adults in the uk spent an average of more than three—and—a—half hours online every day during the pandemic — far longer than people in germany, france or spain, according to the media regulator 0fcom. its annual report says the pandemic accelerated a shift to online. our technology correspondent rory cellan—jones has more. as the pandemic arrived, life moved online, whether it was exercising via youtube, ordering food via a few clicks rather than leaving home... do this! for the lee family, that meant entertaining themselves making tik—tok videos. as well as endless hours on video calls for harrison and darcy's studies and dad paul's work. i think the biggest thing is just more consumption. i'm on my phone more. 0bviously i'm a student so i would have to go on my laptop and do online lecturing, online seminars. everything is just online.

as well as endless hours on video calls for harrison and darcy's studies and dad paul's work. i think the biggest thing is just more consumption. i'm on my phone more. 0bviously i'm a student so i would have to go on my laptop and do online lecturing, online seminars. everything was just online. there was no face to face. during lockdown it gave us an opportunity to actually do some activities with the family, the young adults. instead of going shopping, they'd spend the whole day learning some dance routines and videoing! have some fun. so for me as a father, it was a great opportunity to do some child bonding, i suppose. what did you think of that, harrison? i loved it. most people think, oh, dad, don't get involved, you are so embarrassing! but actually i kind of egged him on to get involved! you got me involved.

As a comic book character, Wanda Maximoff has an origin story too convoluted to get into here. As a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she has an origin that can be boiled down to a simple idea: She is a child of television.

It’s well established that any actor doing an interview about an upcoming project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has to safely navigate a minefield of potential spoilers. Even so, when
Variety recently talked with Teyonah Parris about her role in Marvel’s ongoing Disney Plus series “WandaVision,” a seemingly innocuous question about director Nia DaCosta — who was hired to direct the upcoming Marvel feature film “Captain Marvel 2” — seemed to momentarily catch Parris off guard, as if she wasn’t sure whether she’d unwittingly stepped on another mine.

Top Story
February 7, 2021
LONDON: Storm Darcy is set to bring heavy snow and gale force winds to parts of England, while cold air from Russia will make the first February weekend feel anything but spring-like.
Forecasters have issued yellow warnings for snow covering the length of Britain from Saturday, with a more serious amber warning in place for Scotland’s central Highlands.
Rain is expected to move westwards over the UK throughout the day, with heavy falls early through Lancashire and across into the West Riding.
The storm has also led the Met Office to issue an amber warning for snow for the south-east of England from early on Sunday morning.
