debate. >> thank you. >> lawrence: thank you. second hour of "fox & friends" starts right now. >> brian: we begin second hour "fox & friends" with war in israel hamas says taken out three commands in overnight strikes. excellent. >> ainsley: forces show footage of bloody attack being hauled off in the al shifa hospital after discovering hamas tunnel under the complex. >> steve: senior adviser to israeli prime minister benjamin and joins you now. mark, good morning to you showing bloody victims idf saying those are hostages. after they were treated they were probably carted off some place. how do you know they were hostages? >> first of all, it's clear. identified people were taken in the horrendous and horrific attack of october 7th some 1200 people were murdered on that day and they took back some 240 hostages going through all the cameras that are at the hospital we found these pictures, i'm sure we will find more. we found documented evidence that those hostages were taken to the hospital in prison. evidence of a young zarl female soldier who was murdered there by hamas after being taken hostage time the whole world admit hamas has been are targeting the people of gaza. using the people as a shield for military machine. all those in the international community, those in the u.n. and other organizations saying for weeks no evidence only israeli claims, yes? now it's time they admitted hamas was committed a war crime. >> how do you counter that right now it's true and you guys have laid out the evidence there, from the international community standpoint and i think it's important to note that they have never stood with israel. the u.n. has never stood with israel how do you counter that message it appears right now you guys are losing. >> we are showing the proof. that's how we are countering the lies. we have got pictures of the hostages inside the hospital not receiving medical treatment once again but just being held there. we are sure that there are others and we will find pictures of that, too i believe. we got pictures of the tunnels. we have picture of this going down, deep underground leading to tunnels hamas has there. >> brian: mark, have you shown us video we have video of a metal spiral staircase going down then you see the concrete walls and get to a steel wall. you guys believe it's booby-trapped. do you have a plan to open up that door? >> we have plan to go into all the tunnels. those pictures were taken by a drone. we didn't want to send our own people down concerned about booby traps and so forth. we have concerns out there. at the same time we want to safeguard our young fighting men and women. make sure they are not unnecessarily put harm's way. we will get there and we will hopefully have a situation where we can have actually international media. including fox down there in the tunnels taking your own pictures. >> ainsley: john finer is suggesting there is a deal we are close to getting those hostages back home. listen to what he said yesterday. >> mr. president, when will more hostages get out? when will more hostages get out? >> i believe we ever closer than we have been in some time. maybe closer than we have been in the beginning of this process to getting this deal done. >> ainsley: so tell us more about this deal. >> so, if we are closer -- and i hope we are, but i'm not sure we are. if we are closer, it's because of the military pressure on hamas. we have been hitting the military machine hard. we have been taking out senior commanders and continuing to do so. now, israel has said hard needs that time out they need that time-out. as a result we believe the probability they will agree to a release of our people has gone up, once again it's not done until it's done. i can't tell you it's going to happen. it depends on hamas. they are a brutal terrorist organization. and it's difficult to understand how they calculate the situation. >> ainsley: do they have to release all the hostages or i was reading in an article the women and the children? >> if they want us to give a temporary cease-fire, they have to do something significant two israeli women. young snorld special force was actually rescued. that's five people out of 240. it's a crop in the bucket has to be a significant release of hostages. that's what we are after. we want them all released but we want a significant release upfront. steve you have those 200 and some hostages taken on october the 7th. but now you have got in red sea israeli linked cargo ship and houthi rebels who are part of, you know, essentially iranian proxies they grabbed 25 more hostages where are they going to go. >> they are in y yemen somewher, i presume. let's be clear here, this is just another manifestation of what we call iran's axis of terror because the center center is from iran and tentacles to this octopus. hezbollah is another in lebanon and, of course, the houthis in yemen. and if these people break international law, yes. and they act as pirates on the high searks yes? and take over legally bound voyage, that is just a sign of who we are up against. these people have no qualms about equips shipping on the high seas. no qualms about using helicopters as military installations no qualms about shooting rockets into civilian areas trying to kill as many innocent civilians as they can. this is our enemy. >> lawrence: do you need more from the u.s.? i get it hard to criticize the united states because you need more support from us. you don't want to cloud the relationship. but you guys are being attacked from all fronts here and iran is an enemy to america as well. do you need our guys as support as well on the ground? >> american people have shown amazing support for israel during this crisis. you are our best friend. we have no better friend on this planet. and we appreciate and we wanted to say thank you for that support. america has been there for us whether it's in the moral support, in the strong words coming out of the administration, the congress, whether it's the tangible support in helping us, giving us the arms we need. ultimately, we are not asking for anyone's boots on the ground in gaza except our own. to quote churchill, you are giving us the tools to finish the job and that is greatly, greatly appreciated. >> brian: houthi rebels are a huge problem. they keep sending rockets over. the saudis know it. the saudis were ignored. this administration has taken the houthi rebels off the terror list. that's a huge mistake. and now they are starting to hijack ships that are coming through because some billionaire israeli might own this one ship. but the japanese run it. so, houthi rebels have to be addressed by somebody. that could be us. that should be us. >> steve: mark, thank you very much for joining us today. good luck. >> my pleasure. good morning. >> steve: good morning to you, good afternoon. meanwhile all day. >> lawrence: so today is president biden's 81st birthday. and his age could be a concern for voters as he is slipping in the polls. >> brian: i have not heard. this peter doocy joins us with the details. peter? >> peter: in the two weeks since i asked president biden why he is trail trump in all these battleground state polls and president biden told me i was reading the polls wrong, the polls have continued trending away from him. just look at this one. an msnbc hypothetical head-to-head with trump and biden has biden down by two. then you look at the presidential preference among voters aged 18 to 34, trump is leading biden 46-42. and then biden's job approval among independents down at just 30%. the disapproval number 63% in that nbc poll. we know that a variety of polls' cited president biden's age problem for. they a problem just got worst. today is his 81st birthday. the year he was born world war ii was happening. casa blanca was premiering. the average price of a home $3,770. that's it. the average price of a gallon of gas 20 cents. it's also the same year white christmas by bing crosby debuted. the former obama election guru david axelrod has been warning president biden's age is a legitimate problem for democrats for months. and now president biden is reportedly referring to axelrod, a man who helped get him elected vice president as an explicative. so the axelrod response in the "new york times," i don't care about them thinking i am an explicative, that's fine. i hope they don't think the polls are wrong because they're not. and as somebody who has been called an explicative by this president, not the end of the world. back to you. >> steve: famously the president called you a name that made your mother very angry. it was brilliant putting together what happened the year that joe biden was born because that was a long time ago. >> ainsley: gas for 20 cents? >> peter: especially now, young voters who hear him talk about the good old days are the one those are struggling to buy a house because things are expensive. >> ainsley: or struggling to put gas in our cars. >> brian: then we got colored television. >> peter: so there are a number of write-ups today where it's talking about how president biden talks so much about things that young voters basically people who are not in their 80's, have a hard time connecting with. and that -- that would be a big part of the reason why. >> steve: are they going to wheel out a big cage? is everybody going to sing to him today? >> brian: and pardon the turkey. >> peter: he has to pardon the turkeys and hitting the road for a week in nantucket. >> brian: he needs to relax. >> ainsley: five boxes of candles. >> brian: the "wall street journal" says given biden's age and obvious decline running for re-election is an act of profound selfishness. >> steve: that's why his family this weekend should say, you know, uncle joe, time to go. >> brian: you are suggesting an intervention. >> steve: here's the problem with the biden family. they love being the first family. >> brian: they are good at interventions i imagine. probably tried that quite a few times with other members. >> steve: people love being friends with the president. unfortunately you look at him is he really the best we have got? >> brian: don't worry, kamala is there in case of emergency. >> lawrence: barack obama telling him 2016 joe you don't have to do this. >> steve: he picked hillary. >> ainsley: there is a bubble wrap strategy to make sure he doesn't fall. >> brian: that's good one fall he is out. >> steve: he will look like the michelin man. >> brian: what a great invention bubble wrap was. otherwise we would be stuck with little styrofoam things. thank goodness scientist. >> steve: invented by a guy in new jersey. >> ainsley: well, his uncle invented camouflage. >> brian: we are pursuing that. >> ainsley: young hero, 6-year-old saving her grandmother after this moment. >> i didn't know what is happening to my grandmother. i'm scared. >> ainsley: the unbelievable story, next. >> steve: first, a disturbing study. a third of young people get their news from tiktok as influencers went viral last week for defending usama bin laden. the generational divide, we're going to talk about that coming up next on "fox & friends." ♪ i will wait for you ♪ ♪ new emergen-c crystals pop and fizz when you throw them back. and who doesn't love a good throwback? >> good job, buddy. >> carley: that boy says he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up. his parents and grand that must be so proud of him, lawrence. i'm sure he will be a firefighter one day. >> lawrence: what an absolute boss. early b. >> carley: early boss. >> lawrence: we got to get him on "fox & friends." a third of people under the age of 30 now regularly scroll through tiktok for news. last week we saw bin laden's letter to america go viral on the platform. >> they have brainwashed us to think we were the best country on the planet. >> you are disgusted by terror and bigotry and violence you should be disgusted by the terror and bigotry and violence of the united states government. >> tiktok is going to save this generation, the amount of things we have learned on this app. in the past month alone that other people in other generations i tried to talk to them about it they don't understand. >> how concerned should would he be about the app.'s appeal to gen z and beyond? let's bring in dr. lisa palmer, a psycho therapist and karl sabo internet law on george mason university. doctor, i just finished a book signing and it it was like the number one question from parents and grandparents. what is going on here? >> well, there is a lot going on. i mean, technology has a lot of power and a lot of people are turning to tiktok. i can't even tell you how many people have told me that tiktok has even become their therapy. they are getting advice from tiktok so we cannot deny the power of technology. and we have to be able to have corporate consciousness and our own consciousness and really be careful what we are watching and when we are listening to and take care of our own mental diet. >> lawrence: so, karl, when you look at the numbers, 20% of users in 2020 got their news from tiktok. now we got 23% of users in 2023. so obviously there is a massive jump there. where is that coming from? >> look, we don't have a tech problem we have a societal problem. fake news is nothing new. you have fake news israel bombed a hospital. the front page of the "new york times" repeating it. now people are looking for other avenues of information. and the internet is there but the answer is that we, as parents, we as americans, need to begin looking, teaching, and learn. we need to look at what our kids are doing. we need to teach them about the truths of history. and we need to learn better ways to educate ourselves than just looking at social media or even looking at what we're seeing on the front page of the "new york times." so it's up to us, as americans. >> to take control of our destiny. >> lawrence: karl, you are so right. dr. palmer, the question is, is it too late? >> i think technology is here to say. people go to beds with their phones, wake up with their phones. technology has real problem. apps have huge power. again, going back to what the professor has said, you know, we do have to take responsibility for our mental diet and like i said before live more consciously. you know how the apps, the material you are watch something affecting you by how you are living your life, you know, are you feeling more balanced? are you feeling more positive? are you feeling more healthy? and if the answer is no, and you realize hey, i'm using a lot of technology, maybe that's one of the problems and i really need to set boundaries with that. >> lawrence: you know, karl, i'm curious, you are in academia, is the using of tiktok encouraged on the university level, too? >> i mean, look, as professor, i would be remiss if i told my students not to use the internet. that would just be absurd. but, i would also be remiss if my students believed everything they learned on the internet and adopted these decisions. so, at the end of the day, what we need to do is we need to teach people that the monsters of history are monsters. whether it's hitler, whether it's mao, or whether it is usama bin laden. communism doesn't work. that's what we professors need to do on campuses. at the same time, we don't want to ban technology. we don't want to ban speech, because ban is something we see in authoritarian regimes. instead we need to educate people. we need to empower them and make them crystal clear that even if they weren't alive when it happened. >> lawrence: work to change this generation's mind. a lot of optimism as well. thank you for joining the program. >> thank you for having me on the show. >> thank you. >> lawrence: a fox news alert. historic night in argentina and the world as the south american nation elects the first libertarian president. a live report, next. first, big developments in the presidential race here at home. former president trump picks up another major endorsement while desantis and haley pick up some new backers. our voter panel reacts next. ♪ hi, i'm stacey, and i've lost 60 pounds on golo.
