fully implemented work to extend the deal as well. for weeks i've been advocating for a pause in the fighting for two purposes. to increase the assistance who need help to facilitate release of hostages. we know that innocent children and gaza are suffering greatly as well because this war that hamas has released has consequences. thousands have been killed from the earliest days of this crisis i have worked close to the president of egypt, king abdul of jordan and leaders to expand the manager and assistant to help innocent palestinians in need. were not part of hamas. what are the still fighting in gaza it's been pause for three days. over that time 58 hostages have been released including a tie, a filipino and a russian nationalist. dozens of families have been reunited. we worked urgently, urgently to take advantage of the pause. two surge a's aid into gaza. we moved approximate 200 aid trucks into gaza each day. with the food, water, medicine, fuel, and cooking gas. more is needed. isees life saving results. and hostages are coming out. they're still structured so that can be extended to keep building on these results. that is my goal, that is our goal to keep the pause going beyond tomorrow so we can continue to see more hostages come out and search more humanitarian relief and to those in gaza. we see this as a date by day approach hour by hour approached raid nothing is guaranteed and nothing is been taken for granted. the proof that this is working and worth pursuing further is in every smile, every grateful tear we see on the faces of those families who are finally getting back together again. the proof is little abigail. more than 20 other children 18 years and younger have been released they were released through this deal as well print they have endured a terrible ordeal they can now begin a long journey toward a great healing. going to continue working with the mayor of qatar, the president of egypt and prime minister netanyahu to do everything possible to seat the hostages are freed, all of them. i am grateful for the personal partnership because we reviewed this deal from each of those we mention. as we work together you see all of this implemented and now to try to extend it further. i will continue work with all of our partners to take the hard but necessary steps to build an integrated and more prosperous and peaceful future in the region. a two state solution is the only way to guarantee long-term security of israelis and palestinian people. to make sure it is israel and palestinian live in freedom and dignity but will not give up on working toward that goal. i thank you very much. thank god she is home. i just cannot imagine the enjoyment. i wish i were there to hold her. reporter: president you have an update on the other presidents in a sense of when they will be released? >> we are hopeful. but i do not have anything firmly to tell you at this moment. reporter: do you expect the use this momentum to extend the pause? have you extracted any guarantees of proof of life or other hostages? do you have an expectation on how much longer you can push this posit? >> you know the deal calls for every 10 hostage release to extend another day. i am hopeful this is not the end, that it is going to continue. but we do not know. but i get a sense that all of the players in that region, even the neighbors who have not been directly involved for now, are looking for a way to end this so the hostages are all released and hamas is completely, how can i say it, no longer in control of any portion of gaza. >> do they have control of all of the hostages are there other militant groups you have to deal with? >> we think there probably other militant groups but we are not certain. cracks rate mr. president, mr. president, how is abigail doing que? what is your physical condition? >> have not gotten that information but i wanted to let you know they're going to cross into egypt as you will recall. but in older non- american elderly woman was very sick and was in need of immediate medical help. so they crossed directly into israel to take her to hospital. all i know is she has been held. i don't know i have not seen a photograph. i've just been in communication with my team. but she is safely ensconced in israel but there's a lot more work to be done. reporter: [inaudible] >> i would like to see less move to a point where we were able t. i like to see the pause and go on as long as prisoners keep coming out. all right, thank you also very much. we have to call you -- mick heine say what's he's calling me with only 10 minutes or so. [laughter] that's about the notice i get. i did not want to be having this press conference if they were not physically, even when they're in the red cross ambience i did not want to do it they were not out. they were still in gaza. i don't thank you enough but thanks for your patience. reporterreporter: we are here ae mr. president. [laughter] >> thank you happy holidays to you guys are. >> appear. >> thank you, mr. president. if i that's proven president biden send proof this is working. little abigail four years old among the 17 hostages released just about an hour ago. the president said we will work to extend the pause, a big no to their pretty will not stop working until all hostages are free. the president saying he will speak again today with prime minister netanyahu and of qatar. this is a little israeli american girl among the 17 hostages released about an hour ago as a temporary cease-fire in gaza winters day three. the idf says 14 israelis and three others from thailand were transferred to the red cross. again including 4-year-old abigail as her parents horrifically were murdered and the hamas terror attacks of october 7. and she witnessed the horrible crime but hello everyone welcome to fox news like i am arthel neville. jonathan: and i am jonathan hunt in for eric shawn. the israeli military say those israeli hostages are now back in israeli territory. four of the others released on their way to the rafah crossing along egypt and gaza. it is interesting to note the president was very keen to point out he and u.s. officials have been heavily involved and not only getting this deal continuing over the last three days. but also he is working along with the secretary of state antony blinken and others in the administration to get this deal extended. and as he put it to get the hostages out to get more aid into the palestinian 2.3 million of them in gaza who desperately need it. the idf say 200 trucks impact with humanitarian aid and medical supplies i've entered the gaza strip. at least 20 200 and day have ben going in he clearly wants to continue that to get aid. he also said interestingly the u.s. will continue to work toward a two state solution in which he said both israelis and palestinians will be able to live in freedom and dignity. jamil jaffa from the national nationalsecurity institute is hy with reaction. arthel: look for to that from jamel we have other fox team coverage for you. lucas tomlinson with more from the president's comments that we just heard. but first, alex hogan live in jerusalem with the breaking developments from that perspective. alex? >> high art that we just received official confirmation this a 4-year-old little israeli american girl avigail idan is officially free. she's back here on israeli soil. released today 13 other israeli hostages three type foreign workers. three sets of families were released today when in their 60s, one in their 80s and for the first time a 25-year-old hostage who is a dual israelite russian citizen. hamas said this was a gesture to russia on its position of the war. because of all of this tonight, again the celebrations are breaking out across the country. welcome these hostages home. days of watch parties people who were strangers weeks ago have banded together standing in solidarity as one britain israeli civilians are celebrating this. we are also hearing from officials who say securing this deal really came at a cost. >> we signed a deal with the devil we are aware of that. we had no choice that is why every time we take it day by d day, hour by hour and we look to see a third group coming in tonight. >> what we are learning today there is another american that has been released. all of this in exchange for the 39 palestinian prisoners that we have seen a release day after day paid what we are expecting based on the numbers that have been released so far tomorrow is the last day of the four date cease-fire but we expect to see 11 israel is released as part of this. we just heard u.s. president joe biden speak or he said he hopes his cease-fire is extended. something that could happen if hamas continues to release at least 10 more hostages every day. arthel: absolutely pray the president says he is intimately involved in trying to work on that extension. alex hogan, live in jerusalem. thank you alex. jonathan: for the latest on the white house reaction to the news, the 4-year-old israeli american girl avigail idan is among the third group of hostages freed by hamas today let's go to lucas tomlinson live livewith president biden and nantucket massachusetts. >> president biden reporting good news the 4-year-old little girl avigail idan has been freed and she has been reunited with their family the president was very clear and very graphic terms off the top talking about what she endured on october 7. her mother gunned down in front of her. the father than it picking her up shielding her from the hamas a terrorist and he himself was killed but one can only imagine what little avigail idan went through over the past 50 days. most likely not seen the sunlight over the past 50 days as she was held inside those tunnels. president biden say he is working hard with his qatar israeli and egyptian partners to secure the release of more american hostages for the rest of some 200 more hostages that are still inside those caves and tunnels deep inside gaza. president biden making those remarks here and nantucket. he will be proceeding to the airport he will be flying back to washington later today. he says he has been in close contact with the leaders of qatar, egypt, and israel but we heard from jake sullivan earlier he will be speaking with his israeli counterpart. prime minister qatar later. he also mentioned he wants to see the four-day truce extended to get more hostages out for it soon they'll be a part of the phone call with the prime minister. the president also talking about the 20 other children that have been released and why he wants to continue working with all partners in the region for a two state solution. when he faced questions from reporters after his remarks he was asked about the other americans pretty member there five to eight other americans it still remained in captivity nail it to a been freed the president said he is hopeful but he has quote nothing firm to tell you. and then what was interesting at the very end he was talking about hamas buried the president paused and chose his words very carefully. he said his hamas is not a control of gaza he stopped short of using the same language waiver from the israeli government they went to see hamas complete the eradicated and killed. jonathan: interesting choice of words eradication is obviously different than it not in control but lucas very briefly on this e phone because honestly got coming up with a prime minister netanyahu very much sounds like the president is going to push for this pause going on longer print to get more hostages out. prime minister jon what is going to be concerned everyday apostate gives more time to reorganize itself going to be an interesting phone call. there's no question about that person by what to see this continued many israeli citizens people around the world want to see this continue. they continued released up hostages date by day to keep the truce going. that's very different goals they want to see the hostage release of course. they want to see hamas eradicated. leaders killed but we learned days ago prime minister dispatch the cia overseas by mr. netanyahu is in a position because the pressure will be great from the united states and of course the president biden yields tremendous influence over the region. u.s. government has been supplying israel not only with weapons but a lot of cash. the big question is w will that aid be conditioned? that is what we will be seeing after the president's phone call. jonathan: really interesting phone call coming up. lucas thomason thank you, arthel? arthel: more on this now with jim milt jaffer found executive director of the national security institute. so things seem to be going according to plan today. i want to know what that tells you. and also parsing out the words from the president here. it's intimately involved on a two state solution. in the wake of the war what is that all say to you? ask a huge sigh of relief obviously coming at a huge cost because of the numbers being traded in the price coming up on a month and a half. good news in the sense they are back in the area. president biden the white house working closely with connor and the government there in the region hamas and the israeli government to try to pick figure out a path forward. some slow progress but progress nonetheless. >> part of the path forward the immediate path forward is extending this four-day truce prime minister netanyahu has vowed to retaliate continue to retaliate against hamas. he's eager to resume the fighting. do you think president biden can convince them prime minister to continue to extend this truce to get the hostages released? lexus is one of the challenges. prime minister netanyahu looking to take out hamas destroyed the leadership structure and remove the capability to conduct another attack like this. at the same time he wants a hostages out as well but he knows he has to do something of a deal to get hostages out and so a pause in the fighting continues to be exchange probably makes sense he also knows that as this in place hamas will be building up its capability and once again looking to push back against israel. that is a real challenge in trying to get the hostages out while prosecuting what was very clearly the right thing to do. take the terrace to conduct the attack out. >> a terrorist see the hostages as currency. american hostages hold more valuable you got three american citizens, free two dates thankfully but we know for sure little avigail idan one of them. how soon would you expect the other eight or so hostages to be released? they see the policy and people as currency as well. they know forever policy and woman or child killed from the israeli response of harms israel benefits hamas. that's why they're using human shields. the realized putting pressure on israel. hamas is a gated clear effort not to kill civilians but kill their own civilians and have them pay the price for the bad acts. arthel: and to kill their own civilians which is the message a lot of the protesters are not getting. meanwhile though did you tell me you believe there will be an extension to this truce? >> i am hopeful there is an extension in the sense that woman hostages are continue to be released by hamas into israeli custody into the hands of the u.s. ideally more americans as well and other international hostages. but at the end of the date we've got to get all of us hostages out and that israel's got to will take out hamas as part of the dealer's note sees fard were hamas gives up its capability. >> meanwhile on deck has below the terrace and 11 on the rebels in yemen and iran calling the plays while unveiling a hypersonic missile dubbed. tehran claims a missile can fly 15 times faster than the speed of light. and it can defeat israel's iron dome defenses. first about is iran bluffing and who can stop from how did they do it? >> one of the challenges of iran they've not been deterred by american action but we have seen nearly six it doesn't attacks in the region in iraq and syria. with fuel depots and weapons depots we need to take out senior iranian leadership the same way president trump did with the soleimani. the only way iran is going to learn the lesson of not allowing the rebels to attack the americans not on groups is going to be a direct response against iran for they have not been made to pay the price. it is important to extract a price before iran otherwise will conceal continued attacks on americans and our allies in israel. arthel: doesn't president biden had the will to take off the leadership you are saying needs to be taken out? >> we have not seen it yet but we have seen a response to lease for american attacks a i get supplies and capabilities there. but they are running some care about the proxies that's why they put them out there to attack americans we need to responding as iran directly for the challenges the bite administration thanks wrongly until theron until a solution that's not something around us willing to do are capable of doing when to punch back in hard. arthel: we will watch and see what happens. jamel jaffer it's good to see you and have your expertise but you are at the national security institute thank you. stay for a live look at the rafah river crossing where we are awaiting any sort of movement after hamas released 14 is really in clinic and is really american and three thai nationals will have the very latest on the movement of those hostages coming up next. only at vanguard, you're more than just an investor, you're an owner. 17 more hostages today including the first american boy rolled avigail idan she holds dual israeli and american citizenship and she saw her parents murdered in front of her and the terror attacks of october 7. she and 16 other hostages are now free after they were transferred to the red cross about 19 minutes ago. now since friday hamas has released a 58 people. most of them at women and children for the four-day gaza cease-fire to allow for the handovers still holding on day three. let's bring in our retired u.s. army colonel joe eight former spokesman for u.s. central command. colonel, great
