faces 7 counts of murder with special circumstances and three counts of attempted murder. he could be therefore eligible for the death penalty. vic lee tonight on the prosecution's case against go and the motive. >> 43-year-old juan go was you ushered into a glass closure in the far corner of the courtroom. i showed no emotion as a judge read the charges against him. after the brief court hearing the district attorney nancy o'malley told reporters the murders were brutal and vicious. >> the scope is unprecedented here in alameda county. the defendant went to the school with a .45 caliber weapon. he also had four fully loaded magazines of ammunition. >> he was apparently upset with the school and left in november with his tuition fully paid. >> there is some information that the defendant wanted some money back for tuition he had pay. >> we also have an explanation of why he left abruptly after the shooting. >> our indication that he just left. he just was not able to it continue the pattern because some people had left the building already and there were calls being made to 911. we know that one of our officers was around the corner and contacted by someone about something happening at the building. i suspect that he knew that we were on the way and just left. >> reporter: he has confessed to the murders and is cooperating with investigators even though he doesn't appear to be remorseful. his motive appears to be revenge. he was angry at a female school administrator who he believed had wronged him and they believe she may have been the target of his violent rage. he had a grudge against classmates for teasing him about his broken english and behavior. he was deeply in debt but has no criminal record. his last job before he enrolled at the college was here at the korean supermarket where he worked with his father. store management declined to comment. he had previously worked at an asian food wholesale distributor. he was fired because the owner said he was not the right person for the job. the district attorney o'malley said in her news conference today emphatically that authorities believe he acted alone. he is back in court april 30 to enter a plea. vic lee, abc 7 news. now, the apparent target of the monday shooting ram page confirms tonight he tried several times to get a refund after dropping out of oikos university. the director of the school nursing program anda also a teacher at cal state east bacon firmed today that he was angry when she told him he could not get a full refund. she told the associated press that he was never forced out. he showed no behaviorial problems and was never asked to leave the program. she is distrout and would not go on camera today but her roommate told us only one thing is on her mind. >> all she can focus on is those kids. her secretary was like her daughter, you know. and she is just trying to be supportive and that is how she is, be supportive of everything else before she thinks about herself. >> she was not at oikos university on monday because she was teaching offcampus. >> we are learning more about the victims of the shooting tonight. sharon was born in india near the mihm layian mountains injuries he was the only man killed in the rampage. doris was a native of nigeria where she was an attorney. married with three children and had hoped to some day practice medical law. kathleen ping of oakland was the receptionist at the university. she worked there for seven months to help support her parents, siblings and four-year-old son. 21-year-old lydia sim was a baby sitter at hayward baptist church and transferred to oikos to studygrace kim graduated frm pleasanton. 33-year-old from industriedia. the daughter of tibetan refugees. she worked for the ex- happened. >> e line up and started firing. when started we saw the lady, she fell from the chair and everybody scared. he came from backdoor. >> the 36-year-old sayeed says he and two other students managed to sprint out of the classroom and hide in another room nearby. they could hear more gunshots even after they escaped the class where juan barged in and started shooting. sayeed is from afghanistan. he is recovering from his gun shot wound with family here in the bay area. coming up at 11:00 on channel 7, the survivor story, you will hear that. for the moment we will move on to other news. a pedestrian height by a bicyclist last week in san francisco in the castro has died sadly. a rider collided with the 71-year-old at the corner of market and castro he streets thursday morning. witnesses told police he was in a cross walk and the bicyclist may have run a red light. no charges have been filed. the accident, though, is still under investigation. the sheriff's offense will conduct another search for see raria lamar tomorrow. search and rescue will concentrate on san martin and gilroy. k-9 units participating as well. despite 900 tips and 5,000 rsonnel hours searching puzzling because the new ceo scott thompson won't give out details about the future until it reports quarterly onings in two weeks. analysts aren't sure if he has a plan or are if he is preparing to sell yahoo. >> this looks shallow and long to looks like he may be learning on the job here. by the way, if you are doing layoffs for packaging for sale you want to go deep because you want the company to look as good as possible as quickly as possible. >> it will equal a savings of $375 million yearly after severance and other related expenses. that could go toward new products or services. >> you are not going to compete directly with google in search these days or g mail but maybe there is something else that is new that they will find. >> the money can also be eaten up by legal expenses. yahoo and facebook have sued each other over patent infringement. yahoo's largest shareholder called the layoffs necessary but blasted yahoo for doing this without first explaining its >> you might have fewer people coming from france. >> reporter: randolph would not speculate on the impact. but his often quoted report lists a $1.37 billion benefit. >> is it fair for people to still be quoting those numbers from your report?
