barricades and disrupting a bomb investigation. we bring you a live update from camp lejeune. we're learning about the heroes who died in that accident. rudy giuliani, his honor in the headlines again. the latest criticism of the president. the man hunt for the suspects in the shooting of two police officers. three people were taken into questioning but they were later released. this comes as mostly peaceful protests continued last night outside the ferguson police department. dozens gathered for a candle light vigil. in an appearance on abc jimmy kimmel live president obama condemned the violence. >> whoever fired those shots shouldn't detract from the issue they're criminals. they need to be arrested. >> missouri senator talked about the need to move forward on morning show. >> we've got to go back to the drawing board. there's healing going on and reform going on in ferguson. >> tremaine lee joins me from ferguson. what's the latest. >> reporter: even as the community deals with the sting of this violence, police have not identified any suspects in the shooting. yesterday they took a few folks into custody and questioned them but they later released them. there's been a number of rewards offered. crime stoppers has offered 10,000 leading to an arrest. >> now that we know six city officials have resigned or been fired in wake of the doj report. progress they were looking for. >> reporter: quite simply it's not enough. they not only want continued top ling of heads in this community, they say the mayor is next. i spoke to a few protesters and organizers just in the last hour. they are trying to garner the thousands signatures they believe they need to start a recall election. while there is slow progress people on the ground here want drastic, dramatic change and they're not going stop until they get it. >> thank you. the fraternity at the heart of racist chant is considering legal action against the university of oklahoma. the local chapter of sigma alpha episolon hired the attorney who represented tim mcvey. the national organization of the fraternity says they have not retained legal representation but issued a statement reading in part quote, certainly alumni may have retained legal representation but we cannot validate the reports. gabe joins me live from norman oklahoma. what do we know about the legal steps for the local chapter? what are they tried to do? >> reporter: there's been a lot of questions about how much was this the local chapter and how much was it the national chapter. the national chapter distanced themselves from this latest development. the local chapter of sae have decided to retain stephen jones who is a very well known attorney here in oklahoma. they have hired him to figure out what their options are including the possibility of legal action. we understand there's a news conference expected this amp with stephen jones. we might get a little more information from him. what he told our local affiliation, kfor is that the local members are very upset with how university officials have handled this. they say the two students who were in that video have been expel and apologized and their behavior is in the hospital representative of the entire chapter. university officials we did speak with them this morning. all they would say releasing a statement saying it would be inappropriate to comment on any pending litigation. again, the national fraternity is distancing itself right now from what the local chapter appears to be doing. >> the president said sae will never be on that campus as long as he's president. thanks. good to see you. . an american health care worker is in serious condition at the national institutes of health in maryland. we don't if the patient is a man or woman. the patient arrived early this morning after being transferred on a private charter. the nih can draw on first hand experience to keep that virus contained. the nih has cared for ebola patients before. >> our patient nina pham is free of ebola. >> reporter: last october nurse nina pham went home after successful treatment. >> dr. kent brantley contracted it while working in liberia last summer. >> i felt like i was about to die. >> he survived and donated his plasma to help others. the eight americans have lived. thomas duncan from liberia and dr. martin both sighed while being treated in u.s. hospitals. in west africa, the death toll stands at 10,000. there's still american health care workers on the ground there. it's one of those health care workers who contracted ebola and now he or she is here at the nih. we're learning more about the 11 servicemen killed in the helicopter crash off the coast of florida. both young men were from michigan. the names of other victims are expected to be released soon. a news conference is happening right now at camp lejeune. any word on what officials are speaking about. is it more about the recovery of the main wreckage? >> reporter: good afternoon. just a minute ago camp lejeune did release the names of those remaining marines. they have confirmed that captain stanford henry shaw iii and thomas saunders kerry kemp were the seven marines aboard the black hawk helicopter when it went down. any moment now we're expecting the salvage barge to arrive from mobile alabama. it's going to begin preps to lift the pieces of the helicopter up from this bottom of santa rosa bay. the operation should take eight hours. they will finishing up tonight. this is if the weather permits. we have been dealing with fog, rain and wind throughout the day. that's been hampering efforts ever since the chopper went down. crews need to lift the chopper up before they can recover the final two bodies of the national guards men, believed to be the pilot and co-pilot. they will get the choppers black box which investigators are hoping helps them discover more about how this accident happened. >> we're getting sound from major general. take a listen. >> these men were tremendous professionals. they were all combat veterans in afghanistan. they were all very very members of the family professional forces. >> that news conference continues to go on. we'll keep everybody posted on it. reporting for us there. thanks. new developments. significant developments in fight against isis. let's start off in iraq. the march to retake the city of tikrit has slowed. the prime minister believes victory is near. hundreds of isis fighters remain. they appear determined to turn this fight into a lengthty gor guerilla war. isis is waging war outside the city but today the group blew up an army headquarters by tunnelling underneath it. we learned an american soldier was wounded in iraq this week. he's the first service member wounded in the ongoing training and advise operation there. let's go to bill neally. bill, thank you for being with us. is it safe to say the liberation is inefvitable. >> reporter: going back to the testimony of the testimony he didn't quite use the word inevitable but he said it will fall. 24,000 men attacking tikrit. 20,000 are from iranian backed shiite. iraq's prime minister has been saying victory is close within a couple of days. one of those saying 75% of tikrit is in their hands and only a couple of hundred isis fighters left in the city. all of that is way too optimistic for two reasons. number one, isis has been exploding car bombs. there's been snipers, mortar fire. they are stalling the advance of those iraqi forces. there was a statement from the military command today saying we are not going any further until we have reenforcements which is pretty strange given the numbers i've just given you. if you have 254,000 men it seems strange you need reenforcement. it's not going according to plan and not going as smoothly as the iraqis would want. >> some sense significance defeat remains to be seen. >> this next piece of information is pifvotal to what's taking place. president obama has lashed out. we know 47 gop senators sent a letter to iran's supreme leader. it says new nuclear deal may be temporary. >> for them to address a litter who they claim is our mortal enemy and they're basic argument is don't deal with our president cause you can't trust him to follow through on an agreement. it's close to unprecedented. >> on thursday iran supreme leader said the letter concerned him. he said it may be part of the u.s. strategy to reverse part offense a deal at the last minute. the man who has made stopping the iran talks his do or die mission is now some trouble. then former new york city mayor rudy giuliani pointing the finger at president obama for a beating in brooklyn and the police shooting in ferguson and what's more, he says the president needs to be more like bill cosby. wait until you hear this. it's serious. toenail fungus?
