evidence about that. he was getting out of his car when that tree fell. he passed away. >> ainsley: near clemson. check in with janice dean for fox weather forecast. >> janice: terrible stories. we had over 1,000 reports of severe weather yesterday including areas stretching from the mid-atlantic up towards the northeast. we still have the risk for stronger storms for new england. let's take a look at the maps and i will show you where we have the radar. actually, those are the temperatures right now. so still quite humid, but that system is going to exit the coast. and then we are also dealing with a new system across the plain states and that's going to bring the risk for hail, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, we already have a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for parts of oklahoma. and there are the flood alerts for the northeast. so heavy rain in the forecast still for new england, we will watch that and it has been a summer, a wet summer for a lot of these areas, historically wet. in terms of severe weather today, stretching from the central plains across the mississippi valley in towards
in on the islands in the eastern caribbean. check in with senior meteorologist janice dean for fox weather forecast. janice? >> janice: several reports mentioned for texas and colorado. take a look the a them. one of them being deadly just south of childers, texas and several across the rockies several areas getting hit today with risk of zoar to storm storms. tornadoes, heavy rain fall, flash flooding, heavy hail and damaging winds. you can see the map. rain and thunderstorms pretty much everywhere you look across the west, the great basin, texas, gulf coast, southeast, mid-atlantic up towards the northeast. and this is tropical storm bret. this is the latest 70 mile-per-hour sustained winds. 74 makes it a hurricane. moving across the lesser antilles. tomorrow we have a hurricane warning in effect for st. lucia and then down south that's where we have our tropical storm watch. the other big headline is the relentless heat across texas.
yucky, take a look at it. it's raining, it's windowy. looking at coastal flood advisories. this is actually the remnants of what was ian, part of it anyway. and it's going to continue to bring heavy rain all along the northeast coast, the mid-atlantic up towards new england for the next 12 to 24 hours my friend. so, delays are going to be imminent across the northeast. and cooler temperatures, we actually might set record high lows so it's going to be like in the 50's for a lot of these areas. and then the warm temperatures hang onto the southern plains. the central u.s. and of course we are continuing to watch the recovery in florida, fort myers really nice it's, dry conditions, warm temperatures i know a lot of folks are without power. so, of course, our prayers and our thoughts are with our friends in florida. we are still tracking the tropics, a couple of disturbances out there. lesser antilles 30 to 40% chance of development. the bottom line is we are still into hurricane season. all right, steve, ainsley, brian, over to you.

because of the warm temperature is. which means some folks are having a beautiful sunday in front of that system. a couple weather makers. one of them has been absolute downpours across the gold coast, stretching toward portions of the southeast. that rain will continue to move off the coast eventually but it still raining and a lot of spots. if you live in the northeast, you've noticed a mix of wintry weather with rain stretching from the mid-atlantic up toward portions of maine. that's where you're still seeing someof the snow been in the system that causes those tornadoes, that's stretching back toward portions of the planes and into the midwest. it's that leading edge where the air is the warm enough where you so see those downpours and tornadoes. the backside, they are talking about winter weather. there's cold air behind it and winterwatches and advisories in place and some of the planes states. this will move a little bit. i do think it loses some of its gusto . it dries out and you continue to see some rain and snow.

1300 today, 700 of those in dallas ft. worth. where we had the ice two days ago and they can't seem to escape the deep freeze. luke, back to you. >> indeed. thanks, jim. time for the weather channel's paul goodloe. what's coming up? >> as jim mentioned we're expecting more snow across the northeast. he was in boston and the snow was pushing out of there but we're still seeing rain. this is the moisture for the next system. as you mentioned we could see some areas picking up 2 or 3 or 5 or 6 inches of snow. new hampshire and ver metropolitmont and maine. the rest of the i-95 corridor is drying out unless you head into areas of virginia. forecast for tonight, more rain showers here but as the moisture continues and cold air starts to settle back in again, we'll start seeing snow. once kben from mid-atlantic up through philly and into new york city and hart ford and boston,
should clear up, but in these areas you are very vulnerable for flooding, so just be very, very careful. so flash flooding is possible downstream around the manitou springs area. because this is mount now, the moisture gets squeezed, and that brings even more potential moisture for this region. so just a heads up for the next several days, you could see the potential for flooding. speaking of flooding, we're seeing it across the central u.s., the midwest where they have seen inches and inches of rain, and here in the northeast we have seen flash flooding in and around pennsylvania, the philadelphia area. flash flood warnings in effect right now. just saw some pictures in and around philadelphia of incredible amounts of rain in a short period of time. so we'll keep an eye on this. the potential for severe weather today across the mid atlantic up towards new england where we could see damaging winds, hail, even isolate ared tornadoes and heavy downpours. so, again, don't travel across water you cannot see the bottom
