The Food and Drug Administration will soon authorize the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for adolescents ages 12-15, who could be eligible to receive the shots as early as next week, according to media reports.
The New York Times was the first to report about the FDA's impending authorization on Monday, which has been widely expected. CNN also reported the development.
The highly anticipated decision, which is likely to be supported by the Centers for Disease Control and prevention, would allow most middle and high school students to get vaccinated before summer camps and the start of the 2021-22 school year.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida is out with a new 60-second ad, aiming to rally support for a new gaming Compact with the state. The ad drops around two weeks before a Special Legislative Session will convene to finalize that agreement.
The new minute long-spot, titled “
The Seminole Story,” highlights existing economic benefits from the current gaming structure and argues the new compact will expand those benefits.
“Amid a storm of challenge and loss, this Florida story gave rise to hope and our spirit to persevere,” the ad’s narrator begins.

Biden radical leftist charge dismissed as empty political rhetoric

Tallahassee’s two congressman clashed Thursday morning when asked about President Joe Biden’s first address to Congress Wednesday night.
Congressman Al Lawson, D-Tallahassee, who represents most of the city, applauded Biden for reaching out to the “common guy” with a speech to mark his first 100 days in office.
His Republican counterpart, Congressman Neal Dunn of Panama City, who represents northeast Tallahassee, jeered Biden and said he promotes the “Left’s radical agenda.”
Biden rejected a small-government approach to recovery from a worldwide pandemic when he outlined a proposed $1.8 trillion plan. It would shift the focus of economic and social-welfare policy to the working and middle classes.

Hello and welcome to Tuesday. It’s 4/20 – and apparently a proposed bill that would cap THC in medical marijuana is dead.
The daily rundown — Between Sunday and Monday, the number of Florida coronavirus cases increased by 4,237 (nearly 0.2 percent), to 2,173,138; active hospitalizations increased by 120 (3.6 percent), to 3,444; deaths of Florida residents rose by 32, to 34,471; 8,069,752 Floridians have received at least one dose of a vaccine
Waiting
— It’s not clear exactly when voters will get to pick a successor to the recently-deceased Rep. Alcee Hastings. But that isn’t stopping the ripple effects around the South Florida congressional seat.

In every Session, there are clear winners and losers, while others prove more elusive to pin down.
Once again, Florida Politics is assembling an (arguably) comprehensive look at who walked away from Sine Die 2021 victorious, who tanked, and who landed somewhere in between.
Of course, there is the one bill lawmakers must pass: Florida’s upcoming state budget.
Crafted in the ever-present shadow of COVID-19, a budget for the fiscal year 2021-2022 came with a new wrinkle — the state’s slice of a massive federal relief pie. Who does it help, or maybe hurt?
