>> laura: good evening, everyone i'm laura ingraham this is "the ingraham angle" from washington tonight. cleaning up for the boss that's the focus of tonight's angle. now, for years. elected democrats in san francisco and democrat governors have said that fixing the homelessness and crime problem was complex. and it would take more money and a lot of patients. police officials told the angle they felt helpless. >> get to stay out here. >> just live out here, do as much drugs as you want? >> yeah. injunction clearing tents and homeless camps. >> laura: can't clean it out. >> no. they want us to but we can't do it by law. right? a judge says no. unless you can provide a bed for every person you see out here. >> laura: well, the residents complaints about the crime, public fentanyl use and general filth fell on deaf ears. but it turns out a court order wasn't a problem at all all they needed was a visit by the guy who really has influence, chinese president xi jinping. >> while san francisco is in the spotlight for the asian pacific economic conference. city leaders making sure the city shines. repaving roadways like the honorsson street. bart doubling down by deep cleaning their nations overnight more often. scrubbing and power washing happening all over the city. >> the bottom of my shoes look clean. >> noticeable how clear the streets look how few homeless encampments there are on major for low fares. this shows what total fraud little leaders are. they always had the ability to clean up the cities and clean out the drug dens to send a correct me if i am wrong message to criminals but they chose not to. >> some people say this should be how appears always done. >> be what the beam who are here year around, you know, like local hardworking folks. >> the answer the left cares about power. not about your quality of life. they let the city sink into depravity because changing policies would mean they would be admitting that their high tax anti-police pro-criminal, prodrugs policies were wrong. but now, they are kind of like teenage girls primping before a date. newsom's printing up things for someone he needs to impress cleaning up because fancy leaders are coming in town that's true because it's true. buff it's also true for months and months and months prior to apec we have been having different conversations. and we have raised the bar of expectation between city, the county and the state. >> we couldn't do that before but so happy to do it now. this is more meaningless blather from him. the truth is newsom actually cares what xi thinks because, remember, is he going to need tiktok influencers who boost his future political ambitions and need the pro-china donors from hedge funds and silicon valley on his side as well. this requires making xi's date feel very special. and ditto for the biden campaign which is hoping to win over china to reassure wall street and to get their concrete pledges on climate change. now, the entire purpose of this meeting with china is to get a smismiling photo op. and to sigl we want a new era of collaboration with china. how do you think taiwan is feeling these days? and just as san francisco democrats have tried to paper over the suffering and blythe that they incentivized so too have the liberals in d.c. if you haven't been here lately, tent cities are growing and so is open air drug use. the place has spiraled into a sea of violence and criminality, especially car jacks and car breakings. >> 15 and 16-year-old are facing a number of charges connected to strange of armed car jacks. >> when it comes to carjacking and stuff like that, it happens so much it's sad. >> d.c. is under siege and we need help. >> laura: so, hearing all this, why was anyone prized by this story? secret service is saying before midnight last night right outside of naomi granddaughter of president biden secret service encountered what they believe three people breaking a window of a parked, unmarked and unoccupied government vehicle they say an agent discharged their service web, secret service says that the offender's immediately fled the scene in a red vehicle. >> laura: first thing that crossed my mind is what would have happened had a regular citizen shot at those criminals? well, we know what would happen, they would be in jail right now. was the biden granddaughter's life actually in danger? well, that is what the secret service is saying. glad everyone is okay. the sad reality is this just as we saw with the migrants shipped to vineyard and martha's. when they arrive on their doorstep, oh, they are suddenly forced to answer questions or deal with the consequences and even if the answers they give are pathetic. >> the president has taken action to make sure our communities are safer. are we concerned? obviously. obviously we want to make sure americans and their families feel safe and not just here in d.c. but across communities. but, we can't do this alone. we need congress to act. >> laura: okay. if the voters are okay with those types of foolish answers, then they are going to continue to get bad results. let's hope from coast-to-coast the awakening has begun. and that's the angle. all right, joining me now is januaryy khan. grew up in san francisco. she has had enough of the crime and filth. she left the city last mo month, generally, have you moved out to parts unknown. san francisco getting spiffed up. i hardly recognized the tenderloin district downtown. they are all cleaned up for china but not for the residents like you. >> thank you for having me on. it's actually pretty frustrating to see the city i grew up in was so easily cleanable for the 21 world leaders but not for taxpayers something fascinating. walls don't work but apparently fences work. you can't see abandoned, vacant store fronts that were brought to you by liberal policies. >> what we saw when we were there and we have been there many times reporting on the status of things. it seems to get worse not better. do you think after this apec meeting is over that this will revert to what it was before or suddenly as gavin newsom claimed it was going to be a new era of having a high bar for people there. >> well, he has been saying that new era and fix homelessness ever since he was mayor of san francisco. >> laura: i remember those days. by the way he framed the clean-up operation this way. >> this is momentum. this is directional. i want folks to know you see -- you are seeing a lot more of this all around town. and all around the bay area. we are cleaning up this state it's time to deliver for you, the taxpayers of california. you deserve it. >> laura: i need to take a shower every time you hear him talk. i'm sorry. i can't. >> this sounds like the same -- this sounds like the same talk that he promised during his recall, actually. >> he knows he might be up next at bat in the presidential race or maybe in 2028. but he knows that this is going to be an albatross around his neck and he is trying to pretend it's all better now. jenny, great to see you. thank you so much. >> do you think latino votes in georgia are up for grabs from either party in 2024? >> absolutely. there is a lot of frustration and a lot of broken promises. when trump was president, we don't have high gas, inflation on the food. this is the truth. >> right now i'm working three jobs. i have to, like, pay more things. >> laura: thanks to joe biden and the democrats, everything is more expensive. and hispanic americans, working class are being hit really hard. and on top of that, their neighborhoods are especially vulnerable to the scourge of illegal immigration. oftentimes it brings in drugs, crime, gangs, and, of course, a strain on local budgets. in fact, check this out today a new report by the house g.o.p. has the true cost of illegal immigration at staggering $450 billion per year over three years pretty bad it's per year. not that the illegals are grateful. in fact, many of them are now complaining that america isn't what they were told it was going to be. over the weekend, illegals who were busted to this multi million dollars shelter in brooklyn took one look after they got on the bus and they got back on the bus and said we are not staying. brooklyn assembly woman jamie williams told the new york daily news when the illegals realized they wouldn't be staying at another hotel they demanded to be taken somewhere else. join me now old friend ted cruz, great state of texas, author of new book "unwoke. how to defeat culturallism in america." only 2% of the illegals migrants are actually applying for work permits. 2% of the tens of thousands there. up to 8.4 million illegal immigrants. >> laura: that we know about. >> that's our best estimate. that includes over 2 million got-aways. those are people that the border patrol knows about but they didn't apprehend and those got-aways are much more likely to be criminals, rapist, gang members or terrorists. what is infuriating. this is man made. this is what joe biden and kamala harris of the democrats want. >> laura: does the birthright citizenship in the constitution in your mind is that something needs to be amended in the constitution or could it be interpreted to mean that illegals don't get to have children here? as a american citizen fairly open question. dispute what the 14th amendment means. i any we need to change it. if we can change it by legislation, great. if it takes a constitutional amendment, we should change it. look, i was down at the southern border three weeks ago. and i wept out midnight control parole as i do. within minutes encountered a group of about 20 or 25 mostly women and children. there was a 13-year-old girl unaccompanied. there was a 16-year-old girl unaccompanied. 15-year-old boy. >> laura: probably trafficked. >> every one of them said there were going to see tio spanish for uncle. yet when we asked them to tell about tio they couldn't say anything. they just a number. no, my tio doesn't know i'm coming. it was horrific. there was a 10-year-old gerbil who was there with an adult man and he claimed she was his daughter. there is no way that little girl, it was who are risk and it's happening every day. and this is what the democrats want. >> laura: how is that not impeachable conduct. i think's it's conspiracy to undermine u.s. sovereignty. impeach trump with phone equal zelenskyy and this is okay. >> absolutely impeachable conduct. they should have impeached alejandro mayorkas. >> laura: just get another one that's not going to help us. >> going after mayorkas lets us put the facts on trial. they should impeach mayorkas and impeach garland and impeach biden. and if you look at the record of each of them, this is the deliberate and it's an assault on our sovereignty. you know, you mentioned by new book "unwoke, how to defeat cultural marxism in america. it just came out this past week. it's already soared up the best seller list. it explains how the radical left seized control of the major substitutions of our nation. seized control of universities lawyer blawr are we going to do next, senator? people watching us okay you are brilliant incredible writer and thinker. trump wants to deport hundreds of thousands, millions of people, is that -- you can't key port people europe is starting to deport people. sweden is deporting people. >> that's the only way to fix this problem. this was caused by one central decision. joe biden came in. he inherited the low rest rate of illegal immigration in 45 years. he came in and immediately reinstated catch and release. and so when they apprehend people, they let them go. we asked the group that we saw three weeks ago. how many of you think you get to stay here. every one of them raised their hands. as long as you have catch and release, this problem can't be fixed. how do you solve it? you solve it when you catch them, you put them on a plane and fly them open. home. that's how you solve this problem. until we change that it won't be solved. >> laura: do you like trump's plan. >> i lining the job trump did when he was president. i worked hand in hand with him for four years when he was president. in particular, what really made a difference was the remain in mexico agreement, which trump negotiated with mexico when someone crosses they remain in mexico. that's what worked. that's what caused the numbers to plummet. >> laura: senator, congratulations on your book. i can't read wait to read more of it. thank you so much for joining us. go out and get it? >> thank you. >> laura: calls for joe biden to drop out getting louder and the media are growing more desperate as a result. i'm going to explain it, next. ♪ and the functioning of the white house. 2024 will be an extraordinary election, and it demands extraordinary measures. that is in part for reasons biden refuses to accept. his capacity to do the job. the oldest president in history, when he first took the oath, biden will not be able to govern and campaign in the manner of previous incumbents. he simply does not have the capacity to do it and his staff doesn't trust him to even try. okay. took my breath away when i first read this. the two big points here, first. he simply does not have the capacity to do the job. remember, jonathan martin's sources are phenomenal. and, second, his staff doesn't even trust him to try. gee, where have we heard all of this before? >> americans won't be voting for a man who can articulate a serious policy agenda, let alone defend it. they've will be voting for the party machine's geriatric puppet. >> he is just a hallow imram for the real power base. >> the country and the party is stuck with someone who literally everyone knows is a figure head president. >> of course, when the angle documented biden's mental and physical deterioration, and the implications for our country we discussed, we were slammed and the story just basically brushed off. >> does the president have the stamina, physically to continue on even after 2024. >> you are asking me this question? oh my gosh. he is the president of the united states. you know, he -- i can't even keep up with him. >> laura: she is laughing to that answer. now, that spin was lapped up by the media pales for biden and like politico playing defense and offense for him since 2020, by the way. but now things are so bad they know that truly desperate measures will be needed. hence, i don't know than martin's idea of bring -- jonathan martin standups. biden can't function. more americans are recognizing this by the day. this admission shouldn't just be a major story in politico it. should be the top 10 stories in every media outlet. and the white house, by the way, should be asked about this story in jonathan martin should be pressed on his sourcing. who are these staffers who don't trust the president's abilities? and who exactly is making the decisions if he cannot? and explain, mr. martin, more about how president biden doesn't have the capacity to do the job? what does he have the capacity to do except maybe ceremonial events which by the way he still can't get right. political analyst nate silver left of center has always been against replacing biden on the ticket. after reading the politico piece he wrote this: if this is athe consensus view it could be extremely foolish to nominate an 80-year-old man who is not up to the riggers of a modern presidential campaign. yet, with all this deep unease about biden's abilities swirling around, we're sending him to meet with president xi? where is he going to approve of decisions i guess have far reaching impact on all of america down the road. so if his own staff doesn't trust him to do regular campaigning or do a solo extended press conference, why is he even meeting with the president of china? our chief adversary? what if xi at the last minute says to everyone i just want to meet with the president biden had and myself one-on-one? will the white house agree to that? will they trust president biden to do such a meeting? should they? joining us now is someone who sat in negotiating rooms with president trump and president xi and his top advisers, former u.s. trade representative bob lighthizer. bob, great to see you. how vulnerable could merck be given biden's diminished capacity given what's at stake here at these meetings? >> you raise a good issue. i don't know anything about his capacity. certainly when you watch him on television you are not inspired. to me what is far more important is that this administration has a appeasement policy toward china. i'm far more worried about the substance than whether or not he can do the job. china is more aggressive than they have been in decades. and they are a real threat to this country and unfortunately this administration and this president do not understand that. their policy is not in the national interest, from a national security point of view, certainly not from an economic point of view. so this are going to accomplish in this meeting talk to him about fentanyl. all the fentanyl in the united states comes through mexico from china. they are going to talk about ukraine. the ukraine war is being funded by china. they are going to talk about the middle east. they say they are going to convince -- they are going to try to combines xi jinping that instability in the middle east is not in china's interest. well, of course it's in their interest. that's why they are paying for it. that's why they're bank rolling it. >> laura: bob, hold on. hold on. i agree with you about everything you just said. but you know you are not a doctor you haven't examined biden. you have got to be sharp with these people. they are sharp. they were up across the table from blinken in alaska and they, you know, they chewed him up and spit him out. you know, back two years ago and now it's with biden? i mean, the substance is horrific. but biden can't master the details of the names of his own cabinet, bob. so we have a double problem. the substantive issue and the fact that we have a president who does not have as politico said the capacity to do the things that a normal president would be doing. that is a problem for america right now. in addition to all the other problems i have very weak policy. both the capacity problem and the policy itself project weakness. china is an adversary. they are a grave threat to the country. their whole argument is that we're in decline. and what you saw in san francisco, that suggests we are in decline. what you showed in d.c., that suggests we are in decline if you go across the board playing into their argument. another argument, laura, the internal contradiction. they are going to the asian countries all going to be there and say come to the united states. be with us. don't be with china. and then at the same time their hole policy is to buddy up with china? it's a scary time it. really is. >> laura: biden will agree to dropping trump's tariffs either gradually or at a date certain with some type of promise from xi about climate change? yes or no? i don't think he will do it at this meeting do you think he will do it if reelected i think close to 100 percent. only thing keeping those tariffs in place is the fear of donald trump. that's what i think. >> laura: and china is going to be working hard to make sure biden is reelected, i think. ambassador, thank you so much. great to see you. and, from the media to the courthouse, donald trump's opponents spent their day revealing their hypocrisy. tulsi gabbard is on it. she explains, next. ♪ >> we will root out the communist, fascist and radical left thugs that live like vermin within the condition fines of our country. >> laura: now that one comment by trump over the weekend sent the media into complete meltdown. this isn't the first time caught rhetoric of nazis. >> hitler would stop. trump is turning up the volume. >> now we are going full on hitler t
