according to two people familiar with its plans who spoke on the condition of anonymity to disclose private discussions. The goal, the people said, was to raise the annual cap on refugees to 125,000 per year," per Nick Miroff, Seung Min Kim and Maria Sacchetti.
"That would be a substantial change from the Trump administration, which slashed refugee levels to 15,000 last year — the lowest since the Refugee Act establishing the caps took effect under the Reagan administration."
