to the campaign trail where former speaker of the house newt gingrich is officially throwing his hat into the ring. he's set to announce his entrance into the race for presidency on wednesday. he could have a lot of company real soon. neal bortz joins me now. hi there now. >> reporter: how are you doing. alison: he will announce his presidential bid via facebook and twitter on wednesday. that is a very sort of modern way to make this announcement. let's talk about the timing, why do you think he's doing it this week? >> reporter: well, turn back the clock too, could you imagine ten years ago an announcement that i'm going to announce for president on facebook and twitter? and immediately you'd be disqualified as being a loon. but i don't know why this week, maybe it's to step into a news void. we have somewhat of a news void going on. there is the osama bin laden

in fact last week was the first republican presidential debate and herman cane one of the new bees was seen as the winner because he kind of jumped off the stage more than anyone else. >> reporter: herman cane, like newt gingrich oddly enough has been a fill in host for my radio show. newt gingrich in the 70s. herrmann cane the last year, i know them both. i appreciate both of them. herman cane is a breath of fresh air. when people go to see herrmann cane deliver a speech they come out of that place as absolute believers. he is going to grab a lot of attention. he was on the board of federal reserve in kansas city. business, he's owned and opted several businesses very successfully. he is the real deal as they say, and i'm excited about him. alison: again he's the person as to your point who did get the most attention after the debate in some measure because he got
raises, like some of them may have merit like privacy and antitrust concerns. >> it would be like a company producing automobiles, providing oil, and building the highways. that company would basically control everything that happened in terms of transportation in the united states. we are in a similar situation today with the internet and google. >> reporter: others say google is just doing good business and uses the internet properly. the company has a list of privacy principles on its website and says it does handle information responsibly. alison: sounds like they may have to stop shrugging their shoulders soon. eric shawn, thank you so much. and we'll be right back. ugh, time to color.

was one case that we all knew about, the case of hanna polling where she was given millions of dollars because of her autism developed after a vaccine, but the government always made it sound as those hers was a one in a million case, a unique case but i guess not so much. >> reporter: that, that it's not so much. that is the whole thing. the question now becomes, is it not so much? and is the government maintaining their claim that this is a brain disorder, that they are paying these awards out for not the autism and that's the case the government has made up to this point. they are saying that it does not lead to autism, that it might lead to some kind of brain malfunction but it does not lead to autism. at least that is the claim. they are saying they will have the evidence to refute that tomorrow. alison: thanks so much for laying that all so well. we will be talking about that later in the show. as we were just talking about there was one high profile settlement about a year ago involving a girl by the name of hanna polling, she is the first
parents. you just want the information to get out there, that there is a risk to vaccines. >> there is a risk to vaccines. i'm assuming like we'll find out like with so many other things that there is interactions with genetics. i understand public good that there is often a few that suffer in the context of that. my problem is not taking care of the children that have been the casualties of this. to me that is completely immoral, and that's where the victimization happened to me, not in the fact that we were unfortunate to be one of the few that was injured. alison: stand by dr. bridges, because i want to bring in a doctor who is an assistant prove of surgery. she is a member of our medical a team. great to see you. i know for doctors it's always hard to hear parents draw this connection. because you don't want widespread panic of parents not vaccinating their children, but this is -- this is tough evidence to refute. >> it is tough when you see the
vaccines. now they are going to publish all of these findings tomorrow in the pace environmental law review, a highly regarded law review journal. we contacted the centers for disease control and they reiterated their stance saying again, quote, as far as the link between autism and vaccines, the overwhelming body of evidence to date from the best and brightest scientists at cdc and around the world simply does not point to association between autism and vaccines. so that is where the feds stand on this. the question is, where is the money coming from? the money comes from tax dollars. why is it being given to these autistic children, multi-million dollar awards at a time? we'll find out a lot more when the report is published and a lot of questions still to be answered. alison: we sure are, trace. this is a bombshell. we should mention that we're going to have one of the parents on with us soon. also you may remember that there
