griff: the starliner launch delayed at least 24 hours but yet they never set back in a crucial moment. fox news live. alicia i am alicia acuna -- -- acuna you. under four minutes to the launch suddenly delayed over a technical issue. let's go live to the kennedy space center with what we are learning at this hour. >> . >> it turns out this was an automated hold. generated by a computer analyzing the very dynamic conditions on the atlas five rocket in the minutes before launch. looking at supercold liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen used as the oxidizer in the propellant in the launch. they have to be absolutely perfect conditions. if anything goes wrong even a software glitch the computer shuts it down. the launch is on hold. engineers are now trying to get to the bottom of exactly what spooked the computer and what went wrong to cause the automated trigger. astronauts are safe. cruise help them to exit the spacecraft. basically doing in reverse what they did several hours earlier in the day as it entered the spacecraft hoping that today's launch attempt would be the charm to actually get to pilot the new spacecraft from boeing into low earth orbit but not to be. so when is the next opportunity? because the iss orbiting the earth is a moving target you have very specific launch times with instantaneous launch windows and you have to hit them to the exact second in order to reach the exact trajectory. the next opportunity if they can get the rocket turned around in time with united launch alliance says they can reload the fuel and ready. the only condition as you get to the bottom of what triggered the scrub. but everything in place the rocket could attempt another launch again tomorrow at exactly 12 oh 3:00 p.m. - - 12 : 03:00 p.m. eastern time tomorrow also back up launch opportunities on wednesday the fifth and thursday the sixth. alicia if folks did not know by now our resident space nerd so this also means he gets to be our space nerd one more day. we will see you tomorrow. >> president biden's son hunter will appear in court for jury selection in his trial for the three federal gun charges as a father and son rode bikes together today in delaware. >> this will be historic as a first criminal trial of a sitting president son today the present is enjoying time with family before headed to a federal courthouse he was accused of lying on his drug use a gun and he kept for 11 days special counsel team will lay out evidence that could include hunter's laptop they have argued the contents may have been manipulated. federal prosecutors are adamant it is real and holds proof of hunter's guilt. jurors are also expected to hear testimony from former romantic partner including potentially his ex-wife. axial's is out with a new report saying he has been in the legal battle with unpaid alimony. the trial will likely reveal highly personal and unsavory details of the first and all of which white house aides reportedly worry would affect the president psyche. >> the white house may never comment on of you can bet every single day that trial will weigh heavily on the president of the united states who will be affected by this in a profound way. >> at a hearing last week hunter's team hit a portion of their defense strategies suggesting the former owners may have altered at what lies at the heart of the case. facing a maximum penalty 25 years in prison and 750,000-dollar fine if convicted on all three counts. alicia live from washington. thank you so much. griff: president biden reacting to the conviction of former president trump with a hush money trial as trump sees a record-setting numbers following the guilty verdict. we are live at the white house with the latest. >> good afternoon. ahead of the prepared remarks yesterday about the war in gaza, president biden reacted to something his opponent set about the trial. >> it was a rigged trial. i'm honored to be involved because somebody has to do it. i might as well keep going and be the one but i'm honored to be involved because we are fighting for our constitution. >> it is irresponsible to say this was rigged just because they don't like the verdict. justice should be respected we should never allow anyone to tear it down. >> here is more reaction from the biden campaign convicted felon or not trump will be the nominee but there was another certainty as you read this donald trump supporters are fired up and that likely setting fundraising records for his campaign. that was prescient because that's what happened exactly 24 hours later after the first conviction the trump campaign received 52.$8 million in donations and 30 percent were first-time donors according to the trump campaign. biden offered support for the plan to end the war both sides are far apart one once hamas destroyed saying it was to continue to rule gaza. in a recent "washington post" op-ed saying washington should not play the role of mediator after 40 americans were slaughtered on october 7 the rescue of american citizens warrants the unparalleled us intelligence surveillance assets as well as elite special operations forces. us military is nowhere to be found and there will be a panel tomorrow morning on "fox news sunday". >> live on from the north on a beautiful saturday. >> vowing to appeal the conviction and with the latest details. >> former president trump says it is not over as his defense team appears for the appeals process but the trump campaign touts major donations and the campaign set within the first 24 hours after the verdict was handed down raising $53 million. that total is not verifiable until they file with the fcc but there was an update today from charlie casper reno says the campaign now believes the full day of fundraising after the verdict will have pulled in $150 million. within minutes after trump was convicted the home huge red breaking news i'm a political prisoner while asking people to donate. gop mega donor told fox he is not surprised the trump campaign is stating the totals. >> that is a lot of momentum and a lot of people that are very upset about this trial and verdict. >> on friday a crowd gathered as the former president spoke to the media inside. we saw trump loyalist another celebrating the conviction political strategist mostly has caused supporters to double down in their respective political spheres meanwhile the president spoke out for the first time yesterday and said in part "the american principal no one is above the law is reaffirmed". but we caught up with the president one more time yesterday to hear more. >> do you think this conviction helps trump? >> if they bring up the charges? >> if trump says you're just trying to bruise him? what you say? that you are pulling the strings behind the scenes to help yourself? >> former president trump is set to be sentenced just four days before the rnc. >> is bring in our political panel today. ceo laura fink. let me start with you. do you believe this conviction will help trump's campaign cracks if you don't think it will i will give you 52 million reasons why. >> money cannot buy love. but it is in the numbers trump has attracted a lot that has voted for biden. these are more likely to be voters of color the latino men that biden has been struggling with illness offers an opportunity because they have said in many polls they would reconsider the vote now is up to biden to come back to their s side. >> the pre- eviction -- -- conviction pull numbers. it will make no difference but we were offering insight to say when the whole is done the reality of the moment has arrived. guy benson now writing at town hall had a civilian peace and said he has voted against trump saying in the column being very transparent but every turn of his life he still sees him not fit but here is what he wrote about why he is considering voting for trump. he says russia collusion laptop and this is arguably as dangerous or more dangerous than anything he has done are we in a moment quick. >> . >> a prologue in terms of politics. every time donald trump has been counted out or down access hollywood or impeachments or january 60 somehow emerged stronger and came back from defeats and others could not survive. we don't know how that cookie will crumble going forward but the republican party strongly united even those not necessarily with trump also the democratic party is not was joe biden recent polls show donald trump is almost double the black vote if those numbers hold it doesn't really matter what will happen because he cannot win the presidency. now the 60000 votes across the four states who will decide the election have immigration, inflation, israel,n and for many that's what will decide the election and you have three or four weeks until the debate and that's when these issues will take hold. >> he hasn't talked about refractive health on the ballots in several swing states also donald trump stood in front of microphones and did not speak about any of the issues we are talking about. he is exclusively focused on his own victimization. and that makes him look troubling for the swing voters punch the ticket for biden and those have not voted for trump before i think he's in trouble because he doesn't have the message discipline to speak to those voters and i think biden does. >> but let's play trump yesterday reacting to his conviction. >> what they are doing right now winning in the courts. we will show them. we will fight. >> is messaging is really that they are not coming after me. they are coming after you, the voter. >> i had the pleasure of listening to that entire speech it is 1 percent of what you are talking about a 99 percent about himself. i think that is traditional trump. strategist on the republican side would say he is doubling down but does that pull in the swing voters? he has energized his base with the speech but there was not a lot of persuadable voters especially those that were once in the biden camp. >> we will see how that plays. but first we saw hunter biden riding bikes with his dad, president biden. but on monday the trial starts. how much of an impact cannot have? >> those in glass houses be careful about throwing stones. the biden campaign is very fond of using convicted felon and that could apply to the current president son. there is a debate coming up, and that will be prosecuted. joe biden is not able to defend and articulate and defend an allegation about his son. he cannot do it because it is so personal. that will be an issue with the courts and the american voters. griff: whatever happened with hunter's trial i suspect that former president trump will bring up hunter biden in the first debate. will that have an impact? >> it falls into the issue that lines up with his base strongly but we saw the investigations on the hill and any accusations of wrongdoing cannot be substantiated and fell flat. there is a risk republicans overplay their hand. with the son who is in the throes of a drug addiction it could come off attacking the family and personal problems. griff: talking about the swing states pennsylvania, wisconsin, michig. if you had to pick a state where it all comes down? >> pennsylvania and that's an issue where you have seen before the president is leading right now. if he cannot pull ahead while being convicted in court when will he do it? there is five minutes to go it's not looking good. >> the former blue wall democrats have to get back. michigan and wisconsin in pennsylvania. watch out for nevada that state swings wildly and could go either way. griff: thank you very much. alicia us egyptian and israeli officials are scheduled to meet tomorrow in cairo to discuss the reopening of the gaza crossing as they are urging prime minister netanyahu to negotiate our hostages and we are focusing on this from london. >> we have a lot to digest. many world leaders are also speaking out and encouraging the new proposal that was proposed of course including from the uk, germany france and canada just to name a few the president says there is three phases to the new proposal the first is a six week cease-fire to negotiate a permanent and in the second phase is the return of the remaining hostages and israel withdraw its forces in the third phase would entail a reconstruction plan for gaza. hamas says it use it positively from biden speech. >> for months people all over the world have called for cease-fire now it is time to raise your voices and demand that hamas come to the table and end the war they began spent the office of israel prime minister says the main goals and conditions for ending the war have always been the elimination of hamas and freeing of all hostages. to the proposal israel will continue to insist they are met before permanent cease-fire is put in place. meanwhile an egyptian american israeli meeting is scheduled to be held tomorrow in cairo to discuss the reopening of the rafah crossing. it was sees last month and since then humanitarian aid has said it's too dangerous to travel in the area forcing food supplies to rot. of course we are watching closely to see whether this proposal will be accepted on either side. griff: the biden administration is quietly giving ukraine permission one doctor recommended for arthritis pain. griff: is giving the green light to use american weapons inside russia was strict conditions although leaders have hesitated to allow such action over the presidents warnings over a possible nuclear conflict. >> for the first time president biden has lifted his own restrictions so the ukrainian military can use some american weapons to strike targets inside russia to protect ukraine's second-largest city from the ongoing russian assaults. senior us officials say this is a limited policy shift and does not include permission to use american long-range ultra larry with a 200-mile range to strike inside russian territory. ukraine can use the shorter range guided precision launched rockets with a 43-mile range. secretary of state hinted us policy will adjust to help ukraine stop russia's advances. >> the stakes could not be higher. we will continue to do what we have been doing to adapt and adjust. >> russia began its attack on mh and on may 13 defense secretary austin and the chairman had a video conference call with ukrainian counterparts. ukraine requested permission to use provided weapons across the border in the region and the president signed off on the new policy this week as the leaders of both france and germany publicly pressured him to do so. >> how do we explain to ukrainians we will have to protect everything we want quirks if we tell them you are not allowed to raise the point where missiles are fired from. >> american long-range tactical missiles can only be used by ukraine to hit military targets inside russia and not civilian infrastructure. fox news. alicia joining me live former nato secretary general. thank you so much for joining us today. i would like to begin with the biden administration lifting the ban on the use of american weapons and russian territory here is secretary of state lincoln. >> over the past few weeks ukraine came to us asking for the authorization to use weapons we are providing to defend against this aggression including russian forces and then attacking to ukraine that went right to the president and as you have heard he is approved the use of weapons for the purpose. >> secretary-general how significant is this decision and what potential risk is there for the us and its allies? >> the decision is definitely a step in the right direction. but too little too late. what we should do immediately is to lift all restrictions on weapon deliveries. we cannot ask the ukrainians to combat the russians and that's what we are doing. we welcome this decision but we should have gone further. >> we also heard from the current nato secretary-general. >> as this war has evolved nato support has evolved and the welcome that allies are easing restrictions this is a war of aggression and russia has attacked ukraine. >> with that in mind you are looking to join the alliance so how does that not create article five complications does is drag member states into a war with russia? >> yes. the nato summit, they should extend an invitation to start talks with ukraine. that does not imply membership overnight but we have to deal with the questions you raised with a country that is already at war. it's important because until now people use the argument that we cannot invite ukraine as long as a war is going on but those who use that argument unintended the give to 10 the incentive to continue the war we should break that argument and that's why we should send an invitation to ukraine for talks. alicia how do you believe putin would read a move or invitation like this? could he not see that as an aggression stands? >> i could not care less of the reactions we have seen in the past how they have tried to threaten us and then to be threat and with catastrophic consequences they threaten the two hunters directly and nothing has happened the time has come to call putin's bluff. he uses threats as a weapon that must not happen. >> the nato summit in july but also in june. later this month president zelensky is part of the peace summit in switzerland. and the president zelensky extended an invitation to president biden to please attend the summit. there are 100 nations that are actually sending represe representatives. >> show your leadership in advancing the peace, the real peace not just a force between the strikes. all commitments will be fulfilled. >> france and germany said they will attend but as of right now are planning to attend a fundraiser in hollywood. how should the ukrainians read that move of him not attending, so far? >> . >> i do think the president should reconsider his decision. is putin wins in ukraine then american leadership is over and will be taken over by those led by china and russia and north korea. so a lot is at stake. that is why i think president biden should participate in the peace summit in switzerland. >> thank you so much for your time today. >> june marks men's health
