Bipartisan Senate Caucus Rules Out Tax increase on infrastructure.

by Michael London | 06/09/2021 2:44 PM
In the wake of Wednesday's infrastructure package breakdown, the Bipartisan Senator group removes tax increases from infrastructure discussions to keep negations active.

President Joe Biden offered Senate Republicans an alternative to the tax hikes he initially proposed to pay for a sweeping infrastructure plan. Part of his attempt to find a bipartisan agreement was based on two sources briefed on the proposal.
In a meeting Wednesday with Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, the lead Republican negotiator, Biden insisted that tax increases pay for most of the plan but signaled he was willing to back a smaller increase than he had initially requested.

Biden and Putin Will Meet to Confront Increasing Political Tensions

by Michael London | 05/25/2021 1:25 PM
President Biden will meet with Russian President Putin in Geneva, Switzerland, in three weeks while the president is in Europe for the G7 and NATO summits in the U.K. and Brussels.

Next month, U.S. President Joe Biden will meet face-to-face with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Geneva, Biden’s first meeting with Putin as president. The summit in Geneva will be taking place in the early months of the Biden presidency when complex relations between the U.S. and Russia are increasing.
This summit is being tacked on as an afterthought to President Biden’s first foreign trip next month, including a visit to the United Kingdom to meet with members of the Group of Seven (G-7) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services recommends all COVID-19 vaccine providers to start vaccinating children ages 12 to 15 after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control recommended the Pfizer vaccine’s administration to the age group, according to Michigan State Police.
“It’s great news to have a safe and effective vaccine available to protect younger Michiganders as we work to eliminate COVID-19 once and for all,” says Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. “As a parent, I encourage all parents with children in this group to have a conversation with your family doctor about the vaccine as soon as possible.”
