Ryan Alford's 68 Good For First Round Lead at APGA Tour Event at Valhalla Golf Club

Ryan Alford's 68 Good For First Round Lead at APGA Tour Event at Valhalla Golf Club

Ryan Alford, the APGA Tour newcomer from Shreveport, Louisiana, shot a four-under-par 68 to seize the first-round lead at APGA Tour Louisville in pursuit of his second consecutive victory on the circuit that has become a force in driving greater diversity in the sport of golf.
The former Louisiana Tech golfer, 24, won APGA Tour Scottsdale on April 20, playing only his fourth APGA Tour event.  He scored an eagle on the 18th hole to widen his lead over APGA Tour star Willie Mack and PGA Member Jabir Bilal of Atlanta, who played golf at Grambling State University. Mack, who has played two PGA Tour events this year as a sponsor exemption, and Bilal are both three strokes back at one-under. Alford is a high school teammate and regular practice partner of PGA TOUR standout Sam Burns.

Far Right's Covid Conspiracy Blames Fauci For Virus

Far Right’s Covid Conspiracy Blames Fauci For Virus
The far right has a favorite new conspiracy theory: Dr. Anthony Fauci, it seems, conspired with nefarious globalists to manufacture the COVID-19 virus in a Wuhan, China, laboratory and unleash it on the unsuspecting world in order to seize control of the global population. Or something along those lines.
But watching its progression into more mainstream settings—including a recent White House press conference—provides a vivid illustration not only of the ways that conspiracy-fueled extremists twist quasi-legitimate debate to their own ends, foisting their fantasies on a larger public in the process, but how they can almost instantaneously transform government-created information vacuums into fetid hothouses for their fearmongering and smears.

How a village near Grantham came together to cope during the Covid-19 pandemic

How a village near Grantham came together to cope during the Covid-19 pandemic
Published: 12:00, 06 February 2021
A village community has adapted during the pandemic to find a way to support each other through difficult and testing times.
The village of Sedgebrook has strengthened its community bonds, with the creation of a dedicated village website and newsletter, while continuing to organise Covid-friendly events to maintain a sense of normality.
Many of these developments began with Sam Wade, an events manager and Sedgebrook villager, whose work dried up at the beginning of the first lockdown.

Sam took flyers round the village with her phone number and the village email address, offering help to anyone who needed it. From there, a WhatsApp group of volunteers was formed – proving its worth almost immediately when one villager had a suspected heart attack.

can it be distributed safely, efficiently and quickly. that's the big hold up right now. the philippine government on the local government here, even the federal government is very disorganized. there aren't the capabilities. they don't have trucks. there's a shortage of fuel. so how quickly this aid can get out there right now, that's the biggest challenge. that certainly is a big challenge as we've been seeing. i'm joined by all our correspondents who have been here a lot longer than i have. paula hancocks and andrew stevens and nick wade as well. we talked about this at the top of the program. i just want to reiterate, there apparently is some belief among the philippine government or the interior minister, he was upset with me saying that i tweeted something that there's no government presence here. there certainly is a government presence. what i was saying -- and i didn't tweet anything at all -- was saying that i have not seen a big relief effort out in communities by philippine military personnel doing a grid search for bodies, even searching for any survivors. do you all agree with that pretty much? what are you seeing out there in terms of the aid effort?
