purple. we have, as you would expect, a state that has a strong kind of rural and urban sections of our state, but what we have in oregon is much more purple than you might be led on through the years in democrat control of the governor's office. oregonians are ready for a change. 40 years of democrat in the governor's office has failed our state. it's led to, as you just mentioned, an explosion of crime. in portland in particular, 207% increase in a 2-year period in homicides. poem in that community want mory want more police on the streets, they want to be safe. they want their kids to be safe when they walk to school, they don't want to have to worrily about homeless camps. -- worry about homeless camps. they are demanding better, and i am here to turn our state around and stand with oregonians across the political spectrum to lead our state in a new direction. maria: so what do you hear from
