The 11th Hour With Stephanie Ruhle

do we want to gamble again? do they want to -- knowing that israel can also rain rockets come missiles to their key facilities wherever they might be that is going to be something that the iranians areh going to have to consider and i would also be very skeptical when the iranians boast and brag and play down reports. everything that they say should be looked at with a grain of salt at the moment. >> thank you for joining us tonight. this morning where you are. i appreciate it. glad i want to bring in my colleagues, nbc white house correspondent, he has covered president biden and his inner circle for many years. you know this president, michael, better than any other reporter i know. he urged israel to show rg restraint after the attack that took place last weekend. how worried is the president tonight? i know you haven't spoken yet or the white house about this thing escalating. this is not what he wanted to happen. >> well, stephanie, i think what the president is doing now is balancing two somewhat

the ayatollah khamenei said there must be a response to the killing of these seven irgc members, and they immediately blamed israel and partially the states for that strike, saying it was like an a strike on territory. so there was a lot of buildup to the iranian attack weekend against israel that included hundreds of drones and missiles. and the israelis then said there must be a response to the attack on their territory. and overnight, we saw at part of that response, about 200 miles south of the iranian capital of tehran, where israeli strikes were reported, how the iranians are trying to downplay this incident. they say their air defenses system was active and that the explosions heard in this area were successful interceptions. the reality is you have to take everything that iranian state media says with a grain of salt. but this does give iran an opportunity to take an exit ramp and avoid in unraveling

will be back at a different place because they go to fact-check his stuff. >> kayleigh: here's the response in part, we have painstakingly inspected and we want airplanes to meet standards that are measured in a 100th of a inch -- we are fully confident in the safety and durability of the dreamliner and the safety of the 777. >> michele: my late father was a engineer and did a lot of things in sight averroes admired boeing as a company. but to say you take a whistle-blower with a grain of salt and say the kinds of things not in response to questions to questions voluntarily, i am curious as to why you wouldn't take that seriously. that they are piling on -- >> kevin: i took it seriously i would just dig into his motivations. i'm a skeptic. and when i see this type of display -- maybe this is true, but i would validate it. i really would.

race if he doesn't win in iowa f he doesn't come in second in iowa? >> i think it depends on how bad the third place. obviously he says not. i don't think you can take what a candidate says on election day about their future plans with much more than a grain of salt. i don't know how he doesn't do anything that play a spoiler or isn't wasting time and money. since he staked the whole thing on iowa for months now. you become dubious when at the last minute you say, i can't finish third if it's a strong third. so i don't think he should stay. who knows what he will actually do. >> for once he has been saying he will win iowa. he's calling himself now the underdog, that he's going to do well in iowa. the change in the rhetoric tells you something. mark leibovich, ali vitali, shaq brewster, thank you very much. what new hampshire voters say they will do to keep donald

i would again caution people, don't take these polls i would again caution people, take these polls with a grain of salt. please don't put too much stock in them. but looking at desantis, for example, there's really no other candidate who has as much as stake as he does here. he's visited all 99 of iowa's counties, a political feat that's known as the full grassley after the state senator. and he and his allied groups have spent more than $35 million on advertising in the state. so he's, again, somebody who tonight is so big for him because he's also gotten the endorsement of the iowa governor, kim reynolds, as well as bob vander plaats, a very influential iowa evangelical leader. and then there's again, nikki haley, who, unlike desantis, iowa hasn't really been central to her campaign strategy and she hasn't spent much time in the state. she's chosen to focus on new hampshire, which comes next, where a lot of polls have shown her within striking distance. but let's not forget two other names which are still in the race, and that's vivek ramaswamy, the businessman, and asa hutchinson, the former governor of arkansas.

here is margin of error, 3.7%. really desantis and haley could be in reversed positions there. it is a large margin of error, how do you see the race shaking out? >> i agree with you, a large margin, if it's any three you have a grain of salt. basically haley and desantis are more or less tied in the big question is who's going to come out on top? if it's haley, it will give her momentum into new hampshire where she's doing better anyway and that will hurt desantis on the other hand, desantis finishes second, maybe even close the gap with trump and it gives the ability to argue he is viable and potential alternative to trump. >> i know both of those second and third place candidates, desantis and haley, whichever one you want to put in which position, they've spent time in

pennsylvania today. i think it's his second time in a week. and in pennsylvania he's leading in the polls. do you believe that the president is finding his campaign mojo? >> yes. i also think that biden continues to over perform. i don't want to teach a history lesson here, but in 2023, we were told that youngkin was going to wary a red vestments of the legislator. that didn't happen. in 2022, we were told that there was going to be a huge red wave. that didn't happen. in 2020, joe biden who was not supposed to be the nominee really overperformed, so i would say that i would take a lot of this with a grain of salt. certainly people are mad, i do think we are in this position because a lot of people feel like donald trump should not be held accountable the way that he absolutely should be, and with donald trump court case, the law is the same even if a lot of people like you. that is what it is. but >> that is if you ever actually face trial. will that happen in the next year? >> can we take a commercial

response could be made in a court filing. joining me now to explain exactly what this means for the georgia case is anthony michael crisis, a constitutional law professor at -- can you help me understand, first of all, given where these allegations are coming from, how much stock do you put in them? do you see anything potentially hazardous in the sourcing here? >> i think we have to be, cognizant of the fact that this is a parroting of a filing in a divorce proceeding. and so the divorce proceedings, family law, domestic relations issues, these are highly contentious fights that often contain documents with allegations which may or may not be substantiated which beer may not be true. and so we have to take i think all of this with a grain of salt given the source. it may be true, it may not be true. we really have to be cautious about that and wait for more

did not build the wall. that's what builds -- fresher the other republicans. they say, yes, but he's donald trump. >> can i make another point on what he said? it was interesting, the contrast, desantis, he's a politician, so take it with a grain of salt. i think people look at trump and he says, you know what, you need to win elections, this is where the public is, and i think, in a weird way, i think people say, well, he's being honest, he's authentic, he's not to bsing us. i think that is part of what works for him, and has worked for him. people do not look at him as a politician in the way that they look at a ron desantis, or a nikki haley, or any other. i'm talking about his supporters here, who are very hostile to the prevailing politics. i think that is part of his strength. >> i do agree with, you he has changed some of the party orthodox on some issues, but you just heard him articulate his position on abortion which, actually, is a traditional
