Community Foundation awards $176,880 in community stabilization grants

Sentinel Staff
HOLLAND — The Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area (CFHZ) announced Thursday $176,880 in grant awards through its Community Stabilization Fund.
The grants awarded focus on three areas of investment — financial stability, mental health and substance abuse and education.
Good Samaritan Ministries received $50,000 to continue its eviction diversion program. The program helped 487 families remain in their homes in 2020, and will have an opportunity to receive additional federal funds to continue and expand upon that work.
Community Action House was awarded a $15,000 grant to increase the amount of food secured through its “food rescue” efforts. The funding helped CAH procure equipment needed to increase their efforts by 17,500 pounds of feed every month.
