2021 Taiwan Literature Award offers NT$3.7 million in prizes | Taiwan News

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The new-look 2021 Taiwan Literature Award is calling for submissions from April 15 and offers prizes of up to NT$3.7 million (US$130,000).
The award is organized by the National Museum of Taiwan Literature. And there are two competition categories: The Golden Award for published books, and the Creative Writing Award for writing in one’s mother tongue.
The idea of the awards is to pay tribute to the many excellent works of literature produced in Taiwan and to encourage the creation of original works. In addition, the hope is that the revamped awards will revitalize the nation’s literary community.

Seven Kings writer Sukh Brar is among the 30 people selected for the 2021 London Writers Awards.

A writer from Seven Kings is among the winners of the London Writers Awards, which highlights under-represented voices in publishing.
Sukh Brar, 35, was listed among the 30 writers who have been selected from more than 250 submissions by Spread the Word, a write development agency.
Sukh Brar developed his passion as a writer after taking a sabbatical from his day job as a chemical engineer and has racked up a number of writing prizes since then.
