in a democracy and as it happens, we know the answer because cbs itself ran poll on that topic just a week ago and they asked this question should the united states send troops to ukraine? answer fullye? 75% of americans said no. the united states should not send troops to ukraine. and yet somehow the cbs newsreader forgot to mention t any of this to chris coons. well, you know why? because in washington what you think is irrelevant. our foreign policy matters of life and death decisionsre that destroy nations are made entirely by people with no skin in the game, people who face no conceivable risk of injury, people like john bolton and max boot toria nuland, your opinion doesn't factor intoth the equation at any point. so if you bothered to askwh american citizens what they think and if you care about democracy, you would they'd likely tell you that their borders are more important to them than ukraine's borders tse are. that makes sense because they're americans, not ukrainians. and if you ask and deeper, you would find out that the very top of their concerns is not ukraine.
and you will see the same response this time. after the disastrous invasion of ukraine. the american officials who so publicly trashed this country's credibility will be promoted for it. they always are. taurean newland is one of the geniuses behind the iraq war that was almost 20 years ago, did that hurt her career? it should have ended her career. in place, right then, go do something useful. learn how to lay tile. but it didn't end her career, in fact her career accelerated. this same person, taurean newland, went on to help lead the ukraine debacle we are watching now. she is completely unqualified for the job she has, we knew that 20 years ago. and yet she is highly successful in washington. someday she will probably be the secretary of state, remember her name, taurean newland. she will be rewarded for her failing. meanwhile, people who criticize toria nuland or who care about this country enough to critique joe biden's foreign policy disasters find themselves denounced in the media as come of all things, traders to

this. then they attacked anyone who asked questions about it as russia. we foolishly assumed in this one instance, they might be telling the truth, and then out of nowhere, the bite and official in charge of ukraine confirmed the story. toria nuland, the undersecretary of state, casually mentioned in the senate hearing on tuesday that actually, yes, the biden administration does fund a series of bio labs in ukraine, and whatever is in these labs is so dangerous that she is deeply concerned, these materials will fall into the hands of the russian military. now that struck us as a shocking development. once again, not for the first time, what had seemed like a nutty conspiracy theory turned out to be true. toria nuland's testimony raised at least vertical media questions: what exactly are these labs doing with our money and in our name? and why didn't the biden administration secure the contents of these labs before the russians invaded? so far, we haven't received any answer at all to the second
freezers. how does that work exactly? how heavy are these bio weapons? do we lack the transportation capacity to get them out of ukraine and bury them in a desert in nevada? when was the pentagon planning to finish this important job? in 20 years? in 50 years? there's also a very obvious question, but not a single reporter asked any of those questions. meanwhile, over at cnn, perhaps where the first expedition did not make sense once you thought about it, offered a new alibi. according to cnn's website, the labs in ukraine existed "secure old soviet weapons," okay, secure, not eliminate. which raises the question, what does it mean to secure a bio weapon? and again, why has it taken 17 years to do it? and by the way, if these are really just old soviet weapons, why is toria nuland so worried they will wind up in the hands of old soviets? who presumably already have these very same weapons. probably don't need more.
