>> greg: hi, i'm greg gutfeld along with jesse watters, jeanine pirro. dana perino, "the five." ♪ ♪ chicago mayor brandon johnson spewing some breathtaking b.s. over who is to blame for the failed state of the city, going on an excuse-palooza. lori lightfoot, i miss her. herbert hoover was running the country. the 31st president, dana. the one oh. >> greg: but before we dive into what brandon said, that future sites of the dnc. shocking video shows a woman getting robbed on a busy chicago street before the purpose victimized three other people. chicago is so overrun with migrants, they are stuffing illegal immigrants into churches. residents who live near the new camp are protesting. >> when you think about all the things that we allow to slide, this is another thing that we just cannot allow this to happen. >> no transfer and the mayor. it is very inhumane to do this. >> he is acting like a dictator. he needs to go. he must go. >> greg: typical right-wingers. let's go back to brandon. chicago's mayor wants to blame everyone but himself. >> what we have seen is this instituted by right wing extremism. everyone knows that the right wing in this country has targeted democratically run cities, and quite frankly, they've been very intentional about going after democratically run cities that are led by people of color. the same republic and white wing extremism that stormed the capital, that refuses to accept the results of the civil war. they're still mad that a black man is free in this country. this is nothing new, but aren't you glad that chicago will not be broken? you do not break our soul. >> greg: jesse. he is taking a page out of jussie smollett the book. there is this huge hidden, extreme mega criminal gang going around carjacking. i don't see any red hats of the crime scenes. >> jesse: you can't blame biden for opening, because then they will read your house. i don't understand why he is saying that whites or conservatives are mad at him. blacks are mad at the black mayor because he's turned the southside of chicago into latin america. no one can even move in the neck of the woods because they are flooded with migrants. the black community in chicago is feeling that they are being replaced. and they have said this. they have said that they are americans, and you're importing a population there, and cramming them out of schools, soccer fields, basketball courts, jobs, and if you look at the explosion of the hispanic population in this country, it's just astronomical. they've doubled. used to be 5% of the population. now 20% of the population. the black population in 2060, supposed to be flat. they are having a lot of children. coming to this country. they are going to replace the political power of the black community within the democratic party. the black community in the democratic party has been so loyal to the democratic party that they cannot understand why they would do that. and that's what people are saying in chicago. now this may or is not trying to fix anything. he is just pointing fingers. he is not progressing. these people are saying you are establishing so much progress. there's been no progress in chicago. he's going to fail just like all these other progressive mayors. that is what they do. >> greg: you look at a lot of the problems that chicago is facing. crimes, gangs, these are not caused by republican policies. it's kind of like the political anger is being directed at the people pointing out the problems and not the problems themselves fear like getting mad at your doctor for diagnosing your illness because he's a republican. >> dana: also that was not exactly the right wing crowd. there has not been a republican mayor in chicago since 1927. so i'm not sure how many people are going to buy this. the last six months, 15,192 cars have been stolen. we could go through all the different burglaries, carjackings, robberies, but just imagine if your city is so bad, that my current arrives, takes a look around and says i think i will try my luck in venezuela. i may have a better shot. i felt like when he was doing his press conference talking about extremist republicans, he was like -- he knew it was not going to land. i don't know who he was trying to convince. but it sounded so for stan so juvenile and really sounded like someone completely out of his depth, and i feel bad for chicago. the white house will not help them. >> greg: i felt sorry for him, and i never do. >> dana: you had empathy? >> greg: i thought maybe i had the flu, but it was empathy. the great thing about republicans is you can make fun of them all you want, but we still will help you. he could yell at us, but why doesn't he just say okay, help us. what should we do? republicans will help. we are used to getting yelled at. >> jeanine: he knows that there were 30 people who were shot this past weekend after thanksgiving. he is the person who was appointed superintendent of police. he can say sit down, let's talk about policy here. i don't really like your policy where the police are not going to be punished for not chasing a criminal. that is the policy in chicago. people losing their wallets and what we saw in the first video, started the segment as people are being robbed openly, the police are not even chasing them. they are literally calling in a rob on michigan and center streets. that is his fault. it is his fault it is a sanctuary city. his fault police are not making arrests. why not talk to you or d.a. who messed up the jussie smollett case. stop letting them out of jail. we've got real problems. for him to turn around and say that there are white people in this country who are upset that blacks are free, that was outrageous to me. first of all, it took white people to elect a black president. it took white people to make sure we have laws on the books that do not allow for discrimination. the crap. they claim this victimhood, and then this outrage. in the end, even the illegals are saying it is so bad here, i would rather go back home. >> greg: there are two issues here in that he is decided to go towards one. real issues, real problems, then he goes but we are being targeted. i assume he means like the media who are constantly pointing out the degradation of liberal cities. so what? that's not your job. your job is not to address how the media portrays a city. your job is to focus on the problems that are being exposed. am i right? not or blank yes. jessica: if i'm still alive. i'm trapped in here. i don't know who jesse is talking to in chicago, but i don't think that black people are sitting around talking about the great replacement theory and how they cannot get on a basketball court. >> greg: they have students leave fields because there was not enough room. >> jessica: that's not -- >> greg: do you watch a jesse watters prime time? >> jessica: i have it on in the background. mostly when your mom calls in. no great replacement theory appeared to your point, i think you are correct that there is a decision that he made that he wanted to go towards a more nationalized narrative about what is wrong with the republican party rather than being a local city mayor, and i think it can be difficult when you run one of these huge cities because you don't feel necessarily that you are just a local guy, but that's what it is. that's what you're in charge of. the people who put you in office chose him over another, still a democrat, tried and true, but had a much tougher stance about things like immigration and supporting the police. when i was watching the footage of the city council meeting where they would not allow them to take the vote on maintaining sanctuary city status, are people having buyers remorse on this? they should at least have the option to have a democrat who is going to listen to their concerns. he did inherit a whole list of problems from lori lightfoot and from the mayor before her and the mayor before him. but homicides in chicago are down 10% from this time last year. they are down in new york. they are down in philadelphia. d.c. is an outlier in terms of that. we talked about d.c. a lot. but i don't think that when people feel so overwhelmed by what's going on and the migrant crisis that they are necessarily sitting at home and talking about the broad strokes of that. they are talking about that a little girl down the street was shot in a driveway shooting. >> greg: murder is obviously the worst crime, but people are leaving the city is because of everything. crime in general. carjackings. >> jessica: one of the things that we talked about was -- >> greg: jesse. >> jessica: forced himself out. anyway. of course they do, but people who live in apartments think where my going to charge it? they get frustrated -- when you go to tow something, put a trailer on the back, they don't work as well. people are saying they are still too expensive, and they don't want it anymore. this is a house of cards, and when it starts falling down in states like connecticut, watch out. the bottom can fall out very quickly. >> jeanine: what do you think of the president's green agenda? >> jessica: i think that was going on with electric vehicles as part of the green agenda, but not the entirety of it. i am going to address your question directly and add something. i think that ned lamont, who, by the way, one of the more popular governors in the country, is very smart to do this. and you saw this with the democratic governor of colorado where president biden was just being responsive to your constituents. you just have to listen to your people. you can change rules for that. you can say this is something we want, we aspire to. he said i want to get us there. the goals are too aggressive. we cannot move that quickly. hopefully this will engender more goodwill toward evs. continue with your gas cars, et cetera. also this problem for the fords, gms, they are buying tesla's if they are buying electric. they have not been able to hit people en masse to buy these other versions, and tesla just has a different kind of sheen to it. it is also driven by wealthier people. we are asking middle-class people to do it. it is not resonating in the same way. aydin's green agenda has had a lot of really big successes, so he was at the world's largest wind tower manufacturer. $200 million expansion, a direct result of the inflation reduction act. new jobs that have come to this tiny town. 99% of the clean energy investments in colorado are in counties with below average weekly wage is few counties with than average child poverty. this is helping people on the ground for real. there's been $7 billion overall in manufacturing clean energy. semiconductors, batteries, et cetera, helping average americans, and that is part of this as well and why he should be out there talking about it. >> jeanine: jesse, the biden administration just unveiled a massive set of highway emissions regulations as americans are getting ready to spend money for the holiday, and the finalize rule requires state and local transportation agencies to establish greenhouse gas reduction targets that they may not be able to make because people are not buying these vehicles. >> jesse: they're not hitting any of their targets. projects off of the east coast have been canceled or are about to be canceled. i was trying to find where the market is to buy a green new car, and if you live in the city, where are you charging it if you park on the street? if you happen to be able to afford a garage, it is like 500 to $800 a month more. they don't have chargers and garages. if you're going to buy another car that's electric, two cars in a garage in manhattan. that doesn't even happen. then you are in the countryside. are you actually going to buy an electric car when you have to drive miles and miles? you want to be able to charge it. then if you do happen to you, it takes 20 to 40 minutes to charge. who has that kind of time to sit around at a charging station? i've got errands to do, and i've got to be back before dark. and for safety reasons. so now you are only targeting the suburbs. you have some older people who live in the suburbs. older people are not buying electric cars. it is just too different. they are not going to -- they can barely do email. then you have suburban housewives, all right? suburban house husbands. usually the women don't control which car to buy. >> dana: really? >> jeanine: that is wrong. wrong, wrong, wrong. >> jesse: women choose the cars. you're right. yeah, sure. maybe. let's just say the women that i know, at least, are not tech people. they are not like oh, let's get an electric vehicle. no, that's not what they're about. so the men in the suburbs, a lot of them drive pickup trucks. if they don't, they are a conservative, not buying an electric car. this is a liberal suburban house husbands. the only people in the market for an electric car. that is not a big market. >> jeanine: thank you, jessie. as an older suburbanite, do you have an electric car? >> greg: not yet. but i have bought stock in extension cords. i have a theory that they are trying to replace our fossil fuel cars with evs. now, i think the government is getting by the invisible hand of the free market. this is what happens when you embrace a goal that is not based on a system that i desire or a wish. if you want, like me, washboard abs and 7% body fat, you have to create a system here you cannot just wish her washboard abs, so they treat this massive overhaul in your life like it's an electric car. just press forward, and it will happen. now, you need a system to do that. this is another area where something like evs were based on my mental models that turned out to be false. they've been off by 20%. they lied to us. in order to ban appliances, to eliminate fossil fuels, to ban gas powered engines, and to shame us into the eating insects. imagine if they did it the right way. because i think jessica is right here you can introduce evs that are cool as an alternative and get it time to become convenient. this is what elon musk did with the tesla. but it's expensive. but wealthy people will buy the expensive thing. buying these flat screens, getting computers first. they were costing thousands of dollars, but over time, they became more efficient, faster, better, cheaper. americans understand that. electric cars should become an alternative to what we have, and who knows, over time, they will get better, but they drew of this argument into a bad place. fearmongering. we have a pretty good b.s. detector. i don't need to do this because the earth is collapsing. it's not happening. and we are seeing these climate models -- the world was supposed to end and a couple of years. it was supposed already be over, and it has not happened. just tell us that this is going to be a great way to get around, and maybe we will listen. that is what elon musk did with the tesla cars. >> jeanine: accusing a kid of wearing black face, and now his family is heading back. ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ is all about presents and shopping and cookies and trees. but we know christmas isn't about something you buy at a store. it's about something so much greater. it is the day we celebrate the incredible truth that god so loved the world that he gave his only son. it's not about presents. it's about jesus. join me this advent in praying every day on hallow. cut through the noise and find god's peace.
