spearheading the election subversion case against president trump in georgia. fani willis has been subpoenaed to appear a witness in the lead prosecutor's divorce proceedings. it raises questions ahead of the sprawling racketeering case. cnn's zach cohen joins us live now. zach, what are you learning? >> reporter: we've obtained a court document that does show fani willis has received a subpoena to appear as a witness in the divorce proceedings of one of her top prosecutors. this could be an optics problem because she's recalls been accused of having -- also been accused of having an improper relationship by one of the co-defendants in the election subversion case. the subpoena coming on the same day as these allegations were raised in a separate court filing in the trump case by one of trump's co-defendants, and they accuse fani willis and this prosecutor of not only having an improper romantic relationship but the da financially benefiting from that relationship going on vacations, based on the prosecutor's salary. now we should note that there is no direct evidence in this court filing of anything improper, of

goes down in the number of codefendants. and the likelihood that some people play out here. my question to you is the fact that jenna alice, one of trump's lawyers, is saying that mr. trump is not paying the legal bills for any of the codefendants in georgia. does that suggest to you that trump is staking out in adversarial position to his lawyers? does that tell you anything about his defense and the likelihood that those lawyers, looking at the lack of money flowing in the direction, may say screw this, i'm out of here. >> right, so it's interesting. i heard barbara mcquade reference a couple minutes ago the fact that more than 90% of federal defendants plead guilty. and that's in cases across the board, you know. whether it holds up here or not is an open question. but what we're seeing with jenna ellis and likely with some of the others is the first sign of a split among the defendants. when you've got 19 of them, it's pretty inevitable that that will happen. and when it will get even worse, will be when they see discovery. laura mentioned that that is
