there has been no sign of yevgeny prigozhin. his news service tells cnn he will answer questions when he has proper communication. one thing, though, is clear. this insurrection marks the most profound threat we've seen to putin's 23-year-long rule, and the u.s. secretary of state says the turmoil may not be over yet. >> it's too soon to tell exactly where this is going to go. and i suspect that this is a moving picture, and we haven't seen the last act yet. but we can say this. first of all, what we've seen is extraordinary, and i think you see cracks emerge that weren't there before. >> the military revolt lasted less than 24 hours, was it was long enough to bring into question vladimir putin's aura of invincibility and stability, damage his self-proclaimed reputation as a leader who never forgets a slight, never tolerates disloyalty.
back to our top story this hour. the mayor of moscow announced on monday that all security restrictions in the russian capital have been lifted. this comes after an insurrection, presenting the biggest challenge to russian president vladimir putin's grip on the country. meanwhile, the whereabouts of wagner chief yevgeny prigozhin, who led that revolt is unknown at this hour, but he expects to go to olivers under the terms of a deal that ended the insurrection. the military revolt lasted less than 24 hours, but long enough to bring into question vladimir putin's aura of invincibility, and stability. cnn's senior national correspondent ivan watts reports on how these events played out from beginning to end. >> reporter: a weekend of chaos and drama in russia. mercenaries declared a mutiny

l.a. look at some of the experiences you saw fans going in and dealing with last night. you know, last year, this event happened virtually, and that shows you what makes this one a little bit different this time around, that fans were able to gather, able to go out and have a good time, and i spoke to shaquille o'neal about that. listen to what he told me. >> everyone has to be vaccinated, of course. i want everybody to be safe. it's going to be a hectic weekend. i've always been a people person. like, when i'm out, it's hard for me to tell a kid no, mask or not. that's just me. i'm a military brat. i've always felt the aura of invincibility, but you know, i know that there's some people out there getting sick. i just want to wish them well. i just want everybody to be safe. >> reporter: the nfl has been leaning into this, trying to make it so fans have as much fun as possible but can do it as safely as possible. we know outside of some of the
released publicly and they were able to -- there's been a lot of internal fighting among these pollsters for a while, since the last campaign, as you would well know with tony fabrizio. >> he went back to his core pollsters. johnny mclaughlin and tony fabrizio. those are the two he knows. he didn't know the other three as well, my guess. >> but he didn't like the aura of invincibility. sometimes we see that americans still think that donald trump is going to get re-elected. so he has to say and put out this bravado that i'm the front-runner here. i'm running for re-election. i'm a great president. the real problem, i think, right now is we've never seen something where everybody wants to point to the mcgovern, reagan poll at this point. they can point to the bush poll, they can point to bob dole at this point. but each of those candidates had economic headwinds. he has an economic tailwind. >> and he's still sit wting whe he's sitting. >> it's a problem. >> we'll pause it here. thank you very much, it's good to have you being the decipherer

had about frump is how long is he going to stay in the race and is he only going to stay in it as long as he feels really good? if he loses a caucus or primary is that going to be the moment where he says "i've had enough of this"? it's unusual at a time when he's still leading national polls, still leading in new hampshire, still leading in south carolina he would be so unnerved by simply falling behind in a poll in iowa. so it has to raise questions about how long he wants to do this. >> jennifer, it's not surprising that he's losing in iowa. trump shouldn't win it, but trump could still be the nominee. mike huckabee and rick santorum won it and they weren't nominees. what is he complaining about? >> his entire shtick is built around his invincibility, everybody in government is stupid, he's the only smart person. so as soon as he's not winning everywhere, then his aura of invincibility, the thing that drives him to be a winner, to be the alpha dog is destroyed, so
