they have in many cases recovered or rediscovered their concerns about debt and deficits and they don't want to spend that much money. if it gets to that point, it would take a significant push from the president to convince republican senators to go along and it's not entirely clear, again, three and a half weeks until the election with the president trailing, they want to listen to him on a giant spending bill. watch that space if and when we get there with an actual deal or agreement. >> yamiche, i want to switch gears and talk about the president's rhetoric. president trump called for the indictment of his political enemies on the same day, on the same day there were arrests in connection with a plot to kidnap and put the michigan governor, quote, on trial. does the white house see the danger in the president's rhetoric? >> that's a really good question and the white house would say of course -- defend the president and say that there are people who will take his words out of context and that he doesn't mean actual harm to any of his political opponents.
