Striking a balance between sophisticated elegance and domestic comfort.
January 19, 2021
Drawing inspiration from the designer’s personal experience of being at home during the global pandemic,
Brett Johnson's new Fall/Winter 2021 range is all about conveying this desire to create a balance between refined, sophisticated elegance and a more casual, relaxed domestic comfort.
For Brett, working from home and having to re-adjust everyday habits slowly morphed into a quest for understated, effortless luxury that stemmed from muted, comforting colors: timeless blue navy, off-white, black, grey to earth tones enhanced by pops of emerald. The materials imbue each garment with a deep sense of emotional warmth and tactile connection — as if to contrast any feeling of isolation and detachment of the past months. Materials like 12.5-micron cashmere, cashmere suede, grained calfskin, water repellent silk, sea island cotton, cotton and cashmere jersey, silk and cotton pique jerseys-- all play a big part in this comfy, WFH-friendly range.

people, we've got to look at what the election unfolds next year. if you remember and that '80s everybody counted out president reagan and his numbers 15, 20 points behind his opponent and it became a landslide. i think the president runs on his record. he runs on fighting china's unpaired trade practices and good economic numbers and he gets reelected. >> shannon: from the national journal today the headline why trump isn't likely to win a second term, democrats can lower all they want but a decisive defeat. josh said the weakest political shape of any president since george h.w. bush and to fight the economy, trumps clearest passive victory realizes democrats making a series of self the destructive decisions but to nominate a weak challenger they have a credible chance of unseating trump. >> thom: i don't buy it. that is pretty election-year rhetoric. i think the president runs on a strong record. i believe the american people
