floridian. i respect hurricanes. something is happening with our environment, as you see wildfires, stronger storms. this storm developed really quickly. i think as it moves over the warm waters of the gulf, it is projected to become a cat 2 or 3 very quickly. the weather is changing. i their our response to that has to match the increased threat. we are concerned about storm surge in our area, four to seven feet. it can be devastating if you are in low lying areas. very concerned that folks don't get complacent. i think after seeing what happened with hurricane ian less than a year ago, folks understand how devastating storm surge can be. >> we really appreciate you being with us. we know it's a busy time. good luck to you and stay in touch. >> thank you, ma'am. joining me now is meteorologist bill karins following the storm's track. bill, how bad could this get? >> it's going to be a powerful storm. likely maybe a category 4.
