<li>The Power Spot markets, operated by EPEX Spot, increased by 3% in May 2021 to a total volume of 52.7 TWh (May 2020: 51.2 TWh). The Intraday markets mainly contributed to these results, registering a 27% growth to 10.6 TWh (May 2020: 8.4 TWh) and posting new records on the Austrian (416.8 GWh) and Dutch (471.6 GWh) markets.</li>

Power The Power Intraday Markets, operated by EPEX Spot, increased by 28% in April 2021, reaching a volume of 10.7 TWh (April 2020: 8.4 TWh). The German and Danish Intraday markets reached new monthly records with 6.1 and 0.2 TWh traded (previous records: 5.9 TWh in October 2020 and 0.2 TWh in January 2021), while on the Day-Ahead segments, the Swedish (1.7 TWh) and Polish (0.2 TWh) market areas reached record volumes as well. Volumes across the European Power Derivatives Markets declined in comparison to a very strong April 2020 volume. Against the overall trend, EEX recorded volume increases in its UK (+86%), Nordic (+147%) and Austrian Power Futures (+114%).
Nodal Exchange Achieves Records In Power And Environmental Futures In April Date 05/05/2021 Nodal Exchange announced today that it achieved several records in monthly power and environmental futures in the United States in April 2021. Nodal Exchange achieved record power futures open interest with 1,076 million MWh per side (equivalent to the electricity consumption of 101 million homes for a year in the USA) at the end of April representing 51.5% market share which is also a new record. Nodal also achieved record open interest in environmental futures open interest with 135,946 lots representing 12.4% market share as of end of April. In April 2021, Nodal achieved record calendar month power futures trading with 215.1 million MWh of traded volume for a 46.5% market share. This represents Nodal Exchange’s third highest volume month ever and a growth rate of 20% over April 2020. Trading on Nodal was especially strong this month in the PJM region with a record 57.5% market share.
