Stigma reason behind shortage of 'skilled' trade workers in India: Survey

A survey conducted by 3M, the global firm found that 80% of Indian respondents believe that a shortage of skilled trade workers in the country could have negative economic impacts and lead to declined quality of life and neglected public infrastructure. Additionally, 85% of respondents said that the shortage was due to parents discouraging children from pursuing opportunities in the field.
