russia. i want to show our audience a few maps of present-day ukraine. this was a year ago. everything you see in red is no being contested. that was a year ago. on the screen right, you got where you are today which there is very little movement as you can see from the map. now i want to show something from the institute for the stud of war on a group you work with. so our audience knows does come everything and blue is ukraine. everything and pink is right no being contested. what you see in green is russia. what is significant about this map with regard to american weaponry and how it might be used inside russia? to keep great, bill, the biden administration is advertising that they have removed most of the restrictions of the use of american long-range weapons inside of russia. what the institute of study of war has done is take a look at what they've actually done and confirmed this with the ukrainians, so the green on the map represents the range of the high mars guarded multiple launch systems for they go out 75 kilometers. they can now use those weapons systems in that green area, but only in the vicinity of the right bottom portion of the green area. in the gray area come over you see all the red dots and the white circles, that is the rang of the attack comes, the shorte range 170 is the first line out in the maximum line out is 300 kilometers. look what is inside of that. they are still restricted. the ukrainians from using those weapon systems. the white circles with the simple symbol inside is an airbase. you see all those white circles none inside the green. although it read take marks indicate ground and logistic basis or a concentration of russian forces. all in that gray area are still restricted. what this represents as the biden administration saying the removed an overwhelming amount of restrictions. the fact is the only restrictions they have removed are represented by about 16 percent. 84 percent are still denied the ukrainians. they are very frustrated by this . they're not screaming publicly about her because they don't want to bite the hand that's feeding them, but these are the facts on the ground. what does it mean? the ukrainians still can't use our weapons to fire at airbases prayer they can can't use our weapons to fire at the majority of the russian basis, and logistical nodes inside of russia. in russia doesn't have to put any forces there to protect those bases because it's a sense , a sanctuary where a no fire zone for the ukrainians us of american weapons. they can use their drones and they are, but they have limited capability. these long-range missiles are devastating. >> bill: if we the use our weaponry, we will wait to see what putin does after that. >> dana: my question is we are going to do the sanctions against russia, have they been working at all pray for they will sign this u.s. security agreement at the g-7 summit, will either of those things mak a difference? to keep the sanctions could mak a difference for it they take a while, but the facts are that russia's economy is doing fine. they have gone through one fighting economy in they are whole industrial bases focused on that. their energy sector is surging. it has gone up 73 percent from last year alone. they are making money. they are not in the tank is the sanctions were supposed to be. i think it's because we are not tough enough on the secondary sanctions for, countries that still doing business with russia , namely china is a major major supporter of russia. hopefully the sanctions they ar imposing now will have the diligence to enforce them and make certain that they are imposed. we will wait and see what the sanctions have not had an impac read he has, is the security arrangements ten years, is that a good thing? it is largely symbolic. obviously the reality is we wan to increase the training of ukrainians outside of ukraine. we want to increase and maintai our intelligence. we certainly want to continue providing those resources. all of that certainly as we go forward is at somewhat of a risk . >> bill: they will talk about this with a joint press conference from italy. in the meantime you have an evi it's lower than expected, but the effect on the economy is still strong. >> it's going in the right direction. inflation has come well off the highs over the last couple of years but we're still talking about inflation in prices overall being up about 20 percent since joe biden walked into the oval office and largely because a lot of the spending and other areas as well . you mention housing. part of the problem is interest rates where they are higher, mortgage rates have basically made it unaffordable for so man people to take out a mortgage and buy a home. when a researcher that i was reading this morning was from strategic, research firm and they write that when inflation goes up, a lot, like a 7 percen number, we know it when all the way up to 9.1 percent at the peak, typically what happens as it comes down but then it goes back upright think the federal reserve is balancing here. they knows there's a chance we could see another spike and inflation so they're not about to think president biden is down i the polls because people are voting and expected to vote on kitchen table issues like the price that they pay for goods. j powell is saying the numbers in jobs or overstated was reall important but implied you pointed this out because every month we get these jobs numbers and the headline it looks reall good, you peel back the onion you say wait a second there was a lot of part-time jobs and the say wait a second, noncitizens got the jobs or perhaps real wages are actually down under president biden, so there are a lot of areas to poke holes. you have to believe the inflation story is a lot better than where we were here and a half ago. we are way down from the high. to add on to some your items that you just said, admission t sporting events is up 21.7 percent. video discs in other media are up 21 port 7 percent. frozen noncarbonated juices in rings are up 19 and a half percent spirit care of invalids in elderly at home, that is als higher, up
