has resumed in full force. and there's no word from mediator qatar that another extension might still be possible. it's a major setback in an eight week global effort to stop the violence in the middle east, a brutal conflict that has already cost thousands of lives and left many more homeless. the cease fire ended two hours ago despite frantic last minute efforts by an international team of negotiators to extend the peace by at least two more days. us secretary of state antony blinken also met thursday with israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu, who and other top officials on his third visit to the region since the start of the war. two months ago, blinken expressed hope for another truce, but he reminded netanyahu that should israel resume its attacks on hamas, it must comply with international humanitarian laws . global support for israel has been waning in view of the suffering palestinian civilians there enduring. shortly after the truce ended, israel's military reignited its attacks on the gaza strip, accusing hamas militants of violating the deal. loud continuous explosions were heard as black smoke billowed from the territory in israel, sirens, sirens, they blared three communal farms near gaza warning of incoming rocket fire and suggesting hamas had also resumed its attacks. the cease fire began a week ago. it initially lasted four days and then was extended for several days with the help of qatar and fellow mediator egypt. during that time, hamas and other militants in gaza released more than 100 hostages, most of them israeli, is in return for 240 palestinian detained in israel. virtually all of those freed were women and children, reaching new swap agreements will likely become harder as most women and children held in gaza have already been released. some 140 hostages remain in gaza. their fate now in limbo, recapping, hoping for peace in the middle east dims as the temporary truce in the israel-hamas war has expired and there's no immediate word of another extension on israel's military has since resumed its attacks on gaza. i'm jackie ibanez. of course, stay with fox news for the latest from the middle east. we are now taking youm the middlei east. we are now taking you to our regular programming already in progresnght nos. >> and potentially right now, if biden stepst down or maybe in 2028. take a listen. yes, it's a danger to the gov country. he has no business running for president. ernor desanto and, you know, gavin newsom agrees with that. he won't say that, but that's why he's running his shados why campaign. he should not be running. he is nobe rt up to the job. >> there's one thing in closing th g in common is neither of us will be the nominee for our party in. >> 2024 and trace, that was one of the themes of the debate tonight. e debategovernor newsom frequent after governor desantis for afteg numbers in the 2024 gop primary, saying, you're so far behind donalsayingd trump,iu you're losing in polling in your own state. you should just drop outr ate.. well, governor desantis countered by hitting governor newsom hard on homeles desanti s ness and the way california is right now. and he had a moment at the end of the debate where he held up a map of san francisco that had all thes mapfrancisce or brown a and said, you might be wondering what these pixelsna are. this is a map of human all over the once great city of san francisco. and gavin, you didn't clean it up untiles chinese president xi jinping showed up. that was the waychinese jinpind the debate. but it was very entertaining. it was very testy, and it wasitw a great thing for the american people to get to see because it was a national audiencase get to e d a national discussion. two rising stars in their respective political parties, two of the highest profile governors in the united states. we'll send i in the ut back to,o you, you trace. >> it was something to be seen. bill milligan live for us in georgia. bill, thanace. k you.s let's bring in criminal defense attorney and federal litigator vik bajaj. chal lfox news contributor jason chaffetz, and the author of politics for people whoaf hae politics, denise jetsam. great to have all of you oen to kind of give us this. i just want to go down and giver you each 30 seconds to give me your thoughts on this. jason chaffetz, beginning with you thoughts on thi, your t on the debate tonight. >> it was wonderful. i give a lot of credit to gavin newsom for showing up on fox news and having a debate. we need more of that in this country, not neethat less. i thought gavin newsom dodged a lot of questions. y. oughi thought he was asked very direct questions by sean hannity and attacked by or on desantis. and he skirted those issues ab abortion, on on other types of issues. he did, too. i thought ron desantisortion, d presidential. he wasn't nervous. he took the fight right at the beginninnervoug. >> gavin newsom.he and i think he'll he'll do well in the polls because of it. >> yeah. i mean, this was it really was it was entertaining, denise. and it had some it had some high moments that you're going to hear over the next couple of weeke going going tos >> it most certainly did.. and, you know, for those of us who love politics, thi for tho f wonderful right, it was fun. it was feisty. it was everything. we lovun was love.e. s -- but for those who hate politics, which is who i wrote my book for, there's probably fueled the discontent, di,ch oth with two sides two people talking past each other, feeling more like a schoolyard brawl thaer more nn ideological comparison. and i really think tonight, desantisl compar needed to make. a big win. the momentum right now in the thmentum ry is all with nikki hy in the conversation. and what you're seeing after the debatey the ds and i'm not d that desantis landed his points as well as he coul h weld have, because basically he opened himself up to a whole new line of attack from democrats in addition to the republicans that are reallom democ y going after him by using nikki haley's and donald trump's points agains ing nikkt him. >> it was very effective, i thought, on newsom's part. although vic bajaj mean you live in california. so, you know, we have seen governor gavin newsom debate a lo knoyot. . and he really did try to avoid a lot of the things that he just quite couldn'f thet answer. >> that's right. and i think both of the candidates walk out of this debate thinkinalked oug won. they have trial psychosis. they know the verdict is coming r. it i their favo no doubt about that. and it's very clear that these are really opposedar to candidates. it's not as though there's a middle ground sometimes traced whe we haven. or peo >> we have a person or people or entities that disagree. we say di hey, let them just play in the sandbox and they'll work it out. but sometimes we don'ttimes we t to watch that. and i think it was unpresidential. both of the candidates, the wayo they attacked each other personally, but on the factsna and the substance, i think desantis did a masterful job. yeah a maste, i thought it was it w interesting. i want to kind of go to some of the sound bites nowto so we can analyze those. jay, this is sound bite number four. thisour. is the covered graphic, this back and forth about who handled covio handd better. >> watch this. how do you explain that facts per capita death rates what that is in the state of florida were 29%, 29% per capita higher, 29%, ten. governo not what the stats say right there. people. not what t thousands of people unnecessarily about. he put the graphic up there, >>e about it.ic >> and the truth is, denise,e. you know, the governor of california did that a lot. there were a lot of graphics. the facts were right there. the numbera loa lot ofe numbers. they cited who they were from. and you would have governor newsom say that's not true. >> well, i, too, am a californian and have actually from the bay area>>th happened to be in washington, d.c. tonight. and so i have lived under this regimed unde far too long.ar tol and we everyone of us who livesn in california knows you can't trust anything that comes out of gavin newsom's mouth. the problehat comeinm is, i donk that desantis responded by turning the attack on him and driving those points home as well as he could have. and i kept comparing what he said, desantis, how he would respond to newsom, so how nikki haley might respond. m tonikki hai kept thinking, yon me, this is a choice between a gop primary field. ery ti and i think that every time wosantis spoke, i was thinking ,is that how nikki haley or donald trump would have responded and making my decisions making based on th? >> so there's a lot more at stake than what they talked about. interesting. soa lot mostake. >> t is sound bite number five. it's lying about the border, 16 seconds. >> let's watch. the biden administration put out a comprehensive plan. day one when he got sworn into office three years ago and the republican party didn't touch it. they haven't moved on it. it's deja vu all ovet liver aga with that flurry of lies. this is a guy that says the biden administrationit is nt lying to the public about the border. >> they go to the whithe border.e house briefing room every day. >> they say the border secure. they are lying to you. >> he's right about that. they do say the borderrace: se avik bajaj and desantis didn't really have i mean, i'm sorry, newsom didn't really have an answer on that because, u can go, you can go afteran the guy, but there's really not an answer because you've got six and a half million illegaluo migrants who have crossed over the past two and a half, three years. >> absolutely. you know, sometimes in a jur.yhe trial, we were a purple tie. h sometimes when we have bad facts and maybs e should have done that, he had an answer, treys, but it was an answer that didn answerha address the . noe ould have done a much better jobquesti if he said, yow what? yes, those facts are there. those s are the criteriathat d that distinguish those facts. pot instead, isse he's calling the other side a liar, both can't be lying. and i think oncene people dowh their own research. >> they'll find out who the truth teller is. and heretruth te jason is. the attack on the covid lockdown associated with the french laundry debacle. >> watchwatc. he's imposed restrictions on his own people while exempting himself from those pe going to the french laundry while his people were suffering. s he led the country in schoolks closures, locking kids out outd of schoohil. he had his own kids in private n. atl, in-perso now he's very good at spinning these these tales. d at being slickhe w and slippery. hills. he'll tell a blizzard of lieilla s fa be able to try to mask the failures. >> yeah. i meanilures, jason, the truth , is that, you know, newsom really didn't tell any lieid nos about that because he was caught red handed. he was caught right in here. and i thought throughout the debate, ron desantis thoughs masterful in drawing out drawi. e topics he did it on multiple topics. and to draw it directlyn news to gavinom newsom about his own opulence and doing stuff that ingratiated his family as opposed to all the other familiesfamily a . desantis ron desantis was just spot on. people know that florida wasia the first state to open and california wasth of the las. and it's crystal clear. it is crystal clear the so ba education scores are so bad in california. he tried to get aroundcalifornis and they are they are much ew. better in florida. 20 seconds each. now, i got to go, denise. >> so who does this help? who does it hurt? i honestly think that is as good of an effort as desantis made tonight e. i think he fell short in the eyes of a gop as a gop and idential contender. i think that a lot of otherople people can think that he did well compare cand to one of the slippery politicians out there. but at the end of the day, he's theiticians the end one whr consideration as far as who the leader of the next free world will be. vik >> and i don't think he nailed it tonight. josh desantis did a great joajab beyond any shadow of a doubt. j newsom showed exactly whoby man. people don't like politicians answer the question and answer clearly. >> i questf you can't do that, you can't get the vote. i think i think it was just a monumentalk it was success foo desantis across the board and the former politiciassn in the group. >> jason chaffetz, your final thoughts? e grou cetz,i thought one of thg winners was sean hannity for thombility to get both of the to show up on stage. but i will tell you, i thought it was exponentiallyl off the charts great for ron desantis. i thought he was presidential. i think he's he will rise in the polls. and ink hie and histur demeanor was just spot on. >> and gavin newsom, tomorrowoo will some liberals and some some moderates, too, for the fact that he showed up on fox news and did it. you got to give him credit for >> tshowing up. i mean, he did do that. vic, denise, jason, thank all. >> meantime, journalist behind the twitter files testified before the house judiciaryth committee about the tech giant's alleged collusion with democrats in the deep state to silence conservatives. the senior nationalespond correspondent kevin corke is live in d.c. tonight with more on that. >> kevin, good eveningenvin cor evening. trace the journalist who helped expose the twitter filesgovenint about a year ago were back at it again on capitol hill today. this time a stark warningg about censorship in americ aa. the scope of power and lawbreakin g of censorship.en industrial complex are even worse than we had realized back in march. >> this isn't crazy conspiracy theory. we've had four federal judges rule that they believe this violates this activity, violates the first amendment. this is quite serious.s. >> that is true. now, while democrats slammedosed hearing as a political stunt, journalist matt taibbi and michael shellenbergen,r tols the committee that as there's actually a group out thereyber as the cyber threat threyligence league, they sa it actually partnered with government agencies likwite the fbi to censor u.s. citizens. according to whistleblowerons tt documents that included allegations that the group made up fake personas gro and even ud burner phones as a way to counter certain voices on social media. journalists also tangled with democratic lawmakers overne just how big tech handled the infamous hunter biden laptop story. >> are you suggesting? the new york post participated in a conspiracy to construct the contentsd panspiracy of thee biden laptop. no, sir. the problem is that hard drives can be manipulated problem i byy giuliani for russia. >> rudy giuliani known for manipulating hard drives, apparently. of course, that is contrarytestm to testimony from an fbi official who stated that the bureau knew, the hunter biden laptop was authentic,g wih along with belated admission from several mainstream media outlet r s. >> this is not new trace.e. not new. we knew it was real all along. kevin corke live in dc. kevin, thank you. meantimekevi, the bidenaccuse administration is accused of censoring your speech and collaboratind g with some youtube workers in social media suppressiosuppressn of whateverr they consider to be covid misinformation. tchristina coleman is livethat with that story tonight. >> christina, good evening. hi, good evening. trace yes. internal documents obtained by fox business show the vitaminaals obtain and employeem google. youtube's parent company worked together to stop what theyre considered misinformation related to covid vaccines and a virus itself. and one of the emails obtained by fox business, the biden administrations former director of digital strategy rob flaherty asked youtube about a post claiming their algorithm was promoting content in an email between youtube staff. one employee wrote there is a very high degree of interest coming from the white house nown regarding vaccine, misinformation and vaccineg vacc and our work around borderline content. unfortunately, the role of tech in addressing vaccine hesitancyn is about to come under a massive spotlight, particularlyr as the supplye is of the vaccine is soon set to outpace demand. , now, in a statement to fox news, youtube responded to ourde d to orereporting today by sayi, quote, while we receive inputhie from governments the world, we apply our policies independently transparentnsiste and consistently, regardless of the speakernt or the politicl views expressed. exsed.y sub the house judiciar select subcommittee on the weaponization of the federacotee on tl held a hearing to examine attacks on free expression and social media censorship as they were trying to censor information. it was scary where they went, where they want to go, where the left wants to take this. but three big things. . releasetyoutubed a repor that youtube was being pressured by the biden administration to take down contentg pr , just like they pressured twitter, just pres, hey pressured facebook all very concerning. now, the house judiciary, jim jordan subpoenaed flaherty to appear for a depositions part as part of the committee's investigation into social media censorship o . ch and it will go on. christina, thank you. while the fox news is not common sense, department has also read these internal emails between google, youtube and the yoe house. the emails are part of a pattern. ey areyhite friendly advisor from the white house aimed at controlling misinformation at ce. accin instead, the emails are aimed at controlling the biden narrativcontrolle about the vac. remember, this is the president who called covid the pandemic of the unvaccinated. the same president who said he the same po sas following the s. and now we know he wasn't following anything. he was leading americans down a faulty path. biden, fauci, pharma, even the cdc were all aware the vaccines could not preventtg you from getting covid and could not prevent fromvery spreading covid. each and every dose of the vaccine involved one person and one person only. but the whitone house pressure campaign had to make sure social media companies did notal push anti-vaxx content. that's the democratic definitiontent. of content — that portrays vaccines in a negative light. in other words, these emails are proof positive that when it comes to vaccines and covid, overall, different viewpoints were notewpoints welcome. there was no robust debate. there wa dictate. fthingson sense thinks i conformity is th oeenemy enemy of science, these emails are the enemy of free speech. let's bring in ph.d. research scientist dr. hooman hamadeh rao and seattle talk radio hos ht jason rantz. thank you both for coming on to you first. dr. hamade on.h mean, it really. you look at these, the emails are disturbing because the censorship disturb was plain and evident and trace that censorship actually caused people to make decisions that wrong. when you want to make an informed medical decision, you need. e an infmedica be armed with the actual information. and what they did is they suppressed notuppresse anyone wt said vaccines are bad, but anyone who questionene who s whether vaccines can control the spread like you talked sp you from, vent c contr you know, giving it to other people and propagating the virus. >> and as a result, people were were that werens based actually on real misinformation that was being pushed that wa by the government. >> when they did that, they were being forced these scenarios where they basically n fell under mandates. and because they were under those mandates, they made medical choice s under duress. and that's not really a choice. yeah, i mean, these are the same peopl. thee, jason rants, who who say, oh, this decisionwe is between somebody and theienr doctor and that was between somebody and their government. jonathan turley said thisid thi about t
