conversations behind closed doors. pete: they definitely have. abby: we have been sailing this morning every single vote matters 52 republicans and lost john mccain. waiting on susan collins veering no on this and murkowski from alaska and rand paul if he were to move to yes that could change the dynamic of this bill. pete: absolutely. this is the moment. this is what president trump understands. if you don't do it now before september 30th, you are probably not going to gets another bite at this apple. who knows what happens in the mid terms. maybe you increase seats and better opportunity. maybe you don't. if you don't pass this bill, the likely future for america is single payer healthcare. this is what bernie sanders is pushing and elizabeth warren and other democrats are talking about. it's the logical end state of obamacare. analysts, conservative analysts that have looked at this bill have said by block granting to the states you effectively end the liberals and democrats' ability to pursue single pair because you have lost control of a federal and national system. for conservatives, and republicans, that's it. this is what you want is power to the states as you said, and more free market
