pass proficiency tests and the percentage of black kids who pass those same tests. in minneapolis, the achievement gaps are massive. in reading, white students are ahead of black students by 44 points. in math, white students are ahead of black students by 49 points. ♪ i believe i can fly >> but there are two schools that get stellar outcomes for black children. they are charter schools, run by this man, eric mahmoud. he's an engineer turned educator, who oversees harvest prep, a coed kindergarten through 6th grade school.
