[laughter] >> he wants a new driver. [applause] >> john: if you tell the way she won't come true. i'm john roberts in washington. 45 for the rest of his life. >> sandra: good to be with you, interesting the cake looked delicious by the way. >> john: although he would like to be 47. i guess we can say that. >> sandra: good to be with you and you as well, don i'm sandra smith so the liberal media lost it over trump's return to capitol hill the first time back since january 6th. >> you can go to a taylor swift concert this summer and see less giddiness about her from teenage girls then we saw from a public it's on capitol hill about donald trump. >> the idea they welcome him back is so deeply disturbing. >> donald trump returning not precisely to the scene of the crime but certainly the neighborhood of the crime. >> donald trump does not like america and these voters want to bring things down and trump as their chaos agent to do it. >> john: that may be an indication that democrats are worried about what might happen on november 5th. and will who better to react then charlie hurt will join us in moments. >> sandra: can't imagine what charlie has to say but let's begin with dana marie mcnichol in west palm beach, florida, for us, great to see you there at the former president is we are told planning a big birthday bash tonight. >> that's right, good afternoon, sandor. while trump got a break in the extreme rain we have been having in south florida over the last couple of days, he is expected to speak at 7:00 p.m. tonight to a crowd of 5,000 people pay or you know the horrible president is turning 78 today, he shares his birthday with flag day. the event is being hosed by club 47, this is a group who calls themselves the largest club of trump supporter's in america. this after trump's capitol hill visit yesterday with house and senate republicans that brought a rare moment of g.o.p. unity. he stressor of applicant should not attack one another promising to "work out" any lingering differences within the party as we saw their those senators even giving him an american flag cake with 45 candles and 47 referencing his next presidency. over on social media, trump was interviewed by influencer and professional wrestler logan paul on his podcast with almost 1.6 million views in less than 24 hours the former president is reaching a younger audience by covering topics from ufos to the rapid beat between break and kendrick lamar. it what has been a busy couple of days as this week and he heads to battleground michigan tomorrow to court black voters listening to residents at a roundtable discussion. he also speak at a turning point usa event in detroit, a solidly democratic city where president biden won by 94% in 2020. and back out here doors open to the public at 3:00 p.m. so a long line already forming come again 7:00 p.m. is when he will speak to the crowd, it's a sold-out event so a lot of energy we are already seeing here, sandra. >> sandra: thank you so much dana marie. >> john: let's bring in charlie hurt a "washington times" opinion at her and a fox news contributor. first of all let's go to the president's visit on capitol hill. he and macconnell were face to face for the first time since december of 2020. here's how it was described in axios' trump and mcconnell finally meet again with a fist bump. it was warm and cordial one source in the room told axios', "trump commended mcconnell on efforts to grow the senate majority over the years" mcconnell had been kylie demeka tyler critical after january 6 and went so far to say that trump was practically and morally responsible for provoking the event, so does that still, charlie come hang over the relationship? or is over but he move on? >> i think two things they have kind of allowed people like mcconnell and trump to gloss over these things. the most important thing is the agreement on issues. and both donald trump and mitch mcconnell are focused on the most important issues that matter to conservatives and matter to republicans and that allows him to sort of put aside a lot of those differences. the second thing, of course, is the notion they are sort of going in the direction of winning. winning solves a lot of problems a little bit like money. and republicans on capitol hill yesterday, they feel buoyed by pulling, they feel buoyed by the fact they are talking about the issues most voters care the most about, and that tends to put things to the side. and i know a lot of conservatives, a lot of trump supporter's, have been critical and donald trump has been critical of mitch mcconnell, but you have to give credit to mitch mcconnell in terms of realizing what it is he wants to get, he's a very sharp, wise, seasoned "politico" in that regard. so i think he recognizes as donald trump does it's a great team, they can work together and get a lot done. >> john: judging by the democrat reaction they may be worried about party unity on display yesterday listen to their reaction. >> trump is continuing his continuing his shakedown of the republican party. i'm sure he is trying to figure out his game plan. >> this is the first time he's appear since he incited a violent insurrection against the capital, against the vice president come against congress, against the constitution. and he returned as a convicted felon. >> john: it seems the democrats can say what they want but it doesn't change the fact that trump is going to be a force to be reckoned with your. >> yes, they are terrified, john. you know there's an old -- in hunting if you go bear hunting, you better kill the bear because if you just shoot the bear and make it madder, it can still come after you, you are in deep trouble and what they have done, what democrats have done and operatives at the highest levels of our government have done is they have thrown every weapon they can get their hands on at the guy. they have scarred him he is a convicted felon, all of these things but he is still standing. and he came charging back into the city yesterday a triumphant victor and potentially on the cusp of recapturing the white house, and it's going to be a different beast they are dealing with. and i think that they are terrified and they probably should be terrified in terms of the agenda of the democrats care about because the only agenda that is going to be talked about i think over the next four years of donald trump wins is the trump agenda. >> john: speaking of poking the bear there was this moment yesterday in the biden-zelinski press conference listen here. >> what is your message to allies including those here at the g-7 about what more if anything the u.s. can do to try to drive towards a peace agreement? thank you. >> i wish you guys would play by the rules a little bit. i am here to talk about a critical situation in the ukraine. you ask about another subject. >> john: i mean he is here to talk about ukraine but hamas and israel are bona fide to talk about, the white house correspondents fired back against biden saying you are not playing by the rules. kelly o'donnell went all irish on biden saying the white house correspondents association believes it is in the public interest to make clear that at a presidential press conference at home or abroad there are no preconditions regarding question topics and a leader may prefer the reporters ask only one question or ask only about a topic of most interest to the president or in another world leader but a free press functions independently come you can hear pounding the table when she rode that. >> john as you know better than anybody the fun thing about living in a free country with free press is the president doesn't get to pick the questions or isn't supposed to pick the questions, the press gets to pick the questions that are most important and most urgent. sometimes i can be critical about some of the questions they choose to ask, but what we are seeing right here from president biden is kind of the whining of entitlement, i think, because i would argue over the past four years especially during the last election he got such coddling, such entitled treatment from the press who were far more focused on attacking donald trump that, you know, merely getting a question he did not want to have to answer is enough for him to try to lecture the press. i don't see how things are going to improve in that department for him between now and november. >> john: it was so weird he did not lash out for are asking about hunter biden he lashed out at the bloomberg reporter for asking about israel and come off very strange. have a great weekend. >> it really is. >> john: sander? >> sandra: thank you very much and have a friday to shirley meanwhile we are watching this, a heavily armed man has been nabbed by the nypd. police found this arsenal of weapons in a car blocks from one of new york city's airports and the man driving the car screamed right also add a transit worker vast officials they could've gotten him into a lot of places. retired nypd inspector paul morrow away on that next. plus this is a brand-new photograph now of the princess of wales, the palace says it was shot this week. we have brand-new details from kate herself on her cancer treatment just had. what straps bold to a rocket and hurtles it into space? >> john, with this indictment we are seeing for the first time the specifics of the accusations against the a 32-year-old journalist. accorded to the russian prosecutor general 's office, he is accused of gathering secret information on orders from the cia. about a facility in their region which prepares military equipment. a civic case to be heard about 1100 miles east of moscow. it's where gursky which was arrested in march last year on suspicion of espionage. and the ceo publisher of the water journal called the charges "false and baseless" and that the latest move to a sham trial it while expected deeply disk appointing an outrageous. but imprudent considered dumb i can continued to stand by the charges. >> you believe he is innocent, russian law enforcement and security agencies believe that gershkovich committed a crime which is called "espionage." >> a u.s. state department spokesperson said there was absolutely zero credibility to the charges and the u.s. will continue to work to bring evan home. >> we have been clear from the start evan has done nothing wrong. should never been arrested in the first place. journalism is not a crime. the charges against him are false and the russian government knows they are false, he should be released immediately. >> russian's foreign minister said moscow would consider a prisoner swap only after a verdict in gershkovich's trial but no trial has been set. >> john: we have our thoughts and prayers with him and his family. lauren, thank you, sandra? >> sandra: all right, john dowd this, a police pulled over a car blocks from laguardia airport and inside they found an arsenal of weapons. a police vest and in transit best so why is all of this not getting more significant coverage here with brand-new details on the ongoing stigation retired nypd inspector paul morrow if we could put the picture back up of the weapons found, i mean come you can't overstate this, this is an incredible amount of weaponry found in a car with a police vest? i mean come a lot of harm could be done. what we know about this? >> it's very early in the investigation, okay? i would say the media take away with this is that proactive policing works. this is a very good example of broken windows policing because from all appearances this is not ongoing, this was an obscured taillight and two alert cops what was going on in the car and know all of this, but we should be careful. just because this reportedly muslim convert and at the same time had all of this disturbing stuff in his car does not get us to a counterterrorism case. we may get there but we don't right now according to the charges have a terrorism intent. so they will be doing interviews. they will be dumping his phones. they will be looking at his social media presence. they will be talking to what family he has. reportedly has a child with another woman, they will be interviewing her and they will try to put together whether or not all of this occurred in the arena of terrorism. if you had contact with anybody overseas or something like that, short of that you may end up at the end of the day with just a weapons case and somebody leading a slipping down life and maybe he has some personal demons. >> john: if it's a weapons case it's a weird one. i mean he has the guy fox mask there which is used as a symbol of resistance against an oppressive state. he has handguns there he has large capacity theater magazines for the handguns, he also has a baton has been affixed with a blade to turn it into some sort of hatchet, and on that baton was inscribed the words "you left me no choice, i'm sorry. you're going to learn today" and an error ""god forgive me" that would all seem pretty troubling. >> it's definitely troubling. that's why i say the investigation will be very full. nypd intelligence bill is almost certainly scribing this very hard and they will be delving into his life because yes, it's not a normal weapons case. the fact he had the vest the nypd seems to indicate he may have wanted to sort of penetrate an area. now look, i don't see any issue he was doing anything but relative to laguardia, i find that to be a bit of a leap at this point, i could be wrong, something could develop but this is not the kind of weaponry or planning that it's going to be involved in doing something relative to taking down an airplane or something like that. so the fact he was in northern queens near laguardia, that's where they got him. but we are early in this case and i would stress that. will have to see if he talks. i don't know what statements come apparently he did not say much when they picked him up. it is definitely troubling, but his social media will be a big deal here. because you want to see if he was indeed radicalized by somebody else. >> sandra: yes social media tells us a lot in these investigations hopefully this one does as well. meanwhile i want to ask you about your city, governor hochul is considering a face mask band now in new york city on the subway setting anti-semitic acts, you can make the case these masks are being used to carry out crimes. we are seeing this over and over again, but do you agree with this and is it needed? >> i think it is at this point. something needs to be done. less from it this way and try to advance the story. i think we are well past a point these are anti-israel protests. air into plano with this thing and it's pretty blatant anti-semitism. when you are marking the doors of jewish people in brooklyn with the insignia for the military owner of hamas you are sending a very strong signal. that to me is really getting into very heavy hate crime areas and i wonder where are the cases? because i don't see any cases being made in this arena buried at funding going on, these are the same groups that occupied the campuses that did hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage, they have been attacking and intimidating jewish students and i don't see the cases coming up. where is doj on the funding? and the local police? where is tish james the doj in new york? with the big financial case against donald trump. where is this financial case against the group's funding this? we all know who the groups are come we talked about them on the air. where is the d.a.'s office that put the blood and treasure and going after donald trump of that bogus case? where is he doing the investigations, running sources, pulling stuff online to try to figure out who are the people that marked this? a member something, hamas and has blood designated entities under the state department and treasury that is, surrey with isis. if you are waving and ices flag outside a jewish demonstration as they did the other day a jewish event comment you are waving and ices flag and writing isis insignia on the house of jewish people in brooklyn, this entire country would be screaming for those investigations but we are not's hearing that. >> john: you must event channel
