president as a genocide joke. of course president biden is not here but clearly protesters sending a message to mr. biden, his administration and of course, his campaign team. >> after the defacing of that statue or anything else that happened, any arrest you are aware of? >> not that we've heard from authorities, we see police responded several locations where they were concerned about activities but i think there are cameras all over the square so my guess is they will be able to figure out who defaced the statute but bottom line is, we did not witness any arrest from our vantage points. >> mike manual reporting outside the white house. thanks. >> president biden was not at the white house, thousands of miles away meeting with french president macron attending a state dinner in paris. the two leaders discussed the wars and gaza and grain and more. white house correspondent peter doocy live in paris, he has the latest. >> tonight at the state dinner that just wrapped up, president biden told a story that is either new or just rarely shared with the public about why he considers himself a son of the american revolution. >> had been told by my grandfather that this was established, maybe someone can help me, i am a son of the american revolution because he came over with lafayette never went home. stayed in the united states so that makes me a son of the american nearly united about netanyahu addressing a joint meeting of congress. however, the chasm threatens to fracture the party. bernie sanders and other progressives declared they won't attend. >> this is a time to choose a side. bernie sanders sides of the terrace them so get. i expect most of the members of the house of both parties in the senate will join us for this historic address. >> chuck schumer house minority leader hakeem jeffries signed off on the invitation for netanyahu along with johnson and senate minority leader mitch mcconnell. among progressives, jeffries reminded his attendants. >> like every single joint address to congress, i plan to attend and participate that relates to every single joint address that's taken place during the one 18th congress. >> the housecleaning democrat working to slow the flow of illegal migration at the southern border? a major election issue this year, former acting home and security secretary chad wolf tells us if he thinks the president's move makes any difference. that's next. ♪ william anderson, one of the first humans to orbit the moon died in a plane crash yesterday. the following footage might be disturbing. he was piloting the plane when it went and to uncontrolled no dive into the watters in seattle. in 1968, and this was one of three astronauts to make history by successfully orbiting the moon. on the flight, he took the iconic earth rise from one of the most famous pictures ever taken. retired major general william anderson was 90 years old. >> despite biden's executive actions on the southern border this week, fox news cameras are still seen a steady stream of migrants crossing into the united states. matson is live with more. >> months ago there was a group of 40 migrants right here, will get to the video in a minute but i want to set the scene, just outside san diego metropolitan high heat, the sun is intense and you can see migrants trying to find any bitter shade under the desert sun. it's very hot on your skin. migrants from all over the world, vietnam, malaysia, tu turkey, migrants are telling us they are seeking work and some have friends or family here. one migrant says he thinks is a good person so he hopes the united states will not deport him. border patrol process them and remove shoe laces sometimes so they don't run and can't use places to harm themselves or anyone. i talked to agence last night and they said for three years the area has been busy because cartel, coyotes and scouts know there is a large hole in the border wall so they can easily push illegal migrants here outside san diego. agents are overwhelmed and this is not what they signed up for. historically they were chased after smaller groups but now they are overwhelmed with large groups, 100 plus show up, it's a lot of time to process them and it renders them useless to find runners and drug smugglers. >> matt, thank you. for more on the crisis at our southern border, chad wolf, former acting department of homeland security secretary and executive director of america first policy institute. president biden took out his pen and signed executive order this week that supposed to cut down on illegal immigration at the southern border. three and half years he said he didn't have the power to do that and now he does. why is he doing it now? >> i think he is because we are in the middle of an election year five months from a presidential election several weeks from the first presidential debate and he knows he's underwater on this. electrical says the vast majority of americans, not just 51%, we are in the 60s, high 60s 70% of americans believe his failed approach in his approach along the border is a failure and has been. you're right, he's told the american people for three years the first of all, there was no crisis, operational control of the border and his hands were tied and he couldn't do anything and needed congress to pass new laws. all that is a lie and his action this week proved to the american people he had the ability to do something, just chose not to for three and half years. >> we heard in the report from one immigrant who says he hopes to be able stay in america because he's a good person, what you think about that reasoning? >> not a valid reason to come to the united states and certainly not to come illegally. this is the joke occurring and has been for the last several years. a lot of individuals come because they want to stay here in the united states, economic opportunity, they want to reunite with families that might be here, is a reason to come illegally and certainly some reason to claim asylum which we know the vast majority do because when they do, they get released into the interior of the united states asylum was originally intended to help people truly persecuted like jews during world war ii when america set up asylum exceptions for immigrants but a lot of these folks are sickly looking for work or something else. >> there is very few actually qualify for the protections of saddam under u.s. law, about 12%, roughly 12% of those who cross and everyone else has a fraudulent claim in many are abusing the system find a loophole missing the magic words so they can get an to the united states and the biden administration knows all of this. all these stats and figures are on the website so it is amazing doctor several years, year after year they are not taking proactive steps to cut down on the abuse of the asylum system and catch and release because whether we talk about asylum the parole authority the biden administration is using, the end result is the same which is if you are released into chicago, new york or anywhere else, you call your friends and family back home and say i made it and now they start to come as well. >> when donald trump was elected president in 2016, his signature issue was i would say, build the wall. we just heard the immigrants are flooding into the area outside san diego in part because there is no wall and the coyotes are smuggling them in, pushing them in, is that evidence that the wall works? >> certainly a factor. physical infrastructure works. if you listen to the aggressive, they will tell you somehow it is racist. if you talk to border patrol agents and the men and women there protecting line, they will tell you that border wall, effective border wall in strategic locations make all the difference in the world and the traffickers and smugglers no it's not and will funnel folks there instead of building that infrastructure the kingdom cross and areas we want them to cross. right now they are crossing where they want to cross and that is not how it should work. >> we got catch and release chemical to be physically possible to round anybody who comes across the border and put them on a plane or bus and send them back to where they came from? >> we are talking millions over the last three and a half years but yes, you could identify individuals that have gone through the asylum system and have a final order of removal. individuals on a roll, to your discretionary authority that can be ended at any time, there are criminals and national security threats and others you can prioritize. the biden administration at the same time historic numbers of illegal individuals crossing, they had historic numbers of deportations and removals. historic lows, i should say so those stats don't add up. you should remove individuals aggressively because in a sense of that deterrent for those who want to abuse our system, they know they are not going to be removed and they will keep coming. >> former acting secretary of dhs, thank you. >> thank you. >> coming up, prosecution rest, hunter biden's defense team is weighing whether
