the 39 passengers and crew aboard an iranian airliner were not so lucky. all were killed when their plane struck power lines shortly after takeoff. the pilot of the iranian-built plane was praise ford managing not to hit any residential buildings as he crashed. it is the latest in a series of crashes for iran's airlines. to iraq where the government plunged into political crisis. the prime minister nuri al maliki resisting calls for resignation and accusing the president of violating the constitution. the infighting there could hinder efforts to stop advance of the sunni military group isis, the u.s. standing by the iraqi president. for the third straight day, u.s. warplanes have struck isis targets in northern iraq providing much needed protection and relief to thousands of refugees caught in the crossfire.
