we all jumped and all looked at each other and didn't know what to do. and i think we heard another one, and that's what made him like yell at us, like, run, go. >> the shooter has been identified as 17-year-old dylan butler, a student at perry high school. butler was armed with a pump action shotgun, and a small caliber handgun. >> reporter: police say butler, seen in this photo posted to social media before the shoot i ing, shot and killed a sixth grader who was at the high school for a breakfast program, wounding five others and the school's principal. before taking his own life. ninth grader anthony ubaldo saw the suspect in the bathroom before the shooting. >> it's traumatizing, because honestly he could have just killed me then and there, and i wouldn't be here right now. >> reporter: law enforcement scooping sweeping the school, finding an improvised explosive device, as terrified parents raced to the scene. >> it is very tough. it's overwhelming.

i would also add that republicans are incessantly talking about preserving our children's youth. this is a precious time in life that's what we can have certain books on their shelves, while we can have drag queen story hour. whatever it is. if you're telling me that you don't think that having armed guards all over our preschools isn't robbing children of the youth? i don't know what to tell you. that is more traumatizing than any line that i've read in any book. >> jesse: more traumatizing than this? >> it has been proven that this is a solution this a very different case it's a private school, a religious school as katie mentioned with a biological female shooter less than 1% of the shootings that go on in this country are women to carry them out. i want more facts on it. of these guns, the two guns i think one was illegal but to gain legally many here all the time we disease the laws that are in the books, note the laws were not good enough.
