Dominick's Diner in Erie to be featured on 'Undercover Billionaire'

Dominick's Diner, 123 W. 12th St., was scheduled to appear on the Discovery channel's “Undercover Billionaire: Comeback City” last Wednesday, and then was moved to this Wednesday, according to Dominick's co-owner Tina Ferraro. But now the series has been postponed a few weeks. The episode description reads "We head to Dominick’s to see just how many eggs we have to break to get this local diner back on its feet."
Did anyone else wonder how Dominick's Diner remodeled while also saying the pandemic might put them under?
In September, Tina Ferraro had told me that there was a point at which they thought they might have to close.

Original undercover billionaire Glenn Stearns shares advice with Tipsy Bean owner Gisele Littrell on the pilot episode of the new Discovery Channel spin-off series Undercover Billionaire: Comeback City.
Who wants to meet a billionaire? That's the premise of the new Discovery Channel spin-off series
Undercover Billionaire: Comeback City, which sets up six struggling Erie small businesses with no-longer-incognito entrepreneur Glenn Stearns for a little tough love.
Stearns, of course, was the titular "undercover billionaire" of the original series' debut season (a second season is airing now). He abandoned his identity and all his resources and connections to come to Erie under the guise of "Glenn Bryant," tasked with building a million-dollar business in 90 days — with a measly $100 in his pocket. The result was the West Lake Road restaurant Underdog BBQ (valued at $750,000) and a name and reputation in the Gem City that now precedes him.

'Undercover Billionaire' returns to TV, and to Erie

Glenn Stearns' ties to Erie began — at least for the purposes of television — when his private plane landed at Venango Regional Airport, and he climbed into a battered pickup truck and headed north.
The California businessman, now 57, was in stealth mode then as he drove into town with a smartphone and $100 in his pocket.
Although he was trailed by a film crew during his three-month stay, his identity and his exact mission were a secret as filming began for Discovery's "Undercover Billionaire."
The premise of that reality show, which debuted in August 2019, was that Stearns, who assumed a new identity during his stay, had 90 days to turn that $100 into a business worth $1 million.

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. — Eight years ago, Central Falls was facing dark days. The impoverished 1.29-square-mile city had just emerged from bankruptcy, and its former mayor, Charles D. Moreau, was heading to prison after pleading guilty to a federal corruption charge.
