well, good morning, how was your weekend? nice to be with you again, i'm robin meade. here's the news. what in the world? a 16-year-old honor student was beaten to death perhaps by gang members and chicago police have video that shows the whole thing. plus roman polanski is behind bars. what could happen with a 32 year old sex charge? most people think walmart best symbolizes the united states? a look into american culture that has people talking about george clooney, and millionaires and president obama. first our top story, iran says it's successfully tested the longest range missile overnight. state-run tv reports the missiles can hit targets 1250 miles away. that means u.s. bases in the middle east and places like israel and athens are in the range. still, the white house says diplomacy is the best way to deal with iran. >> the reality is there is no military option that does anything more than buy time. the estimates are one to three years or so. so i think, as i say, while you don't take options off the table. there's still room left for diplomacy. >> this comes days after iran announced it has a second nuclear facility it had not acknowledged before. they say it is for peaceful purposes. u.s. is calling for the strongest possible sanctions against iran if the facility is being used to make nuclear weapons. full access to the new facility. chicago police are using amateur video of a 16-year-old boy being beaten to death to search for suspects now. [ screaming ] >> some people blame gang violence for the brawl that killed darian albert. four people are being questioned. >> i don't understand how 16, 17-year-old kids, how you can go over someone's body and beat them and stomp them to death. >> darian albert's family says the honor roll student was attached because he would not join a neighborhood gang. others say he may have simply been a bystander at the wrong place in the wrong time. they want people to see the video if it helps identify who beat him up. roman polanski could be extradited to the united states on a decade old warrant. his arrest is getting alolt of attention on cnn.com. polanski pleaded guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old girl. but he fled to france before he was sentenced. saturday swiss authorities arrested him as he entered the country to be honored at the film festival. >> for me a shock and i'm ashamed to be -- that swiss is doing such a thing to a brilliant, fantastic genius. >> earlier this year a california judge rejected a request to throw out polanski's case even though his victim supported it. she says bringing the case up over and over again only causes more pain for her and her family. polanski already paid her an undisclosed settlement. at almost 40 years young, brett favre led his team to a victory. shut my mouth. >> me too, robin. he's still got it. this is why the vikings brought him in to do this and this is what he does. he does his magic, you have to see the play. with 12 seconds left, they are down 4. favre rolls to the right and heeds on a prayer in the end zone and catch and touchdown. with two seconds left, greg lewis makes the stunning catch. that is his first catch ever in a vikings uniform. so minnesota wins there in first place in their division at 3-0. they are celebrating up there. and we'll have more sports in about ten minutes. thank you. new this morning, more than half a million kids in the united states have dangerous reactions to common drugs like penicillin every year. a study in pediatrics says children under the age of 5 are affected most, including rashes and stomach aches, but five% were hospital sized. parents should pay close attention. half of the people would support taxing the incomes of the country wealthiest millionaires by 50% or more. that's from a new 60 minutes vanity fair poll. other interesting tid bits an overwhelming majority think walmart best symbolizes america and men would rather be george clooney for a week than president obama. one in 2003 are not sure what twitter is and 39% think it's a fad. coming and going. what do you think, that men would rather be george clooney than the president?
