immunocompromised, that there is some concern from data out of israel and other parts of the world that perhaps you might have decreased protection against ending up in the hospital. and so, that's why for certain -- certainly, certain segments of society. that third shot, if you got two shots of pfizer or moderna seems necessary to keep you as protected as possible from ending up in the hospital if you were exposed to the delta variant. the big question here and the reason why the w.h.o. and many of us in public health are scratching our heads is for someone like myself, for example, joshua. icu doc. nine months ago, i got fully vaccinated. why do i need a booster shot in there is no evidence that folks like myself, less than 65, otherwise healthy, need a booster shot and that's a big part of the country. and so, one, do -- should we be giving booster shots for everybody? lot of us feel, no, the data just isn't there. number two, it actually makes our efforts to convince those who have yet to be vaccinated to get three shots now because now they are thinking that two shots don't work. that is exactly direct quotation from what i have heard from many

what do we expect a taliban government to look like? we expect it to be an emirates but do expect government leaders or government ministers, rather, in the same way we can see other countries? the cabinet may be the same, however, the power, the seat of the power, may be different. there are speculations and discussions amongst taliban leaders that they will not come with a emirates but with a sura like they do in iran, someone dealing with the administration of the government. let us remind viewers that the international community have not been agreeing with this establishment of the taliban in afghanistan. they know what elections mean and how the country works under democratic society and i think the taliban do understand the public sentiment is against an emirate. they can push for an emirate but there will be some resistance from circles, including from people they want to bring into their

to think too much about or be a part of, and as i mentioned before, the biggest challenge is how the public accepts how we manage to lobby our governments and we think about the priorities that we want to make in our society. and that's it from the engineers: clean energy here at the victoria and albert museum in london. on behalf of the bbc world service, our partners, the royal commission for the exhibition of 1851 and all of us here, a huge thank you to our brilliant engineers, kristian eikeland holmefjord, danielle merfeld and henry snaith. applause hello, everyone, i hope you're doing all right.

the after began female situation. she is in charge of root causes, congressman. i guess the root cause for this situation is sitting in the oval office. it is interesting how she is getting out of town. she is going to vietnam. >> she is getting out of town at just the right time. you hit on an important point. the tragedy to women, to half of the population of afghanistan, they are not on the evacuation list in any priority. they will be there. those children are going to be force married off. those young girls will no longer get an education and society will turn to the 600 a.d. where it was when we came in. jesse: i am hearing she is going to leak that she advised that they had to pivot and no one

democracy is messy. the fact that afghanistan was sort of moving towards this more liberalized society also brought with it chaos is another kind of strand of argument the russians will make. just real quickly. we are hearing from our allies in europe for first and foremost. they are mad at the timetable. they are mad at the way we did it and we didn't consult. there's real nervousness with regard to u.s. commitments especially in areas under pressure right now like taiwan and japan under pressure from china. >> i wanted to ask you about china and the headline in bloomberg. china embraces high stakes taliban relationship as u.s. exits. are the chinese pushing for this high stakes relationship because they are worried about refugees coming from afghanistan oaf their border and what that -- the impact that could have on some issues that they are having

and i think in the context of the pandemic, i think we all have seen how it's really shined a bright light on our decisions about parenting and our decisions about our families in general, and nobody should be forced to carry a pregnancy against their will. and people should be able to have access to the doctor's highest level of training. our physicians are being put in a position with this ban to provide abortions differently in texas than they do in the other states they practice in. and texans deserve better. >> something that often goes unsaid is abortion bans are not necessarily impacting all women in society, that it is specifically targeting poor, often women of color, who cannot access care, but wealthier women will have access. can you speak a little bit to that? and what so many on the right use shaming when it comes to abortion to ensure that these women do not access healthcare

dictatorship over what had been a liberalizing society. in the grander calculations that people make about whose winning and whose losing in the world, it looks to people like this is a triumph for a closed society over an open one. an autocracy over a country moving towards democracy. in that sense it's a loss for the united states and it's a loss for america's allies. the chaotic nature of the withdrawal has emphasized that. it looks not only as if america has lost this argument but also that it did so in a kind of unexpected and disorganized way. the impact for that, a lot depends on what halves next. i don't want to be too definitive. this still an ongoing war and lots of things can happen in the coming weeks, including it looks
