Hillary Clinton says 'lessons still to be learned' from 9/11

Hillary Clinton on Sunday said there are “lessons still to be learned” from the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, noting the country’s unity following the terrorist attacks. “We have also, I think, been reminded about how important it is to try to deal with extremism of any kind, especially when it uses violence to try to achieve political and ideological goals,” Clinton said during an interview with co-anchor Dana Bash on CNN’s “State of the Union” on the 21st anniversary of the attacks.

Hillary Clinton said the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan could lead to the "resumption of activities by terrorist groups"
Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned of "huge consequences" of President Joe Biden's decision to withdraw American troops from Afghanistan.
Mrs Clinton told CNN there was a risk the Taliban - the Islamist group ousted in 2001 by the US-led invasion - could retake control.
The US aims to complete the withdrawal by 11 September.
However, the Taliban have been carrying out more attacks.
"This is what we call a wicked problem," Mrs Clinton told CNN. "There are consequences both foreseen and unintended of staying and of leaving," she said.

Hillary Clinton: Biden less 'constrained' than Clinton and Obama due to prior administration
Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton gave her assessment of President Biden's first 100 days in an interview aired on Sunday where she said Biden was less "constrained" than previous Democratic presidents due to the prior administration.
While appearing on CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS," host Fareed Zakaria asked Clinton how she felt about Biden's wide-reaching proposals so far, noting that her husband, former President Clinton, had once said in a State of the Union address that "the era of big government is over."

Hillary Clinton calls for women to 'repair' COVID-19's 'damage' on women's rights
Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton called on women on International Women's Day to "repair the damage" to lead to a "better trajectory" for women's rights following the COVID-19 pandemic.
During a virtual fundraiser on Monday, Clinton said the coronavirus pandemic and its economic impacts have "set us back across the world" on women's rights by "disproportionately" affecting women.
"They have been disproportionately affected by COVID and the economic consequences of it around the world," she said. "We're seeing more women leaving school. We're seeing more child brides. We're seeing an increase globally in domestic violence."

Joe Biden’s inauguration isn’t just a relief in terms of politics. It’s also a relief in terms of style: After four years of Scotch-taped ties and generally upsetting aesthetics, we can finally expect some more appealing visuals. At Biden’s swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday, he, along with Vice President Kamala Harris, their families, and other attendees, gave us our first official glimpse at what the fashion of the Biden years might have in store. And it was pretty spectacular, honestly.

Hillary Clinton lauds Kamala Harris's 'historical and amazing' swearing-in
Hillary Clinton lauded Vice President Harris's historic swearing-in on Wednesday, saying that she looks forward to Harris's grand-nieces one day viewing a woman serving as vice president as "normal" and "obvious."
"It delights me to think that what feels historical and amazing to us today-a woman sworn in to the vice presidency-will seem normal, obvious, 'of course' to Kamala's grand-nieces as they grow up. And they will be right," Clinton tweeted Wednesday, before Harris was sworn in as the first Black, Asian American and female vice president.
