Roma, Lazio and the European Super League

Wanted in Rome
05 May, 2021
On the 18th of April, European club football appeared as though it was about to undergo one of the biggest changes ever: the European Super LeagueWhile rumors had been swirling about a potential breakaway "superleague" as far back as 2018, no concrete developments had given any indication that it would become a reality. Then, when twelve of Europe's top clubs
announced that they had signed contracts to join the newly created European Super League, it appeared as though the club football landscape was about to change. Thus began one of the most chaotic forty-eight-hour periods that European club football has experienced in decades.

Ultimate betrayal: Premier League fans' groups unite to condemn Super League

20 Apr 2021 / 10:00 H.
LONDON: Fans of the Premier League clubs named as part of the breakaway Super League launched on Sunday have joined forces to condemn the move with Chelsea's Supporters' Trust describing it as the "ultimate betrayal".
The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust said it was "deeply concerned" at their club's involvement while Arsenal's Supporters' Trust described it on Twitter as "the death of the club as a sporting institution".
Manchester United's Supporters' Trust (MUST) also stood firm against the Super League which would have the club's co-chairman, American Joel Glazer, as it's vice-chairman.
"These proposals are completely unacceptable and will shock Manchester United fans, as well as those of many other clubs," it said in a statement.

Asharq Al-Awsat
Former players and fans groups across the globe have slammed plans for a breakaway competition by some of Europe's top clubs, calling the move a "soulless" money grab which will turn supporters away from the game.
Twelve of Europe's richest clubs launched the Super League on Sunday to rival the Champions League competition, triggering swift condemnation from authorities and political leaders.
"The plans ... sound soulless," Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy told the BBC.
"We've already seen strong opposition from leagues and federations who would be affected, and fans as well. Next, I think we will see a backlash from managers and players, too."

There are no synergies between Sky Sports & NBC, perhaps behind the scenes but not on the air when watching the Premier League. I don’t see any Sky Sports features on NBC. What exactly is Kartik talking about? Sky & NBC should not be put in the same sentence.
