many of these districts look like frankenstein. they cannot really pass any kind of muster in terms of any s sembs semblance to them other than trying to concentrate black voters into one district or disperse them across districts to dlut their overall voting power, if you will. i think there's another part of the gerrymandering crisis we're in to emphasize. it's helping to fuel so much of the polarization and brokenness in our politics and fueling this us versus them, zero sum nature of the politics. the politics of division. we want the politics to become good and that's why we need legislation like the freedom to vote act to help to prevent and end this gerrymandering that's happening across the country. >> it's a good point, bianna. we hear it from republican and democratic lawmakers that only elect partisans and therefore, no meeting of minds in the
i'm sure you noticed driving in in the motorcade, the children with the balloons and flags. who struck me first is that is wonderful but shows politicians don't come to places like this. is this something you plan to keep doing? >> yes. >> we talked a little bit about why you're here but does it say something about the brokenness of our politics we skip non-swing states, politicians just don't come to places like here? >> the reason i'm here is because there are people here who matter. and when you look at a place like greenville, mississippi with a population of 30,000 people, we're talking about families. we're talking about children. we're talking about people with aspirations and dreams for themselves, for their community and they deserve to be seen and deserve to be heard and we cannot expect people to knock on our door to have to come to us in order for us to be responsive to their needs. so i'm here because this is a

who has become craven to donald trump in all of this to undermine the trust of the election and impact voting rights which he has already done with legislation this past session. >> how dangerous is it that this is happening in another state nearly one year after the election? even if the results, yet again, confirm that biden won, how dangerous is it, matt, that it's happening? >> it's incredibly dangerous because there are a group of voters out there that are susceptible to believe the lies of donald trump and greg abbott. even though there are no facts or truth that supports it at all, they believe that. and so i actually feel in many ways feel bad for these voters because governor abbott doesn't respect them, he doesn't tell them the truth, he is not honest with them. the voters believe that and act out upon that. i think it's incredibly bad. our democracy is already in a fragile point and in my view is broken in many different ways. this only is going to add to the brokenness and i think it's fundamentally at the point of voting as you know, stephanie, is the only way people can hold
