earlier in the week the organization defended the move. >> and the accusations being hurled at this organization are profoundly hurtful. >> reporter: and they plan to fund planned parenthood, nearly 700,000 last year, is used to fight breast cancer and planned parenthood also provides abortion, and the decision sparked a viral, mostly negative reaction on twitter, facebook and youtube. it also generated -- generated a flood of donations to planned parenthood. at last count, $3 million, more than four times komen's annual contribution. >> we have seen over the last few days in the outpouring of support send as real important message that women are willing to stand up for women and women's health. >> reporter: the komen officials denied they made the decision for political reasons saying it was part of a new policy preventing grants to organizations under investigation. planned parenthood is currently the subject of a probe by u.s. representative cliff sterns, a republican from florida. the officials from planned parenthood say they are enormously grateful that komen is chaining its rules. in washington, randall pinkston, wjz eyewitness news. >> we have local reaction to komen's about face coming up new at 5:00 and 6:00. baltimore county police get a break in the case of a fatal hit and run in perry hall. we have the latest on the case. baltimore county police say they found the car involved in the crash. the vehicle, a white ford 500 sedan like this one was located in hartford county. they believe it struck and killed the 68-year-old last month. a car stopped to allow moore to cross the road. the ford passed the stop vehicle, hit moore and fled the scene. baltimore county police are working with hartford county deputies to identify the person driving the car at the time of the accident. >> thank you. so far no arrests have been made in the crash. a man is in police custody today after leaving -- leading a state trooper on a dangerous trace. the 22-year-old is facing dui, assault and other charges. the trooper pulled him over on mountain road. and he sped away leading the trooper on a three-mile pursuit. during the chase the suspect's car rammed the police cruiser. the cruiser hit a fence and one of the rails came through the trooper's wind sled hitting him in the chest. the trooper is recovering from minor injuries. a judge and all four men accused of murdering a teenager at towson center. we have the unfolding investigation. >> reporter: all four of the men in custody in this case are charged with first-degree murder. the police arrested four men for a murder at towson town center just six days before christmas. and this is a childhood picture of the victim. 19-year-old rodney primp et. the police say a network of hundreds of cameras revealed the four suspects tracked his every move, stalking him through the mall before they say one of them, tyrone chester brown, who is also 19, shot him outside of in order are strom. >> the video -- nordstrom. >> the video footage in and around the mall was absolutely essential in helping us solve this case. we do not know why he was targeted, only that he was targeted. >> reporter: the police couldn't say whether this was a revenge killing." . the sun" reports he was involved in a robbery on york road about a year before his death and this is what they said about the suspects. >> one of the four suspects is in the mall, spots the victim, picks up his phone and calls his three buddies who are down off of york road in baltimore city. >> reporter: the victim's father told wjz he is heart broken but relieved. >> good. they need to be in jail. you can't go aren't here killing people, you know what i mean? thinking you can get away with it. and plus, my only son. i love him and i miss him. i see his face every night. >> reporter: this is the second murder at towson town center since 2005 when a beloved educator was killed during a botched robbery. the mall has an extensive network of surveillance cameras and a law passed after that 2005 killing led to even more cameras for sloppings -- shopping centers across baltimore county. the police praise their detectives saying they had to look at hour upon hour of footage. they said it was putting together the pieces of a puzzle making this case. wjz eyewitness news. new at 5:00, wjz has information on what was on that surveillance video and for the first time, you'll hear what the suspects are saying about the charges. a maryland track coach is accused of having sex with a 16- year-old girl on his team. and we're live in the news room with more on the coach and the school involved. jessica? >> reporter: montgomery county police say 47-year-old scott spear is free on bail today. she charged with two counts of fourth degree sex offense. he is a track and basketball coach at richard montgomery lice. the police say he had sex with a girl at a rockville home in april or may at least two times. >> the student was 16 years old. the coach was over 21 years of age, and he was in a position of authority. >> i am actually shocked. he was actually my teacher in eighth grade, and he was a cool dude. i didn't expect this to happen. >> reporter: a school spokesperson. says he is on administrative leave from teaching and coaching. mary? and meteorologist tim williams is updating your first warning forecast. a shoot-out near a taco truck in california is caughten cameras. two men come out from behind a truck and open fire on the truck's owner, but -- but the owner fights back and fires off a few shots from himself. he is recovering from his injuries and the police arrested the two men who attacked him. a california man is thankful for being alive after being almost crushed to death by his own car. >> what is your emergency? >> my dad was working on the car and then the car fell on him. >> reporter: that was the 911 call his daughter made when she found him stuck under his car in the driveway. the man was working on his car when it collapsed on top of him. the police arrived on the scene and were able to get a jack and then get the car off the man, pull him to safety. he suffered just a few minor injuries. did you notice a lot of people wearing red today? the american heart association is trying to raise awareness for heart disease in women. and in tonight's health watch report, we report for wjz it is the number one killer of women in the u.s. four years ago she has unusual pain. >> in my neck, jaws. >> reporter: but hours later she was rushed to the hospital, she was having a heart attack. >> they told me what i was having, and i couldn't believe it. >> reporter: more women than men die from heart disease each year. the cardiologist says that's because a lot of women don't recognize the first warning signs. >> women can often have different symptoms from men when they have a heart attack. typically men will come in more with their elephant sitting on my chest. >> reporter: women, on the other hand, can report neck, shoulder, upper back or jaw pain, and they also complain of nausea or vomiting, sweating or extreme fatigue. what trigger as heart attack also differs between him and men. doctors say emotional stress like the loss of a loved one or an argument is more likely to lead to a heart attack in women while physical stress leads to more heart problems than men. >> women come to the emergency room longer than men. the longer you wait, the more damage can occur and the damage can be irreversible. >> reporter: she has some advice for other women. don't ignore the warning signs, and get to the hospital sooner. >> if i knew then what i know now, i would have, you know, done something about it. >> reporter: and the 66-year- old is doing something now, controlling her blood pressure and cholesterol with medication and eating right. in new york, wjz eyewitness news. in the united states, nearly half a million women die every year from cardiovascular disease, more deaths than all cancers combined. a big end to the week on wall street. the illegal fungside the fda said it found in some supplies. >> it is friday. and will our unseasonable weather stick around for the weekend? j.z. 13 is always on. instant updates and first warning weather all the time, click wjz.com. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, >> it is really another beautiful day outside today. there was some wind that we had to deal with that came in last night, but really pretty. >> yes. you know the sun has been our friend. you know the sun, even if it is chilly, it is so much more comfortable. you go in the shade and the temperature drops. those winds, they calm down and now we're left with a pretty comfortable afternoon shaping up. 50 degrees right now, our temperature. keep in mind our perspective. our average high is 42. so another in the string of days above our average high. so 50 degrees right now. our temperature at bwi marshall. 27 is your dew point. the air is very dry. the relative humidity is at 40%. that dry air is going to play a part in our forecast for this weekend, and it is going to actually be our friend when we start to see the moisture from denver coming our way. let's explain how this is all going to play out. the high pressure is very high, 30.41. the barometer is still going up with high pressure in control. 44 now in oakland. 47 in hagerstown. 46 in easton. around the immediate metro area, we're really teetering on the mid 40s. and then 50 in columbia. 46 in annapolis and 46 on kent island and rock hall. the winds are coming in pretty light. we did have some double digit winds earlier ted and they have since calmed down. so a light wind from the northwest. typically it brings cooler air, and it is doing that today. we're not going anywhere near that 70-degree high. we're still above normal, but we're definitely on the cool side. we're tapping into some of these temperatures up around detroit, chicago. 38, 39 degrees. they're about 10 to 11 degrees cooler than we are. out in denver, one of the coldest spots on the map, as you can see. 27 that is under that low pressure system that is bringing them blizzard-like conditions. a lot of that moisture is going to be headed our way. it is going to lose a lot of the punch as it heads east. it is snow on the western edge of that. rain on the eastern side. as it starts to move in our area, we'll start to see the low dipping down under the mid atlantic that's going to happen saturday into sunday. we'll still be close enough to the cool air that it could pull some of that down and we could see maybe some light rain and snow showers mixed in saturday night into sunday, but the high pressure, the dry air we're talking about, it is going to eat up much of that. so most of that moisture, say, to our south, kind of coming on through here. we'll see rain, but it is not going to be any accumulation and maybe a light mix of snow and sleet, and then we start to clear out again. our sunset today is sat 5:29. there is a north wind on the bay at five to 10 knots. tonight it is going down to 32 degrees. partly cloudy a light wind. still a bit chilly. and then some sun tomorrow giving way to clouds as that system starts to make its way in, but another day of 50- degree temperatures. againno real problem saturday into sunday. but just don't be surprised if you see some mixture. >> okay. >> we won't scream. >> okay. >> warned. >> not 10 feet of snow. >> don't miss tonight's cbs prime time lineup. it is an episode of "blue bloods" followed by eyewitness news at 11:00. >> and scott pelly has an update of what is coming up tonight. and a candidate for governor who brings new meaning to the word polling, whose platform is plywood and whose signs are becoming the talk of the state. a refreshing take on politics tonight on the "cbs evening news." new mental evaluation. and will he ever stand trial for the arizona shooting that injured arizona congresswoman gaby giffords?
