of fox & friends weekend, starting with this. trump taking his message into deep blue cities where few republican candidates ever venture. but it's a tale of two campaigns because while trump in detroit biden heads to a l.a. fundraiser with so-called a-list celebrit ies. rachel: plus kate middleton back in the spotty light. looking live alt london where the trooping the color is under way, and kate middleton is making her first public appearance since announcing her cancer diagnosis in march. todd: and from one sports great to another. we'll tell you what advice serena williams is offer ing to caitlyn clark as the woman's basketball star is facing pressure. the second hour of fox & friends weekend starts right now. ♪ ♪ pete: todd welcome to the game, called the skyline game. can you name the american city, charlotte, am i right? i'm going to go with it's not cleveland. no. i think there's older buildings. todd: do we have an answer? atlanta. i was only a couple hundred miles away. pete: that's not bad. it's not the whole skyline. it's only a portion of it right, rachel? rachel: yes. i know you love this game. i'm board with this game but i'm going to indulge you. yes, that was awesome. pete: i bet folks at home guess. todd: i did a little ready, shoot, aim on that one. i should of should have paused a little bit and reflected. it's like charlotte right off the bat. pete: no pausing. i want to affirm you in that effort. i would spend 20 minutes on it if i could but apparently this is a television show we're supposed to keep it moving. rachel: yeah, because we have news. pete: kate middleton is not news i'm going to say it for everybody out there. rachel: [laughter] pete: for everybody out there watching. todd: the producers, it's not. this is definitely a gender battle. this is like billy jean king versus bobby rigs all morning long. rachel: i did see the picture of kate middleton. pete: here we go. rachel: you probably don't know the reference because you don't care about hollywood but she looks like my fair lady in these images. she looks amazing. everyone is curious as to how she would look. she's going through chemo, and she looks fantastic. pete: i absolutely wish her the best and that's great, but that's it. rachel: all right pete: we'll be back to the trooping of the colors in a moment. but we're glad you're here. today, donald trump is heading to detroit where there will be, we're told, some big old boat parades in that area but he's going to a church roundtable in that deep blue city. it's a huge contrast with where joe biden will be. he left the g-7 a day early, skipping the peace conference on ukraine. rachel: we're okay. pete: no, we don't want to end that war. he's heading all the way to l.a. for a fundraiser while donald trump goes to detroit. well, he had his former president trump had his birthday party at mar-a-lago yesterday. it's a heck of a day. it's flag day. it's the army birthday, and it's donald trump's birthday on june 14. they celebrated it all including him and here is a portion of what he said yesterday in west palm beach. >> i gave you record tax cuts, record inflation, was knocked out. we had inflation like you've never had it and now we have more inflation than probably you know they like to say 52 and then 62 and then 75 years. i think it's the highest inflation we've ever had as a country. it's a country but we have regulation that nobody has ever cut regulations to the extent that i did. we had rising wages and we lifted up all americans, black, brown, white, and everything else. they were all lifted up, everybody had jobs. >> [applause] >> everybody was doing well. women, men, everybody was doing well, if you had a diploma, if you didn't have a diploma, if you graduated number one at m. i .t. if you didn't graduate at all. every single group was doing better than ever before. rachel: that was donald trump in palm beach, florida yesterday. he's going to deep blue detroit today and he's saying listen. times were really good when i was in office. he's going to go to detroit which reminds me a lot of where i used to live when donald trump was in office which is wausau which is a huge manufacturing area that actually in realtime saw manufacturing come back. jobs come back, sort of a revival of that area because so much manufacturing is there. one other thing i wanted to mention is it was so funny. what people like about him is he's so authentic so he was talking about milania critiquing his speeches, and he would go and say hey, wasn't that great, look at all of the people that were there. she's like i don't like your hair. did you put on weight? it's the kind of thing like people say he is funny, he's self-depricating, and that's a real moment because when you're a political spouse, you're just finding, your job is to keep your spouse real, and tell them the truth. like your hair was really bad! i remember seeing sean once on with, when he was in office with i think martha maccallum and he had grown out a beard, it was like november, and he just looked awful and i was like oh, my gosh! so anyway, he was getting the same kind of feedback from his wife, but he's on a roll, todd. todd: to that point though i'd be scared to see the conversation jill has with joe if that's the case. rachel: [laughter] pete: very different. but to this point -- rachel: like talking to a toddler. todd: if that. look, that was a great message for the people of mar-a-lago. he needs to lather, rinse, repeat that exact same message in detroit because let's be real he's going to win mar-a-lago. i feel extremely confident whereas detroit where he's going today he lost 94% to 5% in 2020. he's not going to win detroit. let's be real but if he can chip away at those numbers with the speech that is the carbon copy of that telling the people, everybody is going to be better under a trump second administration than they are currently, like they were doing well under a trump one, he can drive home that point and chip away at that numbers that's going to really help win michigan because that's a horrible spread an 89 point spread and if you knock that down to 60 you win michigan. pete: absolutely and we take this for granted but this is the first time in our lifetime that two former presidents with track records are facing off against each other and we know exactly what those track records are, and donald trump has done a great job talking in terms of common sense. rachel: yes. pete: doesn't have to be about political ideology. it's common sense on the economy , on the border. rachel: energy. pete: on men and women's bathrooms just common sense and that appeals to regardless of your background, i just want a little sanity and stability in my country. but we mentioned that contrast. well part of how candidates try to get that contrast out especially to young people is over social media so everybody wants, i mean, everybody wants to go viral. you saw donald trump joined tiktok which i have my own thoughts about, but did you see the most -- rachel: smart move, smart move. pete: does you see the most recent video he did with logan paul? rachel: yes. a podcast right? pete: right here, they did a fake fight standoff, and he broke character and they started laughing. like that's a great moment. who cracks first? joe biden couldn't do that. rachel: no. pete: not even close, so they will try to recreate something like that. he can, can do it in a way that makes you smile and relate to that and then as a result he gets millions and millions of views. well, the new york times is not ing something we all no is true which is that you can't go viral when you're boring. joe biden wants to go viral. it's not easy. here is part of what they say in the article. for months the president's campaign has watched as its rival donald trump in popularity among the very online. mr. biden and his allies are working to build a comparable online army trying to persuade or in some cases pay people to sink biden's praises to large followings and finding social media feeds are difficult territory for an 81-year-old president whose policy on gaza and immigration are unpopular on the left. rachel: the new york time once again gets it all wrong. first of all, you know, it's not because he's 81 years old that he can't go viral. donald trump is going viral. pete: absolutely. rachel: he's just a few years younger and by the way they had a moment on that podcast with that fighter where joe biden, i mean, donald trump pulls up, gives him a shirt of his mugshot and they were like that's amazing. they just loved it, and again, taking a moment that was supposed to humiliate him and turning it into a win, that's what fighters do and it was wel- received on social media but again, tucked in there, joe biden paying people on social media. donald trump doesn't pay young people on social media. it's not happening. this is organic. when he goes to those ufc fights you see the fighters wanting to talk to him before or after the fight, so this is organic and they're missing the point. it's not about gaza. it's about young people, and this is the first time donald trump has actually winning on people. there is that moment we talked about. joe biden is winning, i mean donald trump is winning young people right now. it's an incredible fox news poll that just came out, and it is because young people are worried about the future. they can't buy a house. they can't launch the way they saw their parents launch. this is really about the economy and fear that the american dream is collapsing. todd: you used the keyword before authentic. what joe biden is trying to do here to get the youth jet is try to appear cool and take it from me. you can't be cool. you have to just exude coolness. you can't try. like i never tried to be cool. mission accomplished. rachel: [laughter] todd: because you can't fake it. you have to know your lane. every now and again i say something funny. my degrees make people think i'm smart and i'm a dad. joe biden is trying to undo that and that comes off completely in authentic and no young person is like oh, i like that old guy trying to be cool. also, another thing to keep in mind here. these influencers are extremely protective of their image. i don't know if there's going to be enough money. what that number is for them to potentially risk that and risk their viralness to sort of hop on board the biden train. that's something to keep in mind yeah, he could get low level people, but the people, the charlie amelios are they like yeah, joe, i'm in your corner and risk potentially los ing half the country and los ing their coolness. pete: will quickly make you un cool. todd: 100%. rachel: it's interesting the new york times says it's about gaza. they don't know where gaza is at pete: capable of giving actual analysis like that, rachel. they have to eccuse it all away. rachel: yeah. and the social influencers that are coming around it's like the ones that his staffers put so a lot of these that are coming to the white house wearing fake nails and all of this kind of stuff that they do. pete: which only digs a further hole for them because you're not actually reaching that core constituency that you want to bring in. todd: that's not even resonating with the democrats. look at the numbers. that's not even resonating with the lgbtq community when he does that and that's a key problem for him. rachel: well donald trump authentically likes those fights he goes to those because he likes fighters and that's why he's there. joe biden would have had a staffer say maybe you should go here. you know? it's not coming authentic. todd: this is pete's favorite story. the princess of whales kate middleton returning to the public eye since she did reveal her cancer diagnosis. rachel: she and the royal family are participating in king charles official birthday celebration. the trooping, the colors. pete: chanley painer joins us now. reporter: kate middleton is always newsworthy looking fantastic this morning as after three months she announced her cancer diagnosis, you can sashes returned to the public spotlight for king charles birthday parade happening right now so earlier she traveled by carriage from buckingham palace down the grand avenue known as the mall with her children, george, charlotte, and louie, cheered as they looked at the princess in a white dress and yesterday kate announced an update on her health in a social media post saying, "i'm looking forward to attending the king's birthday parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer but equally knowing i'm not out of the woods yet. my treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months." now the 42-year-old has not made any public appearances since last december and first announced her cancer diagnosis in march. and today, she is participating in a ceremony called "trooping the color" where the military in full dress uniform parade past the king with their flag or color. king charles who is also being treated for an undisclosed form of cancer traveled in a carriage with queen camilla, to the ceremony rather than horseback, as he did last year and after the military parade guys the royal family will make an appearance on the balcony of buckingham palace. we'll be on the lookout for that. todd: thank you and to be clear, we wish her, we wish the king all the best. it's just pete and i, for my part, i was in england during trooping the color. i didn't even attend it then. that shows how little interest i have but again we want her to be healthy. we are happy to see these picture of her being healthy. rachel: we'll have more on this for all you ladies out there so don't worry. these guys are not running the schedule. pete: no, we are not. trooping the color doesn't even make sense to me. aren't they missing a word in there? todd: letter, colors? rachel: you add it, trooping of the color i notice that, we should get background on that. maybe we'll get background on that. pete: they need to speak american. todd: turning to headlines a firefighter killed another one hurt while responding to a vehicle fire in southern california. this video you see right there on your screen shows the scene after the sudden explosion yesterday. the procession was held last night to honor the fallen 19 year veteran of the l.a. county fire department. l.a. sheriff's office looking into what caused this explosion as the county supervisor calls the also "a sobering reminder of the dangers our first responders face everyday." portland, oregon first responders rescuing more than two dozen young people yesterday when that happened. an amusement park ride getting stuck upside down for about 30 minutes. >> we just asked the lady at the bottom of the ferris wheel if this has ever happened before and she said no and she said she's actually concerned for them. todd: one person was taken to the hospital and the ride at oak s park now closed until further notice. move over pickleball. pepper pong, yeah, i said it, the latest sport gaining popularity. it's a no-table required version of ping pong that can be played anywhere. you need the portable plastic net, three types of nerf foam balls and four paddles and the create or of the game that came up with the idea to battle loneliness says he sold over 10,000 sets so far and he thinks he's on a show pretty soon here. maybe on the couch. maybe he brings it and you guys play. pete: i've seen that before. i think i own that. todd: all right is it fun? pete: i should bust it out. clearly i haven't used it. rachel: meanwhile, serena williams, a real tennis star -- todd: good segway. rachel: she had some advice. we've been talking about this kaitlyn clark can't rosenstein jersey, the way she's being treated by some of the frankly, some of the black members of her league, and then she was excluded from the list of people for olympics and there was a lot of controversy about that because it didn't make a lot of sense and she would have brought a lot of attention to the sport, something everybody in that sport wants, but serena williams had this advice for ca itlyn clark. she said i just love that she tried to stay grounded. she doesn't have have a social, meaning social media account or doesn't look at her social. i get it. i don't either. i think it's so important to continue doing what she's doing. no matter what other people do, if people are negative, it's because people can't do what you do case ic lili basically and i hope she continues to do what she's doing and she appreciates that support. pete: well yeah and coming from someone, serena williams burst on to the scene, her and her sister, with a different way of plays women's tennis and they had tons of income we aren't even familiar with and now you add social media on top of it, c aitlyn clark is doing something similar in the wnba, it's the right advice. people hate on you because they don't have the skills you are. rachel: i looked into her background a little bit just because i didn't know much about her and she's been in the news so much. turns out she's catholic, very devoted to her faith, her brother is also a very good athlete. the both of them talk about praying the rosary, going to mass, so that kind of grounding -- >> now you're a big fan. rachel: i'm a super fan, but that kind of grounding is problemably its helped handle this kind of attention. todd: that advice i agree with pete is perfect. especially for the situation that caitlyn clark finds herself in because while reverse racism is at the core of a lot of it the antagonism toward her at the end of the day this comes down to petty jealousy. they are all jealous she's getting all of this attention and all caitlyn clark is doing she didn't ask for this. she had a dominant two year stretch on the court and she is a good basketball player. the olympics thing i understand that. that's an odd question that could be based upon basketball, yeah, she could probably also be the 12th man and it's not going to impact the team because they roll through everybody but at the end of the day, this all comes down to jealousy, and people are jealous of her and that comes out on social media. stay the course. play your game and you're going to bring this sport to even greater heights once all this jealousy is out. rachel: she's been sort of egged on in some of these interviews and she never takes the bait. she's always she gracious and i think that's a couple times i was like come on say something. i was like no she's handling this exactly the right way. pete: moving on, the supreme court striking down federal bans on bump stocks, so with 22 million new gun owners in the us since the last election, will it have bigger implication come november? rachel: we're asking fox news contributor and attorney paul mo rrow. while i am a paid actor, and this is not a real company, there is no way to fake how upwork can help your business. upwork is half the cost of our old recruiter and they have top-tier talent and everything from pr to project management because this is how we work now. oooh! i can't wait for this family getaway! shingles doesn't care. shingles is a painful, blistering rash that can last for weeks. ahhh, there's nothing like a day out with friends. that's nice, but shingles doesn't care! 99% of adults 50 years or older already have the virus that causes shingles inside them, and it can reactivate at any time. a perfect day for a family outing! guess what? shingles doesn't care. but shingrix protects. only shingrix is proven over 90% effective. shingrix is a vaccine used to prevent shingles in adults 50 years and older. shingrix does not protect everyone and is not for those with severe allergic reactions to its ingredients or to a previous dose. an increased risk of guillain-barré syndrome was observed after getting shingrix. fain
