as far as clearing skies, around portions of marco island, around areas up towards tampa. all of these areas, finally, seeing drier weather persist. just east of it, winds are gusting 115 miles per hour. the system sits a 30, 5 to 45 miles per hour south, as a skirt eastward. we do expect it to read merge over the atlantic ocean, in the coming hours. here, possibly, to re-strengthen it, before it makes a third, and final landfall, across the borders of south carolina, and georgia, on friday morning. notice, these absurd wind gusts, these incredible wind speeds, as high as 100 miles per hour in, a few observations. from some of these, this brought the wind measuring devices down. so, essentially, there are holes on the map as far as wind speeds, and a lot of areas. if these observations sites were completely knocked off line, from the ferocity of the storm system. there it goes again, look at the radar imagery, still bringing in strong thunderstorms, in, and round, areas of orlando. they get some of the earlier

the storm's path. what are we looking? at >> the radar imagery, john, the sister really an incredible depiction of the storm system with a massive i, about 100 miles south southwest of naples, florida you notice as these outer bands, the feeder bands are ushering in some moisture from portions of florida, as far east as miami, coral springs, tornado warnings popping up meaning tornadoes imminent or occurring as a result of this. as we often see this with landfall tropical systems, as these outer bands kind of interact and get friction within lands, it creates these tornadoes that pop up and that is going to be one of these concerns. you get these nocturnal 20th into the overnight hours, they can catch people off-guard. of course, just part of what hurricane ian has to offer, sitting at 120 miles per hour sustained winds, just ten hours shy -- category four hurricane, and the concern moving forward is that the system has everything it takes. to florida into a category four within the next 12 hours. right before it makes landfall. we think early wednesday afternoon, maybe as early one 2 pm, or five or 6 pm.

of course the concern has been so much on texas and that heavy rainfall we saw, the energy as you noted is shifting eastward and south of this region, but the pattern that set the stage for this heavy rainfall, it is still in place. so we do expect another round of heavy rains. maybe not as much as we saw monday, but 2 to 4 inches has come down across louisiana, arkansas and the state of mississippi. and you look being at this hyper focused area and a couple pockets do pop out indicated in the reds and oranges, 5 to 6 inches in isolated areas. so plenty of rains have fallen east of the area that was hardest hit in dallas metro. and you look at the radar imagery, notice the density of storms popping up just to the north and east of jackson, mississippi, precisely where we have flood warnings in place that have been in place the last hour or so as a result of these heavy rains. notice well to the west and back towards areas of far eastern texas, still seeing flood alerts
